I cant say that this place actually helps people. This company disguises itself as a nonprofit to actually profit more. They claim to help low income people that are 200% below the federal poverty level. They target people who are receiving government assistance such as childcare, food support (snap), section 8, head start etc. This is a perfect example of the rich taking from the poor to keep getting richer. A 501(c) (3) is free from federal income tax if the business is for a charity, educational or religious purpose. I also want to add that because this is the case a lot of their computers and equipment are donated to them, meaning they pay little to nothing for the equipment that they are fixing just enough to resell. On their website they create an illusion that they will accept a “$35-50 donation" for a computer or laptop when truthfully they sell these items for much more. The "nicer" laptops and computers are $150 or more and then also since it is a used piece of equipment there may be repairs needed which will also cost you more money depending on how many issues the computer has. Daily items are put out and they decide what to charge for them, so if you are one of those people who can qualify for a computer dont expect to walk in and be treated as a person that has a need and may not be able to afford a computer; if you dont have the amount that they are asking for to get a computer you will walk away with nothing. My point is if a person is living 200% below the federal poverty line how can they afford one of your computers? The cheapest price you can pay for a computer is $50 in which you will receive a very big old school computer monitor and a desktop that is fairly reasonable, a keyboard and mouse will cost you an extra $15-$20 and a desktop is not very convenient for anyone these days really. An individual living below the federal poverty level may have a hard time being able to come up with $150. In the end this does not help poor people; working in technology and e-wasting a lot of our old computers and laptops I know for sure that a lot of the computers they are receiving are outdated, slow, and have physical damage most of the time. This is upsetting to me because this company plays the same game everyone else does, they rob from the poor to gain profit. The work mainly for profit and they just get out of paying taxes because they are a 501(c) (3). They arent helping break barriers by giving parents a computer to find a job or even work from home or go to school. Overall I would respect them more if they just ran a business that sold refurbished laptops (which by the way there are several websites that offer refurbished computers around the same price this company sells theirs for)

PCs for People lied to me about the laptop computer specs and told me I had 90 days I could return it. I was very clear that I have disabilities and was in severe pain when there. A friend gave me a ride and was waiting for me. He heard the same as I was told. I was given very little info on the computer specs as well as wrong info about the computer even when I was clear I needed certain specs. I feel I was targeted and preyed on to make a sale of an inferior computer not appropriate for my uses despite my being clear what I needed. After buying it and home with it, I looked up the specs on a different computer. I never used the computer I had just bought. I immediately called them explaining I was not sold what I was told I was being sold. I was then told I cant return it for my money back to be able to get a computer I can use. I cannot read the 14" screen size laptop. They may have low cost repair prices, but they have no honor to tell the truth about what they are selling and return policies. I qualify for and would like to be able to get repairs on computers if and when I need, but, I dont like being rushed and lied to to make a quick sale. Their sales policy is in such fine print difficult to read and I was rushed to just sign "here". Beware of their lies.

Very fast repair service- brought my computer in and it was ready in a few days and much cheaper than anywhere else. They can get really busy later in the afternoon- so its better to be there early in the morning. Friendly, welcoming staff.
