Great place. I walked in here a few weeks ago looking to check it out. I was thinking about getting my first tattoo but was on the fence and and had no intention of getting one that night. I walked into the parlor and was impressed. Everyone was welcoming and when I said I was in there considering my first tattoo, I didnt feel uncomfortable, totally professional. Dan was available, and I told him what I was thinking and he drew something up freehand and I was impressed. Id been wanting something in script and he crushed it. So I decided to go for it. Dan was exceptionally professional and I felt comfortable the whole time. The tattoo looks great and I will be a client of his in the future. For a person who walked in on a random Tuesday I couldnt have been more impressed. The work was great, Dan worked very well, and I felt comfortable throughout. I called a day later to double check about how to take care of the work and the person answering the call was super professional and chill. Great place

In short: clean, friendly, accommodating, talented. I had heard good things about Uptown Tattoo, so I decided to check it out for my second tattoo. I had a fairly complicated design, and a very specific way I wanted it to look, but Dan Kytolla did an amazing job adapting it to something even better, while retaining the meaning and quality of the original. I did have a little bit of a problem with making the appointment: when I went in at my original time, Dan had not been given the paper with my design on it, so the session had to be postponed a few weeks. However, the rest went smoothly. It was done quickly, beautifully, and professionally, and the price was both fair and the same as the original quote. I prefer to design my own tattoos but I am proud to wear Dans artistic adaptation. I get compliments almost literally everywhere I go. My next appointment is in a week. I have a feeling that I will continue getting all my ink done at Uptown--theres no reason to look elsewhere!

For my first tattoo, I did alot of research of where to go. I looked at St. Sabrinas, Ink Lab, etc. I kept getting the same recommendations from friends - go to Uptown. Uptown is so popular, that there is usually a month wait or more. They asked the artists, and were able to get me in the same week. When I got there, I was greeted by Jon Sweet, my tattoo artist. He was personable, friendly and wanted to make sure I got the design I wanted. He was honest with me with all questions and was done in 10 minutes! (it was a small design). The tattoo is crisp, clean and better looking that the picture I brought in! Uptown Tattoo is clean, has great customer service, is NOT overpriced, and they did an exceptional job. For my first tattoo, they made it a great experience. This is where my husband and I will go for future work!

Hands down the best tattoo parlor in the Twin Cities. I went to more than 5 of the best rated shops, and eventually ended up here. It should have been my first choice. The manager tried his best to fit me in even though I had a very tight schedule, and ended getting my tattoo done with Nic. After 5 hours of a pleasant chat, the tattoo was done. Finely detailed, way better than I expected. And it ended being a lot cheaper than what every other tattoo shop estimated. Fair warning though, there will be a long waiting time since they are booked months ahead. But if you are thinking a tattoo for the rest of your life, you might as well wait a little longer and get it done by the best.

Just got inked by Dan Kytola last night. He was extremely friendly, funny, and helpful. All artists at Uptown are very talented, but I would definitely go to Dan again. He gave me suggestions on how to make my tattoo better, and he is extremely knowledgeable about shading. Great artistic style as well on custom pieces! The tat took less time than expected, and he reflected it in the price (as I know not all places would do...most charge you what they quote regardless). The pricing was extremely fair (almost a good deal)! I would highly recommend, and I will definitely go back for any future inking needs.

I have been going to Brandon to get all of my tattoo work for 10 years now. I made the mistake of going somewhere else for a piece and it is leaps and bounds behind in quality. Everyone Ive ever encountered at the shop has been super friendly. The price is actually rather comparable to other shops and the quality of art is the best Ive seen anywhere in the cities.

GO HERE! Dan is the guy I went to to fix my tattoo I had done somewhere else and he is amazing. I have no other words for it. I always recommend him to my friends and anyone who will listen. I love this guy. Really check out his work for sure. You definitely get what you pay for here and the work is fantastic.
