I discovered Cars Bike Shop quite by accident. I had been going across town to purchase bike gear, etc, and this time happened to come across the shop while eating at the BK next door. In my first visit I went to primarily to scope out the place and make a small purchase - a double water bottle cage holder for the back of my older 10 Speed. I asked asked about wheels and tires. The person who helped me guided me through options I would have for 27 X 1 1/4" tires. He spoke about possibly going with 700 as opposed to the older size and talked about the advantages and disadvantages with the older vs. newer style (and size) of tires. He also presented me with options at several price points, which was great without steering me to the higher-end tires. There was definitely no pressure and he answered my questions while servicing other customers who entered. I came back today and pretty much outfitted my old ten speed with new tires, wheels, and a few other accessories for my fall / winter work commute. The bike mechanic (different guy) was also very helpful in providing everything I needed. It was great attention. First, he thought the current wheel set was good enough...certainly to try out. Nice to have someone who isnt always pushing new product on you. Also, Im a beginner and so he explained many of the steps involved in putting on the new tire as he put them on the bike. All pricing was reasonable compared to other shops Ive been to. All-in-all it was a very good experience and Ill go back again. I also liked it being local.

This place has a great selection despite its small size. The staff are really friendly and know what theyre talking about. Ive been to Eriks and Penn, but CARS has the best prices on everything across the board and way better customer service (because theyre not bike snobs). Plus, its nice to know that Im supporting a local business. Overall, every experience Ive had with the store has been excellant... I highly recommend to everyone!

Ive been coming here since I moved to Mounds View and I love having a neighborhood bike shop. Ive gotten 3 bikes here plus close to getting a 4th and they help me with all I need whether its simple maintenance to a complete overhaul. If you live in the area and are looking for a bike skip the big retail outlets and spend you cash at a local place that will take care of your bike as the years go along.

Friendly staff, meet us at the door. Looked over both bikes while my children and I were looking through the store. Gave an itemized estimate including recommended repairs. Great variety of merchandise in store, bikes, clothing, bike shoes, bike accessories (horns, baskets, bags, etc). My 10 year old son was excited to fit a perfect fit helmet!

First they have great staff that you can relate with. The staff are very helpful and kind. Prices are great and arent gonna put you in debt. I have bought 3 bikes from this shop and every time its been a great experience. All in all a very solid local bike shop.

For my move back up here from Texas, I had my bike crated at a bike shop in Texas. I needed it reassembled and tuned. These guys did a great job, were fast and friendly. This is definitely a locally owned shop that Ill continue to patronize.
