I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER.... Having read these reviews I should have believed them and stayed away. I must say that the first salesman(gerry) was very professional. Unfortunately like many of the reviews below the owner of this place is flat out dis-courteous. We had a negoatiated price prior to sale pending my inspection. Glad I spent the hundred bucks because there was over 2k in repairs that would need to be done soon(not all immediately). What baffles me is that when I brought back the repair sheet he hardly looked at it. One could assume they fully well knew the issues with the car previously and choose not to disclose that information. On the site the car was listed as fully inspected also, I asked him who inspected this vehicle because any halfway decent mechanic would not miss this many things. Some of the issues included an O2 sensor, motor mount, window regulator, blower motor(heat). One of the tires was different than the other 3, leading me to believe they replaced only one of them that they needed to. Before I could even finish my sentence or discuss it he interupted me mid sentence with "I think were done here". When I said that it was gonna cost him more to fix these things then go down on the price he said that they were "NOT GOING TO FIX THEM, IT IS A USED CAR". His level of non professionalism astounded me. He walked out of his office on me mid sentence. They rant and rave about how long they have been in service, but clearly this guy will never change his treatment of people. He clearly has no idea what a customer is or how they should be treated. No matter how long you have been in business, you need to treat your customers well, and anyone with half a brain knows just cause you have sold enough cars to stay in business doesnt directly reflect how you treat people. All and all I feel I should thank him for his actions, I wouldnt spend a dollar at this lot and if your smart neither should you.

Sales people/owner dont care about customers. I got a car with the speakers shot from who knows what. The center storage compartments top layer is not screwed in and opens at every acceleration. The passengers seat is broken and is uncomfortable for people to sit on. The center stack/console has a few climate control buttons that no longer have their back-lit light illuminating when the headlights are turned on (for driving in the dark). The key does not open ANY of the two doors nor the trunk. The rearview mirror fell off after a week or two (so I had to get a kit to fix this issue). I had to buy a second keyless entry fob just so that I can ensure being able to get into the car, in case the battery of the original fob dies out (since the key doesnt work on the doors). Not even a month into driving the car, it needed an oil change. When I took it to an actual Toyota dealership for an oil change, they found other problems: car needs a new oil pan, a spring detached from the oil pan so I had to pay for a new spring, and the timing belt is close to the end of its life. Paid way too much for the car I got. The sales people dont tell you anything about whats wrong with the cars on the lot. They will try to milk your money any way they can. They rush you into their office, too. Do not buy from here. You will regret it.

DONT BUY CAR HERE! Total rip off. They scam you into thinking they must be selling good used cars by including a warranty-it lulls you into false security. The whole deal is crap. Turns out warranty only good for $1400. Literally, DAYS after purchased car found out transmission completely shot--a $4000. repair unless you use his referral for mechanic and you get some rebuilt parts of the transmission, not even a different rebuilt tran. I was told by mechanic that dealer actually called and asked for quote to replace transmission two months prior to selling me the car so Im quite sure Jay Hoppe North Suburban Auto knowingly sold car with shot transmission for full market value on a "clean" vehicle for that year. The most I ever got out of him was $190. Oh, btw the exhaust manifold was shot too--another $2000. repair I chose not to do. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from Jay Hoppe North Suburban Auto St. Paul or Hugo locations. Unless you think its worth paying several thousand dollars for a car you would need to put several more thousand dollars into.

I bought my first car here back in 2002, a 96 Saturn SL2. I was 24 years old at the time, being young and foolish they took complete advantage of that. They failed to mention ANY of the problems the car had. The only one I noticed before I bought it was that the power locks did not work. Later I found out the wiper fluid pump and cigarette lighter wasnt working, oil was leaking, and the card reader used to check the SES indicator was missing, and the fan that keeps the engine coolant from burning up wasnt working. So either they dont do a full inspection of these vehicles or more likely they purposely withhold information that could deter someone from getting ripped off. I believe they prey on the many poor, uneducated people that live in the area. There is no way this place would have lasted this long in a middle class neighborhood.

Worst experience ever! I am a SINGLE mom of FIVE kids. I went there to purchase a 2005 Dodge Durango, I purchased the vechile on Feb. 10th and just last Thursday Feb. 18th I ran into car issues. Temperature light came on and after getting it diagnosed the heads on the vehicle were bad. Head gasket issues. I paid cash for the vehicle. Called this place about the issue of course they claimed it was my fault! The mechanic that diagnosed the issue said it was most definitely not my fault! they sold me a bad car! The manager at the place was very very rude! And also had to call from a different number at times because they constantly kept lying to me and I felt it and I was accurate! Please be cautious!!! I shouldnt of had to experience this.

Worst car buying experience of my life!! Do NOT buy a car from this place!! I bought a Toyota Corolla from here and they told me it was in great shape with no oil leaks etc. Two days after I bought the car the car was leaking oil all over the place. I took it to my mechanic and he said the car has had this oil issue for months, and he also told me the dealership cleaned up the oil prior to the sale to cover up the major mechanical issue. When I called Suburban Auto to confront them about the issue the owner got extremely angry and was yelling at me and hung up. The owner even told me over the phone that the mechanical issue happened after the sale and it was my fault!! Unbelievable!!! I ended up donating the car.

I wouldnt even give this dealership one full star. The salesman was very clueless and unorganized when the sale was finally made when i bought my ford escape. They lost the dear head rests in the vehicle but promised they would replace them at no charge (therefore wouldnt take less for the vehicle). After repeated phone calls, and messages, the only way I could get a hold of someone was to call from an unknown phone number. I bought my vehicle in November and still have yet to get my title. (It is not mid April). Once again, many phone calls, no answer. The vehicle has a valve leak and is starting to require a lot of maintenance. Overall, I think the dealer needs to be shut down! They are a scam!
