Dont bother unless you are selling gold. The employees had basic manners and were fairly nice, but what a weird experience. First, there is apparently some (unposted) minimum amount of silver you have to bring in for them to buy it. They have signs posted listing how much they pay, by weight, for gold and silver which is nice to know up front. I had a couple handfuls of silver jewelry I never wear, and no one wants, so I just wanted to get rid of it. They weighed and kept lecturing about how silver isnt worth very much (yes, I know, but I dont care as I could use a couple bucks more than some jewelry I never wear) and said it was worth several dollars. Fine, sounded good to me, but the guy at the counter that pushed the jewelry back to me without really explaining why they wouldnt buy several dollars worth of silver. If youre not familiar with this chain, they apparently only have one location, the one in Roseville, with a showroom where they actually sell stuff in a store front setting. This location, like others, is like going to the bank. Meaning, you stand in line in a room that has nothing but some people working in teller like booths behind bullet proof glass. I did see someone getting back their large TV they had taken a loan on at this location, but what else they actually give loans for is a mystery to me. Because I saw this, I came back with a couple items, which I knew (not guessing, I did my research) go for a couple hundred dollars each when sold at other pawn stores in the area. Decided to try this place for some reason and what a waste of time. Someone came out from behind the bulletproof glass to look at them, proceeded to look up on Ebay how much they were selling for (and these are items that no one in their right mind would list or buy on Ebay, they are something you want to see and buy in person unless you are completely crazy) and tried to tell me they werent worth more than $40. There was some debate among the employees about offering me $20 for one of the items but ultimately voted to not buy it off me. They also told me they dont do loans on these things (despite their web site saying differently.) I am not joking or exaggerating, I then listed these items on Craigslist and in less than 4 hours had sold the one they said they wouldnt even consider buying because it was worth practically nothing, in a cash deal for about $200. The owners of Motor City Pawn Brokers might be interested in how clueless all of their employees are, as you missed out on a hot item that they all tried to claim was worthless. I also questioned them about another valuable item I have (that I was willing to part with and didnt bring with me at the time) that their web site specifically mentions doing loans for or buying. Again, an employee told me they dont do loans for that, they would only buy it. As for everyone else who is in a tough spot, I guess dont bother unless you have hundreds of pounds of silver or any amount of gold.

Today was my first experience dealing with Motor City Pawn. Based on past experiences with other Pawn Brokers I was somewhat apprehensive, but was pleasantly surprised. My Broker (Mike) was very courteous, friendly, and most of all respectful. The process took less than 15 minutes. The amount offered and the terms of repayment were very fair. I would have no hesitations recommending their services and look forward to doing business with them again.

Ive been been to this place several times so I can give a accurate review. Today I had two go pro hero 3. A black and silver editions. I first went to 8mile pawn to get a price quote from them, which was $200. Motor city pawn gave me 225 and 160 respective. They are respectful courteous and professional. Will go back

This is the best place to go for a loan or to sell. They have always paid me more for my items than other pawn shops, usually $5-10 more, but several times the difference has been more than $20 and i even got $35 more for an item than American Jewelry and Loan had paid me!
