I went to Hansons in Royal Oak today and there was a sales person waiting by the door asking if I needed assistance or just wanted to look around. I did need help, so I told him that my arches tend to hurt after my exercise classes. He asked me to take off my shoes and then watched me as I walked toward him and then away from him. He pulled a pair of Brooks off the shelf and while I tried those on he pulled out two more shoes (one was a pair of Asics I had been looking at at Dunhams & Dicks - the price of the Asics was within a $1 difference from both Dunhans and Dicks) I went back and forth trying them on a couple of times times and then decided that I liked his first selection the best. I dont usually like to give out my personal information, but I decided to let him put my information in their computer. I ended up saving 10% because I am a member of a gym! The return policy was not mention and I did not ask, but there was a large sign at the counter that they only do exchanges and no refunds. Something to keep in mind if you are unsure of your purchase. I would probably try the Asics if for some reason these didnt work, but I did also notice a nice selection of Tees and shorts.

Nice experience so far. What I liked the best is that I didnt have to go to a mall and fight a crowd. They ran a foot analysis on my feet that showed I had a high arch. The treadmill gave an approximate idea how the shoes felt while walking/running. They let try them outside the shop to give the feel of them on cement and asphalt. Im having problems with the left shoe and will see if a return is possible. Ive had the pair of Asics for almost a month and worn them 3 times before the problem started. The right shoe feels great. I hope that theyre guaranteed for the price I paid. Well, I returned the Asics and ended up getting a pair of Brooks. I do miss the gel insoles that the Asics had built right into the shoes. The Brooks cost me another $30 but they do feel better on both of my feet. The salesman seemed to be a little perturbed that my Asics were a tad dirty. I wore them indoors only and they were dusty. I hope they don’t try to resell them. I believe the left shoe to be defective. I still do recommend the Hanson store. They seemed to stay pretty busy but still give good attention to individual customers.

I went in after reading reviews… I had been fitted incorrectly at other stores and ended up with shoes that made my right ankle hurt. The first time I went in to Hansons I mistakenly went on Run Night (Wednesday), which has 20% off of purchases which is cool, but theyre really busy. I recommend if you need help to find the right shoe, avoid Wednesdays after 5pm. If you know what youre looking for, Wednesdays are great! I got a pair of shoes but ended up in pain on my first run. I sent an email and got a response back that same day asking me to come back in. The manager spent about a half hour helping find the right combination of shoe, insert and lace-tying method for a comfortable run. Great attention to detail! I highly recommend them!

By far the worst customer service of anywhere I have ever been. The employees and owner alike were rude and less than helpful. I am new to the area and wanted to support the local guys. Hansons has a zero return policy of which I was extremely frustrated to discover after one of the employees pushed me to buy a shoe different from the one I was looking for (they didnt carry the one I wanted). I was reluctant to buy it until he told me I could return it as long as I didnt wear it outside. Well that was a flat out lie. They must get paid on comission so buyer beware! The owner called me a liar and was unwilling to resolve the issue.

I had the best experience there today. The manager (Cory) took great time with me. I am a new runner and was experiencing shin splints after getting a new pair of running shoes at a different Hansens location (after only wearing them a few times). He took alot of time to talk to me over the phone and then in person. He actually replaced my shoes for free (I had only worn them a few times)... because I was a new runner and he said he wanted to keep me running. I will def. be going back to this location in the future!!!! I didnt like the experience I had at the Grosse Pointe location - it is worth the trip to this Royal Oak location!!!

I visited Hansons for the first time on 5/10/17 around 6:30pm. Melanie greeted me as I walked in. She was patient and eager to help me find the right shoes for my new hobby. I explained that I am not a hardcore runner so, Melanie helped me to find a shoe that was supportive and fit me well, but wouldnt put a giant dent in my wallet. She was very knowledgable and made me feel at ease. And I did not feel rushed to make a decision or pressure to make a purchase. That same evening, I took my new shoes on their first run. Thank you, Melanie! I love the look and fit of my new runners! You deserve a raise!

Every time Ive been here the staff has been wonderful and super helpful. I came in originally to to look at different shoes to help with foot pain I was having while running. They knew exactly what to get me and my problems were gone overnight! They have a great policy where if you dont wear the shoes outside (indoor track/treadmill) and find out you arent happy with the product, you can return them for a swap or store credit. Not many other places do that!

I learned quickly you get what you pay for in running shoes. Hansons has knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff with a wide selection of shoes and a nice selection of running accessories. Youll have a better experience then those other big box brick and mortar sporting goods stores and youll definately get the right shoes for you. if you are reasonably serrious about running then head to Hansons.

I bought running shoes here last year. They put you on a scale to see your weight distribution, and fit you to the proper shoe. It costs a little more than other places, but service is worth it. Now when I dont run, I know my feet got their moneys worth.

The shop is owned and staffed by dedicated runners and it shows. They know their products and know what kind of shoe works best for different needs. I also like to support Hansons because they sponsor a running team and give back to the sport.

Best place bar none to get top rate running gear and advice. Staff is loaded with avid runners and professionals. Hansons also hosts group runs from all of their stores always with someone to run with anyone new to the group.

Actually I was here on business for several hours, working in the store. I observed the staff during this time, they will almost bend over backwards for their customers. Friendly staff & clean store.
