I bought tires here about 3 months ago and that experience was good. Friendly staff, the price that I got quoted was accurate. I left there pleased with my experience. When I bought my tires it is recommended by the manufacturer to have the tires rotated every 5000 miles to keep the warranty good. Tire rotation is free with the purchase of tires so no big deal right? So with that being said I made an appointment for a tire rotation at 5:30 pm on 11/29/2016. I showed up 10 minutes early and checked in. The guy behind the desk said it will just be a short while. No big deal, my son and I just hung out. After 15 or 20 minutes I looked back in the mechanics Bay and noticed no one was in there working. (Now this entire time we have been there we have been the ONLY customers) the two guys behind the counter just hanging out BS ing and there we sit. No big deal, we just wait patiently, I assumed the mechanic was on break. At 5:50 the two mechanics get back from break or whatever they were doing and go behind the service counter. I think to myself, cool should be done soon and on our way. At 6:00 I hear my name called, assuming they just brought my truck in and needed to talk about something. No, the guy working there said "ml the mechanic looked at your tires and there fine, no need to rotate them". Now mind you its pitch black outside and this Kid did not spend 10 seconds looking at my tires. I told the manager that I came in for a rotation and would like to have it done regardless. He told me he would ask the mechanic and get back to me. I stood there for a minute, he came back and said "yeah there is really no reason to do this, so you can just go home". Still not pissed I told the manager that my tires are started to have road noise and I want them rotated, I have an appointment, I bought the tires here and to please have his mechanics do it. At this point we have spent longer arguing over rotating them than it actually would have taken to do the job. Again he told me to hold on while he talked to his genius mechanic. He came back and said that the tire noise would not improve from rotating my tires so there is no need I can go home. Now Im mad. First of all any one with a 3rd grade education knows if your tires start to get noisy they need to be rotated. Then the manager says and I quote "well if you really want it done we can do it but your going to have to wait because there is a lady here for a brake job". Wow...... Ive been sitting here patiently for 45 minutes for a job that takes 5 to do while these two mechanics are gone probably burning one in the parking lot. This lady just walked in the door and has a 6:00 appointment, shouldnt I go first. Needless to say I didnt get my tires rotated and now have to do it myself in my drive way. I cannot believe a place would jeopardize a customer over something so simple as a tire rotation. I have literally spent thousands of dollars in this store over the past several years and get treated like this. Pep boys needs to fire everyone of those slackers working last night and start over. There are way to many places out there to buy auto parts, you should not have to put up with this crap

I wouldnt let these assholes inflate a bike tire. Really disappointed.... I usually do my own repairs but its -15 outside and snowy.... I know my passenger side bearing is bad. Ive confirmed it myself. I got the car in the air, removed the wheels and spun the hubs. I brought it in and asked for this to be replaced. They said that they "dont just do work" and would need to confirm that this part was bad first. A few hours later they call and tell me "Good news, your bearings are fine! You just need a backing plate by the rotor bent back!". I asked him to call me when it was ready. This was at 6:45pm. The next morning at 11am I called bc I still hadnt heard back. They tell me that I do have a bad bearing but they cant figure out which one. Then theres silence on the phone. I say "so what do we do?" the tech says "we dont do anything", silence....... (Great customer service). He says because they dont know which is bad they cant fix it. He refuses to do just the one bearing. So because they arent skilled enough to narrow down which one is bad he will ONLY replace both or none at all. I had to ask a bunch of questions to get him to even offer this solution. Why cant they just do one side, check to see if the noise is gone, and then either call it a day or replace the other one? Dont they want money? If I want something replaced, just do it, but dont make me force you into ripping me off by replacing parts that arent bad. What car shop calls you and says "I know a bearing is bad but I cant figure out which one so theres nothing we can do."? They acted like they just didnt want to do anything. The whole thing gave me a bad feeling about their abilities, Im taking my car somewhere else. I only gave them a shot bc I have a Discount Tire credit card. Update: When I went to pick my car up, after I wrote this review, there werent any employees in the shop! The retail manager came over to help me and said that the Service manager "ran home for 10 minutes, about 15 minutes ago. Hes the only one that knows where your car keys are". Other peoples keys were strewn around the counter but not mine. She searched for 10 minutes and eventually gave me my keys...... They seriously dont even have a designated spot for customers keys! She gave me my keys and took my word for it that I didnt owe any money..... TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!!!! Im so so sooooo thankful that I didnt let them touch my car anymore. Also they yanked on my parking brake cable, told me the cable was frozen, but left the cable tight so that my brake on that wheel was engaged when I tried to drive away.

Last week I had an extremely dangerous experience driving home. I hit a small bump on the road, and my front tires began to vibrate heavily. I barely had a chance to get off the road without losing control. I brought the vehicle to their service. I was busy for the day so I had someone else pay for it. I had a 10% off coupon, that the service writer said she would see it was deducted. $500 later they said it was a Pitman arm, and replaced it. Figuring they were on the ball with the diagnosis I confidently drove to work. Then on the way home, exiting from the freeway again the problem occurred again AT 65 MPH!!! I slid off ramp, and was able to regain control enough to stop it. Of course I call them and its slightly too late. Now tomorrow I have to miss work and bring it back to them. Well see what they do when they find out their "fix" failed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 07/01/2014 - I Shouldve known better than to give them another chance. Today I went to this Pep-Boys to get a tire replaced. I had been to this store before several times. I was greeted, the service writer let me know the cost, and said it should only be 20 minutes. After 30 minutes I walked back in the shop to notice the car still on a lift and all tires are still on it. I asked the guy that appeared to be assigned to my car (mainly because he seemed to be wandering aimlessly) how much longer it might be. His reply was "Sorry, parts havent brought the tire up yet, they must be backed up." I waited another 30 minutes, now an hour in to this "20 minute" service I ask to speak to the manager. He points at the one person now dealing with a line of 4 people. When I finally get to him I ask him what is going on with this? Why is this taking so long to get the part? He left and got the tire himself, and gave it to the technician. Another 45 minutes later he finally told me the car was ready. In the end he said hed take off $20. Which basically said heres $20 instead of good service. Going to Discount Tire from now on...
