Let me start this off by saying that this was the first time I have EVER gotten a tattoo before so I was more than a little hesitant/worried about the process. We went into the shop on July 20th, was greeted by a very nice woman (Selina), and the first thing youll notice is the AMAZING artwork all over the walls. To say that theyve got some professional designers in there would be an understatement. We proceeded to show her the design/style we were looking to get, and the area on our body we were wanting it on. She went over all of the options with us, helped us pick out the design/location that was going to work best, and was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. She passed our design onto the artist (Jason) who came back with 3 stencils for us to choose from. My wife went with the smaller design and I went with the next step up. After waiting a little bit, the artist came out, introduced himself, and led us into the back. We went over who was going to go first (I decided to, since if my wife did and I saw it, I might of hedged even more lol). Jason proceeded to put the stencil on my arm, and then said "Heres a little line of the stencil so you can feel what this is going to be like and get acclimated to it". People say its like thousands of bee stings, but honestly? I didnt feel that at all. I had a little twinge at first, but after that, it was smooth sailing from there. He was very careful, detailed and made sure that the design came out exactly the way we were both wanting it to. The entire time he was working he was engaging us in conversation to take our minds off of what was going on, and I felt like the time flew by and was not rushed whatsoever. Needless to say, this wont be my last tattoo that my wife and I will be getting and the next time were wanting one done, were making the trek back up to the Twin Cities (were from Iowa) and will be going back to Jason/Selina and the gang at Mutiny Tattoo. EXCEPTIONAL Service :) :) :) thanks again guys soooooo much!!! You are truly masters of your craft.

I have had 3 birds done by Jak on my left leg. I must say she is one of the best artists I have ever had do work on me. This shop is amazingly clean, and in tip top shape easy to find and the staff is super frienly and very knowledgeable. I have recommended this shop to everyone looking to get a tattoo I highly recommend Jak as your new artist. I am seeing her again very soon to have a snow fairy done on the back on my Right leg, and can not wait for her amazing artwork to be permanently on my skin again. All the artists do awesome work, but Jak is the one I see. Jak also did Heath Ledger as the joker from Dark Knight on the back of my husbands left leg and its PHENOMENAL work he has gotten so many compliments on it and has run out of Jaks business cards a few times now with interested people. Im telling you all if you want a clean amazing place to go for tattoos this is it. They also carry a very wide selection of body jewelry as well. Stop by and check it out.

I had written a review of this shop before when I only had 3 pieces done by Ben, but I decided that I needed to do an updated one. I now have a full sleeve and a piece on the top of my foot, all done by Ben. They were completed almost 2 years ago and everything still looks amazingly colorful and vibrant. I have since traveled around the world and I get compliments on my tattoos everywhere I go. Not just from people without tattoos, either. I was told by a veteran tattoo artist in Memphis that he wished he had a sleeve like mine. I can assure you that if you get a tattoo done by anyone in this shop, you will walk away with a high quality, supremely awesome piece. Disclaimer: All the attention you get from having such an awesome piece does get annoying after a while. I recommend carrying pepper spray for the handsy ones.

This shop definitely does not deserve these ratings. The artists I encountered were rude and egotistic. It was a run of the mill walk-in shop and thats about it. I was quoted one price and the next time I went in I just wanted to change some of the colors and he was going to charge me an extra $150. I have about half my body tattooed and realize they actually tried to scam me. I was also told it would cost me extra for a touch up! Really? Thats about the time I left! Most of these comments are probably from people who work there or are friends. Wouldnt recommend this shop if you wanted nice custom tattoos...if you wanted an average walk in tattoo I doubt I would go here either. Doesnt matter how"clean" their shop is, they were rude and tried to scam me.

I went to Mutiny for a tattoo cover up. They suggested that I go to Alex Morse for it, he ended up being incredible, nice, and easy to work with. The shop as a whole will make suggestions for your tattoo to make it better for design purposes and/or for you as the individual. I have been back for more tattoos since because I really trusted him as an artist for my other ideas that I wanted done. I also noticed how clean and well kept the shop is, which is something you look for in a tattoo shop as well. This space exceeded any expectations as a tattoo shop and more, the staff is wonderful and easy to talk to about anything tattoo/piercing, they have a ton of piercing merchandise and will help you with just about anything you need!

Im one of those nerds who does things like get really picky over quality lines, shading, and basic stuff like that. I like big, bold tattoos that Ill be able to tell apart from my liver spots ~30 years down the road, and things like clean lines and even shading make a big difference in the lifespan of your tattoos. Mutiny Tattoo keeps my business because Ill never have to worry about those things when Im getting tattooed. Ive been there 3 times, twice by Benny and once by Jason, and plan on going back for a lot more sessions. The staff has always been friendly, receptive to ideas, and good at providing input to newcomers who might be struggling with a concept. Whether its flash or custom work, I never hesitate recommending Mutiny.

Mutiny is my FAVORITE place to get tattooed. I get tattooed by Jason Donnor, and he does a wonderful job. My fiancé, and our entire family get tattooed by Jason. I highly recommend him. Jason is great to chat with, and makes the whole situation very comfortable. I also love everyone who works at the shop. I have had quite a few conversations with Benny, as well as Lucky. Than just side chat here and there with the other artists. I do not have a single complaint about any of them. If you want to get a tattoo or piercing, Mutiny is the place to go!

The folks at Mutiny are fantastic! I didnt get tattooed at the Mutiny shop, but Ben, the owner, did a piece for me during the 2010 MPLS Tattoo Convention and I cant recommend him enough. The color of this piece is vibrant and well shaded, and he was a supremely personable guy. Returning to get another piece done is the highest praise I can think to give to an artist and Ill be getting another tattoo from Ben later this week. If youre looking for a down-to-earth place to get the tattoo youve wanted for years, Mutiny is the place to go.
