I have been a customer at this Walmart since the day they opened their doors. The neighborhood did not want them there and fought it and, of course, Walmart won. Anyway, that history lesson is ancient history from 20 years. Over the years, I have seen this store go up and down many times. There was a dark period about 5 years ago where the employees were outright disrespectful and would take personal cell phone calls during their shift. The customer service has slightly improved over the past few years, not much really though. Yesterday, I needed a specific item which was not stocked properly. I rang the bell and waited 10 mintues for the guy in sporting goods to assist and he never came. I moved over to the paint section and received the same response - no answer to the bell and no employee in sight. After another 5 minutes I find an employee walking down the aisle and ask her for help. She called the manager and they said that they had 250 in stock. Neither the employee who was trying to help nor I could find the item. The employee said sorry and walked away so I left. I really needed to get this item at that specific time so was greatly disappointed. This is an isolated incident yet representative of the type of service you get at this Walmart. My other main complaint is that this Walmart has 20 cash registers yet there is rarely more than 1-2 cashiers staffing them. They route you to the self-service stations. There are two self-service stations of four registers each and one of the two is almost always closed. So, that leaves us with 4 self-service cash registers at a Walmart "Supercenter". This is almost always the case when I go there - four self-service stations to service the entire store. There are dozens of employees running around the store ignoring employees and virtually none of them are at the traditional cash registers. Not to mention, the self-service stations do not have clear instructions on how to get in line, causing arguments and conflicts between customers as to who gets to go to the next open register. A few months ago I had to referee a dispute between two people who were arguing who went next (they were actually both there after me). Anyhow, I negotiated a truce and let them both go in front of me. The thanks from both of them was to say nothing to me. The guy actually sneered at me derisively and I could only think that no good deed goes unpunished. This entire time the Walmart employee assigned to monitor the self-service stations stood there and did nothing. Bottom line: you will still get the great Walmart prices and that is the only reason for the two stars. On everything else they deserve one star.

Ordered tires online to be shipped to Apple Valley Walmart. Was notified they were ready to be picked up via email. Instructions in the email were simple, print off email, bring government ID, pick up tires from Tire and Lube Express. Park near T&L entrance and went inside. Showed them my email and was informed I had to go up front and pick them up. Showed them the email stating I was instructed to pick them up in the tire and lube department and was basically told tough luck, they were incapable of doing it in they department and that I had to pick them up from up front. 4- 265/70r17s do not come close to fitting inside a regular shopping cart. They didnt offer to bring them back to the back so they could I stall them like I had planned. Just good luck to me and tough luck. If I were disabled it would have been impossible. I went through the hassle but will never again have tires done at Apple Valley Walmart. If the instructions say something, thats the way it should be. Apple valley walmart should have a manager able to go back to tire and lube express and verify the pick up of items. Again, huge hassle and poor customer service. Highly dissatisfied.

I have had the worst experience here, I live about 5 minutes away from Walmart, and the customer service and management is by far the worst, the food is always out of date and when I complained about the open and outdated food she told me they have never had that issue before and accused me of lying!! And if you need assistance, forget that the employees are so rude and disrespectful they take forever answering the phone and when they finally do they are no help, instead of directing me to the appropiate person to assist me they just hang up. I think they need to hire an entire new staff, and they need to do better on their outdated food and cleaning. Get it together Apple Valley Walmart!!!!

all i needed was a car battery on the fly. it was 6:30 pm by the time i actually got help it was 7:00 pm. i ended up leaving empty handed because the automotive section closed at 7:00. i was there before 7:00 there for i should have been able to still buy a battery. long story short its Walmart but it has to be one of the worst around i dont even think apple valley should have let them build again. the shelves are never stocked employees just stand around and talk and are rude when someone has a question. i believe its time to shut this place down apple valley is to good to have a store like this.

DONT go to this Walmart at 2 a.m UNLESS you want to be harassed by a Police Officer a few minutes after getting to your car EVEN THOUGH I WAS DOING NOTHING WRONG!!! I DONT believe it was just a COINCIDENCE that they showed up out of nowhere,I THINK THAT THE STORE WAS BEHIND IT!!! I FEEL that I was PROFILED for looking young or something like that! TOTAL BS BECAUSE IM 34 NOT 13!!! Very terrible & SCARY situation & makes me NEVER want to go to this Walmart again,I HAD JUST SHOPPED NORMAL FOR NOT VERY LONG & CAME OUT SO WTH?!!! DONT COP CALL ON SOMEONE WHO DID ABSOULUTELY NOTHING WRONG!!!

I received the worst customer service experience of my life at this store. What good are the employees? We had two full carts and were forced to go to self check out due to how few lanes were open and how long their lines were. We received absolutely no help in self check out with our large items and machine malfunctions. A customer bad mouthed me right in front of an employee. As we were leaving the greater made us come back to check our receipt and the self check out lady and the other man just stared with an annoying grin. Absolutely horrible store and people.

I had a checkout clerk dressed in her hijab refuse to scan my lunch meat because she said she cannot touch anything pork. After showing her and finally convincing her it was turkey meat and not pork she rang it up. I respect her religious beliefs but if she cannot do the job she was hired to do then she needs to move to another area. It was not like I was asking her to eat what she thought was pork and it was tightly sealed. Come on!! Do the job youre hired to do! I know people who have been fired for not doing the job they were hired to do. pork
