Oakdale business owner sentenced for felony drug charge Submitted by admin on Tue, 04/25/2017 - 12:20pm Hatem Younis An Oakdale business owner who pleaded guilty to fourth-degree drug charges related to one of his stores was sentenced April 12 to three years probation. Last year, 45-year-old Hatem Amin Younis, who owns Smokedale Tobacco in Oakdale, was charged with three felony drug counts primarily related to the possession and alleged sale of synthetic drugs. Eventually, two of the three charges were dropped, and Younis pleaded guilty to fourth-degree possession and intent to sell Schedule 1, Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 drugs. Beyond his Oakdale store, Younis has stores in Minneapolis, Anoka and Big Lake, Minnesota, as well as Hudson and Menomonie, Wisconsin. His businesses remained open throughout the case. Police investigations of Younis spanned almost four years. According to a criminal complaint, in August 2012 law enforcement began investigating Younis after learning the Oakdale Smokedale Tobacco store allegedly sold the synthetic hallucinogen implicated in a teenager’s death. A 2013 Drug Enforcement Agency raid of multiple Smokedale stores and Younis’ Afton home resulted in thousands of seized items, some of which tested positive for synthetic hallucinogens and stimulants. Detectives also reportedly interviewed informants who claimed to have purchased synthetic marijuana, synthetic hallucinogens and synthetic stimulants from the Oakdale Smokedale and from Younis directly. The Office of Diversion Control website states that synthetic stimulants can cause serious reactions including hallucinations, delusions, suicidal thoughts, violent outbursts and death. The website also states that even a small amount of synthetic hallucinogens can cause seizures, cardiac and respiratory arrest and death. Beyond Younis’ three years of probation, he was fined $200 and given a stay of adjudication, which means that so long as he does not violate his probation there will be no conviction on his permanent record. Will not go back, EVER!

Dont buy E-Cigarette supplies at Smokedales. They sell a lot of generic knock-off products and have a no return policy. I bought a rebuildable tank atomizer for $40 just to find out it leaks in four different areas. They refused to refund my money. I would have never known it leaked until I purchased and filled it. When I tried to return it, it literally felt like going to court. The owner even asked an employee whether anybody else came into the store complaining of leaking problems with the tank I purchased. He didnt seem to care whether or not the product I purchased was defective. He insisted that the product wasnt defective. From now on Im buying all my stuff from online stores and businesses not run by Indians. I had similar issues at Stillwater tobacco which was also run by Indians. I honestly dont think they understand how to return defective products back to the manufacturer. He didnt see me as a potential future customer, but rather a threat to his business. He would rather rip me off instead of (in his mind) have me rip him off. So Im basically out $40 and he has lost any future business that I may have provided. If you shop at Smokedales, please stop. They dont need support if they are to continue using these poor business practices.

The only redeeming fact is that they are open 24 hours, but its constantly under-staffed, dirty, and you shouldnt waste your time coming here unless you REALLY need something. I have Bought a bunch of glass here and can tell you first hand that its all cheap BS to get you in the door, but they intentionally do a "no returns or exhange" policy because they know its garbage. You dont get the chance to truly use anything so you cant see the actual funtion, and dont bother asking the employees, because they are USELESS. Half the time there is no one around to help or one person in the store, so your have to cherry pick until someone FINALLY comes to help you. The glass is INSANELY marked up and really is not worth what they say it is. EVERY SINGLE, AND YES I MEAN EVERY SINGLE GLASS ITEM I HAVE EVER PURCHASED HAS BROKEN FROM SMOKEDALE DO NOT COME HERE. When you ask them questions they dont know amything, but when you come back and say its broken suddenly they know everything about the product and you did something wrong. Its set up from the start. DO NOT waste your money here

Im posting 3 ☆s for now right in the middle , this is subject to change 1 way or the other within the hour Id say, I was in the store a couple hours ago and was over charged by approx $18.00 i had multiple items and my kid waiting in car for me so i did the math after fact I even know n understand how and where the error took place 1 employee writes note saying 3x 199 1x499 however the 1 looks a bit like a 7 simple mistake however I wasnt issued a receipt and what some people are saying bout return policy etc Im not completely expecting this to go in my favor but its nearly $20.00 difference and i didnt purchase or recieve 3 x products that are 7.99 value I got 1.99 if lucky so if they give me whats mine Ill be back with a 5☆ if I get a hassel/ run around cuz of something there employee misread and or didnt give me or offer to me the receipt Ill be back with a 1☆Its up to you smokedale you make your own reviews please be 5☆I hate waisting my time ....

Every time I go to smokedale I end up leaving angry they have the rudest staff Ive ever delt with they told me something was 5.99 and I came back the next day and the price went up to 9.99 DO NOT GO HERE FOR E CIG FLUID OR EVEN CIGS there is better places during regular hours that will treat you right they deserve your money better than this place because theyve earned it , one time I went into smokedale and bought ecig fluid and it was clotted up was a thick paste i tried to exchange it and they said it was normal they acted like I was snotty and continue to ignore me the fluid of a cell is extremely low quality go to an e-cig store if you actually want to get good ecig fluid who cares that there are 24 hours I will never shop there again Ive never been treated that bad at a place whatever happened to the customer is always right

There was one absolute horrible manger Muhammad, he was extremely disrespectful and I hope he is fired. I will never shop there again knowing that scumbag works there. I absolutely discourage anyone from coming here they are the worst of the wosrt glass and ecig shops, if you want glass go to hideaway way better selection and way better people!!! If I could give zero stars I would he was that bad. And one of the only peple to give five stars is that Clint guy and just so happens to be that the guy is employed by smokedale as there IT guy so of course he would give it five stars and a steller review the place is ran horrible. The one Muslim manager was mean as hell and is on a school visa, thats just not right....

Now that they have moved into their expanded location, this has become a cigar "Mecca" in the eastern suburbs. The newly expanded location feature a gigantic walk-in humidor with an unmatched selection. They have a public smoking area as well as a private cigar lounge. Be sure to ask to see the private smoking lounge, its awesome. My most recent trip yielded some Fuente anejos, and a Hemmingway "work of art" maduro, which I have never seen in the Twin Cities. I suppose I better mention price. Most sticks are lower priced than the competition, making this place a must visit for an cigar smoker. Get to know this place if you live in Woodbury like I do, theres nothing else around here that compares.
