Owners will talk to you about games and what they do, as far as restoring everything; ask them about their personal favorite games, too. The man is not mean, he is just older - know how to talk to him and he is pleasant (enough). They have a truly great selection of titles, from nearly all systems (Even master system). All games are clean, scratch free, and have new save batteries in the cartridges. As many will say, the pricing is starting to get a little too expensive. I understand things are repaired and cleaned, but it seems as though ALL of the pricing is determined by the higher prices on ebays buy it now listings, rather than true "book" value of the games. Sometimes, this is fair, for collections or boxed games. I used to like to go and look....but I cant justify, say, $30 on Pokemon Silver. I would love it if some games were left uncleaned with an add-on $ service tag attached, for batteries, scratch removal etc. Still, WAY better pricing, service, and quality than you will find from the reseller kiosk at Gibraltar Trade center...you know which one I mean, if youre in the area... Also, if you are in the market for a retro system and do not have the knowledge or means to replace parts yourself, this IS the place to buy them. Consoles get the same treatment as games, plus new pin connectors installed, a warranty, and whatever else you would want. I still want to love this store and would be there WEEKLY, if games were priced differently.

Owner and his wife are some very nice people, Im willing to pay a little more than I would online in order to ensure all my stuff is in the best possible condition. In one visit to the store I bought about 20 or 25 ps2 games and havent had a single issue with any of them while playing. I cant get that kind of quality gurantee when buying stuff off the internet. Plus they have cables and what not for older consoles as well, I havent had any problems with the power cable I bought from them for my ps2. I havent bought any consoles from them, just games and cables, but the only times Ive seen consoles going for cheap is when buying from a friend or a beat up one from a garage sale going for 10 bucks that might work. Im not sure what the gripe about the prices are. Ive looked to the internet (mostly amazon) and have found that most of the games Ive purchased from the store cost about the same or sometimes less than the game from Amazon when including 2-3 dollars in shipping. If you have something like amazon prime I guess youre saving like a dollar or two in some cases? I wouldnt go so far as to call the store "pricey". In my opinion, Mind Games provides quality, you cant put a price on quality.

Great selection of retro games, especially NES 8-bit. Small selection of PS3, but excellent pricing. Xbox 360 selection is larger than the PS3 selection. But 90% of the store is dedicated to retro games and accessories/systems. If you wanted to get an older system, or are hunting for a certain retro game, this is the place to go. Pricing varies on the game, how rare it is, demand for it, etc. Since these games are no longer made, you have to pay whatever anybody asks for it. That said, the pricing at this store is very reasonable. I didnt buy any retro stuff, but did spend a lot of time looking and didnt see any prices which were outrageous. As for selling games, a store like this isnt the best place to do that. Sell the newer games to Gamestop and put your retro stuff on eBay or Craigslist. Mom and pop stores like this are valuable for what they are selling, not what they will give you for selling. I recommend this shop. Check it out.

Owner seemed like a great guy. Gave me advice on specific models of the system I was looking at purchasing. Him and his wife have cleaned many games for me. They always come out looking flawless. I came in with a disk that had a small bite mark in it and didnt play, he fixed the disk and showed me on a ps2 in the shop that it worked now before charging me. Now thats customer service! While I probably wouldnt trade in games at any small game shops. Theyre used game and system prices are very hard to beat. Ive found lower prices, but you end up paying maybe 5$(10-20$ for systems) less, and you get no booklet, or a scratched up disc, or a system with all original parts, and no warantee. Id rather pay a few more $ and get a product that looks and performs like its brand new. If youre not going here expecting to haggle like its a flee mart, then youll be very satisfied.

Heres the thing the owner is nice and knowledgeable but he also has done some things to make me not want to return. First he started smoking inside the store I may not have any breathing condition but this wasnt appreciated, I went in there seeking a cable for a system to which he said he doesnt have it...as Im driving away he flags be down and says he did have it...OK but the wall connector didnt work so I fixed it myself. Now on 4/15 I went to buy a Dreamcast and not only are all of his systems overpriced but the Dreamcast I bought was very dirty unlike the owner and his assistant insisted and the drive needed to be calabrated to play any of my Dreamcast games so twice now they have lied, what a surprise I ask for a vmu and they say they dont have it then they say they do. Im disappointed but you should see gamequest at 21 and grariot they are a real mess.

Amazing place. I recently had went there today for purchase of Pokemon Fire Red. When I walked in I saw a lot of N64 controllers hung up, and 3DS games on the right. Looking for the GBA games, I walked through the store. As I did I saw many different types of games, a lot of SNES games. The lady had asked if I need help as she saw I was searching around, and I asked for the Pokemon Fire Red behind the glass. She grabbed it and told me that all of the Pokemon games batterys are replaced with fresh, new ones. She even informed me about how there are many fake copies of the Gameboy Pokemon games and told me about how the ones here are all 100% real. In the end, the game was a real official copy and I was satisfied with my experience at the store. There were few games that they wont have, awesome store run by an older friendly couple. :)

I am a regular at this store and I must say that the owners are great! This is more of a specialty store for game collectors and retro gamers. If you enjoy playing older games on older consoles this is a great place to find old gems and accessories but do not expect to find the latest releases at this store. The prices are usually fair if you consider the condition of the items, scarcity and demand and the fact that you get a 30 day warranty. You might pay less for a game online but you have no guarantee the game will arrive in the condition posted online, it may not work and you wont enjoy a warranty. Some reviews claim that the man is hard to deal with. He is just a businessman who routinely deals with spoiled children as this store resides in an upper middle class suburban area. Give this store a visit and decide for yourself.
