It is a shame when you go to large Stores (Home Depot, Lowes) come out more confused than you walked in. But Branneky is an exceptional store where you not only get the best advise but almost a hands on instructions to complete the project. I just can not thank their employess enough for being extremely helpful and friendly. I avoid large stores to find inexperienced staff giving wrong advise confidently. Branneky has never failed me and I hope everyone give such independent stores first chance before stepping into large stores. Branneky staff will almost do anything to help you but the large name brand stores will disappoint you with what they can not do for you. (Example - Can Home Depot cut a piece of glass to exact size for you, Will they go extra mile to find the correct blank for duplicating your key..The answer is always NO!) In my last 20 years... Branneky has never duplicated any key which didnt work on first try... But Home Depot or Lowes good luck if the key will work on first try or work at all. I just love Branneky...Thank God, this store exists. Dave S.

@Blogsiren, u got a 400$ mower (riding i assume) and now 4 years later youre mad cause it broke?!?!? LOL.... u sir should be ashamed of ur hoosierself. Ive personally found them one year ago, 100x better than the Home Depo! Service, selection and pricing are amazing. Oh and usually free popcorn in the afternnoon!! Just from winterizing my home from here I saved hundreds when compared to HD/Lowes. I stop there first. Form your casual Gardener to the full remodel this place has everything. Selection is truly unbelievable, its literally jam packed with every u need and a lot of stuff u never knew existed. Just ask for what you need when you walk in and voila your kindly escorted directly to your said product, where you will be politely asked "What else are you looking for today?" - Just an amazing store, its a shame how rare of a place this truly is.

I purchase a Yard Man lawn mower from this store in 2007. I took it in for servicing this past summer and was told there are no parts available because my mower was a 2001.I purchased a $400 mower from Branneky that was already 6 years old. I went to the store, and explained my problem. I also explained that the lawn mower repair man was the person THEY suggested. So, someone is lying to me...I have a piece of crap lawn mower that cannot be repaired and Branneky sold it to me. It was almost outdated when I received it. The manager didnt care, offered no solution (they could have had it fixed, and I would have paid for the parts, EXCEPT YOU CANT GET PARTS FOR THIS MOWER ANY MORE)..but he offered no help. I used to go to this store for everything, but they have proven to me you cannot trust them..Shame on them.

I want thank you from the bottom of my heart for waiting on my wife just before closing on New Years Eve. I had been working on installing a new toilet all day. I went to Ace which is 1/2 mile away and they were out of the correct length. I then went to Lowes and all they had was a line with plastic fittings that did NOT work when I tried to install them. At this point I gave up since my 70 year old body was telling me it was NOT happy! Thats when my wife went to ........Brannecky! When she came home with the CORRECT line, it was all I could do to find the energy to hook it up. I should say that it was all I could do to force my aching muscles to try one more time. Thanks to your people, we celebrated New Years Eve with a new working Toto toilet!

Never. Never. NEVER have I walked out of Branneky without the exact repair part I needed. Everytime I slap my forehead and ask myself why I still darken the door of box stores. Then Ill go back to the box stores out of habit/masochism and get frustrated all over again. Swear to God, once they did not have a crazy specialty part I needed to repair an ancient refrigerator... And the guy in back MADE it, machined it out of a similar part. The store is extra-dimensional. Its the dimensions of one department of Home Depot, but they stock twice as many parts as the entire store. EVERYBODY knows their stuff. In world where there are so many retail crimes against the shopping public, this little hardware store is heaven. Pure heaven.

These guys are great. I love the personal service and knowledge. Today I needed a new striker for a Schlage door handle / lock. Not only did they have the part, but they showed me what caused the problem in the first place so I could make an easy adjustment when I reinstalled the handle and lock. Try that a big box...Well that would have been impossible because the big box did not even carry the part. Branneky never fails to have the right tool or the right part or the right advice. I drive 3 extra minutes to get there, on the Rock Rd. and they have saved me hours in headaches and busted knuckles.

This is a great hardware store. The slightly shy and introverted like myself might find the staff a little TOO helpful at times but I cannot, in good faith, fault them for doing their very best to help a customer. One of the best and most complete assortments of small hardware (screw, nuts bolts etc.) you will find anywhere. The store has a nostalgic and classically American feel to it all without feeling out of date or out of touch. It is modern and organized where it needs to be without ruining the heritage that I feel every time I go in.

True Value Hardware has a reputation of excellent customer service, not only having those oddball parts in stock but having a couple of choices, and also an experienced sales staff. I went to a big box store for a duplicate house key. Three tries later I just asked for my money back, took the key to Branneky and one try later they had it right. Went looking for a pull chain for a ceiling fan, Went to both cavernous box stores and no luck. Went to Branneky and they had the finish I needed by the foot!!!

My dad grew up in Bourbon, MO and drove all the way to "the city" to shop at Brannekys back in 1954! I am married with kids and love gardening and my husband is a do-it-yourselfer (talented and hard working, too). Brannekys has SO many items you need, didnt KNOW you needed, items you cant find anywhere else not to mention ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE by knowledgeable people! I cant recommend them enough. I am just glad that I live just five miles away! Sure beats the 70+ miles one way drive my dad used to trek!

Ive been going to Branneky for 25 years and I love the place. When you walk in the door there is usually someone waiting to help you find what you need, if not they are not hard to find. They almost always have exactly what you need. You get in and out with personal service, half the time you would spend in a big box store. Cant say enough about this gem of the area, we are so lucky to have such a place.
