Poor is an inadequate description of this store! . Because employs are discontent with their jobs is no reason to take it out on customers. Brcause of my job I do shop after midnight. There was a problem with the self serve register and the supervisors response to me was "What Do you want? Nothing as polite as "Can I help you?. I did forget to mention that I was waiting over 10 minutes for a supervisor to come and fix the self serve register. Of course, with no security at the front. people walked out without paying for merchandise. I was transferred when I called Meijer headquarters I was transferred to a customer service supervisor who told me yes there are problems with the store and we are working on. It. I had a cab waiting, any longer I would have had to pay waiting time on a cab. I was offered no substantive apology just platitudes. This is not the first time Ive had problems as a handicap person shopping, but already this post is too long. Best advice.... Avoid this store like the plague!

As a local to this area I can honestly say if you have the opportunity, shop somewhere else. General availability of items is poor and the aisles are often bottle-necked with pallets of product, crowds and loitering boorish employees. Produce is difficult to obtain because it is rarely stocked (especially sale items). Poor staff scheduling means lines are often long with few of the 20+ lanes open and about 10 PM you can expect to wait a good 15 minutes or longer to use self-check out lanes (since no cashiers are scheduled). The only good qualities are earned by well-lit aisles and lower Meijer prices. When this store was built upon the old Tel Twelve Mall site, the parking lot layout was poorly planned and it seems the stores size has compounded the problem. Staff that was mass hired at the start and over the years since has NEVER improved and is a malady on your entire shopping experience from availability of product to check-out.

Recently went to this store. There was a cashier, Lafrance, who was the most racist person I have ever encountered in my life. Beyond rude, rolled her eyes at me several times when I asked for help in self checkout, yet had no problem helping the African American gentleman in the checkout next to me. Disrespected me and the person I was with several times, and even was saying racial slurs under her breath. We even had people approach us on the way out, giving us their phone numbers and information telling us we should file a complaint, and that they would be witnesses to this. When I spoke to the manager Greg, he could not have cared less. Will be calling corporate to report, but this behavior shouldnt be accepted by an associate at Meijer. Absolutely outraged by her behavior. She should be fired. Ill be taking this as far up the ladder as I can. Beware of this store.

Southfield location NEEDS improvement ASAP! This is a area that is full of businesses so people tend to run errands on their lunch breaks. I was there today, there were NO CARTS inside the store for more then 30 minutes (I checked twice while I was there) I had to go get my own cart from the parking lot. All while there were 3 employees sitting/standing inside the entrance as well as 5 employees outside the entrance smoking?? When I said something to the both sets, they looked at me and then looked the other way. The General Manger needs to get his/her stuff together and hire the right team OR Meijer should hire the right team for him/her... I have never had a good experience at this location and I have been going in for almost 5 years now... ONLY because its close to my office...

This Meijer is disappointing compared to others. Navigating the parking lot at times can be hazardous, carts are often not policed up and the entry/exit points arent well thought out. The bathrooms inside are consistently filthy. Inside, its often hard to find an associate because they wander from their areas, hide, or stand around in gaggles chatting each other up. Checking out at either the self check or cashier lanes has to be the worst part about the experience here. There never seem to be enough lanes open and wait times can get ridiculous. The staff at the cashier points usually have about as much warmth and skill at customer care and service as an iceberg floating in space, and often times are outright rude or under the influence of something.

This Meijer is by far the worst Meijer I have ever been to. It is the closest Meijer to my home and is across the street from my gym so I have shopped here many times due to convenience. However, I have had enough with this store. Not one time have I been to this Meijer and not had to search the parking lot for a cart, the employees at this location are rude, they are always low or completely out of fresh produce, their salad isle is never stocked and the meat department has not had any brand of ground turkey the last 4 times I have shopped here. I usually shop here after 8pm and dont think I have ever seen an actual person running a check out line, there seems to only ever be U-scan lines open. I refuse to ever give this Meijer business again.

Standing in line with 12 people in line at the customer service desk with one person at the register. I called the customer care line and complained and they connected me to the director of the store who told me that all the staff were on the checkout registers. I suggested that she needs to get behind the register herself. Lisa, the store director stated that she has to "run the store" and has to be available. I stated that she is available if she is in the store and has technology to communicate with her staff. She continued to argue with me and stated she would not come and assist the one staff that was at the desk. I HATE this Meijer.

Lately, this location is having trouble keeping its shelves stocked..... K-cup Coffee supplies are unacceptable... even their own brands are scarce; Meijers Bran Hazelnut is very popular but remain absent from their shelves; 8 Oclock Columbian & Original are hard to find. Yet their shelves are full of unpopular favors... Cran-raspberry juice (Ocean Spray) bran is a hit and miss adventure; Egg Beaters shelves are often empty.... these are just a few items off the top of my head. My point is this store is having difficulty supplying customers with popular items.... somebody is sleeping on the job. Computers can help, if they use them???

I hate going into this Meijer they are always out of something to be open 24 hours I expected way more inventory and everytime I buy milk from this one it always goes bad before the due date. And no matter what day or time of day holiday or not there are only 4 maximum lanes open only its always the self checkout that is open and usually most of them are down until an employee needs to check their items out then they open it then close it back! This Meijer sucks I have tried several times to give it a chance but everytime is a bad time! Now I have to travel farther out! Thanks for nothing!
