We visited here a couple months ago on a weekend to check out the car seats. We actually knew which one we wanted- we just had to see if it would fit in our little car well enough to buy it. So basically for this sale (of over $1000 since we were getting 3 Clek seats and some inserts needed for infants), all they had to do was be kind and answer two questions I had, while letting us try the seat in our car for fit. Sadly, they couldnt do the small requirements we had to buy from their store. Im glad we could see that the seats fit, since this seat is not available locally, but honestly both my husband and I have never felt so disrespected in our lives. Which is really saying something. The car seat tech was busy, not helping anyone else, but on the computer. When one of the associates tried to get her to answer questions she didnt answer her well so then the girl tried to elaborate on something she knew nothing about, which I appreciated her trying. When the tech was finally summoned from the computer to help us as we waited (we checked out the rest of the small store with our toddler), she didnt see us right next to that particular car seat, so she told the girl we couldnt be found (really?? The store is like 10 paces front to back) and went back to her important computer work. My husband saw the whole thing and it pissed a normally peace-keeping man off enough to say "yup were buying online" and take our son out of the store to leave immediately. I returned the seat we had tried in the car and got my ID back, to which the girl tried halfheartedly to keep us in store by explaining there was a sale for Memorial Day. Meanwhile other people were being attended to, and it seemed we were the ones being ignored even though we had calmly waited and strolled the store, and been there the longest. Actually no one even smiled or said "hi" to us while we were there besides this associate, which was interesting since there were a ton of people working and they werent all with people- most of them were just chatting to each other. I am pretty much a full-fledged "buy local" patron and love supporting local businesses in any way I can. Even this I was prepared to buy locally though I knew I could find a better deal online if I tried. But that day we went home and immediately ordered all three seats from an online retailer that wasnt going to treat us as "not enough" with no regrets at all. And we actually are going to probably replace an older, different seat with another Clek, and well definitely go with the online server that did what they were supposed to do rather than a terrible local shop that only caters to people that look like them. Its kinda a shame too, since this kind of place is right up my alley. I had my eye on a wooden plate set they had, and a few other things since I like buying quality items, so I guess Ill just check out The Pacifier and Moss Envy to see if they have them instead. I suggest you do as well! And if you do want to check this place out, maybe make sure youre wearing a designer purse or something so they pay attention to you.

Overall, this is a great store with fantastic baby items, gorgeous gifts and great gizmos for all things baby and toddler related. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly while youre in the store. We made several big purchases for our daughter, including our Peg Perego Stroller/bassinet and stroller accessories, Peg Perego infant car seat and bases, 7AM Baby bunting for winter, and most recently, a toddler car seat. The store is always clean and organized, and always bubbling with plenty of first time or veteran parents, buying things for their kids or as gifts for others. I am giving this review 4 stars, instead of 5, because it happened to us twice that when we purchased our items, there was a very long wait time before they were delivered, and virtually no communication from the store. We had to call several times, for both purchases, to inquire about the status of our products. Each time we called, there was little consistency or knowledge of the transaction and/or its expected arrival. It was almost a month before we received our infant car seat, and the follow-up customer service we received from the store was mediocre at best. While youre in the store, they are incredibly attentive and gracious, and can offer many great ideas and suggestions. Once we left the store, we felt the level of customer service had dropped off considerably. We will continue to patron the store, as we feel the products and service are top-notch, and offer a very high-end experience, however we would love to see this store consider all areas of the customer cycle and consider stepping up their game, as it relates to the out-of-store experience and customer needs of their patrons.

TERRIBLE customer service! I am not one to write reviews and I am a pretty easy going person. I have worked retail since the day I turned 16 and know it can be tasking to deal with customers at times, but I continue to have such bad luck here. I also have many friends who have had the same experiences. I have been trying to pick up an order from them for two weeks now and they refuse to call me back and tell me when it has come in. They say it is at their warehouse. They seem to be very snooty and not helpful. There are too many great local baby and childrens boutiques in the Twin Cities to waste your time being treated poorly when you are spending an arm and a leg on baby gear.

My wife and I had no idea what we where looking for when we walked in to purchase essentials for our first child. Staff where enormously helpful! What a difference from Babies R Us or target where no is around or very knowledgeable or helpful. We had personalized attention in the several hours we where there to pick out a crib, car seat, stroller, lounger, and child carrier. It was great to try things on and get your hands on the products with someone to walk you threw how to use them and what each product offered. This is a great place to start your shopping for all first time parents! Thanks again to all the fabulous staff!

Thank you Baby Grand! I have shopped for all four of my children (car seats, strollers, furniture and two recliners) over the course of ten years and have always had a great experience. I even work with some of the same sales people year after year after year. I am so pleased that the Twin Cities has a local baby store to go to and I hope everyone supports them instead of supporting online - I want to always have a store like this to go to.

Love the customer service of the Hopkins location! Answer all my questions, provide helpful input and recommendations. Great selection of cribs and nursery furniture, particularly for those looking for furniture made in America, Canada, or Europe. You can test drive strollers or products in the shop... yeah we love this place.

Weve purchased quite a bit from BG and keep going back. They are very knowledgeable with their products and are very accommodating. It also makes you feel valued when you go back in after a while and they remember you. Happy to see a "Mom-n-Pop" business thats thriving and Ill keep going back.
