Szott turned a bumpy road into smooth sailing! Four months ago my husband and I purchased a Ford Flex from Mike Khan and Steve Gabbara. We had been burned in the past with "buy here pay here" lots, and were nervous about going to a big dealership. We have less than perfect credit, but were hoping to repair it with a new car loan while also obtaining a reliable family vehicle. The process for us took a lot longer than expected, we had to go back several times before paperwork was even signed. As this was our first experience with a large dealership, this may be totally common. Mike was very upfront with us about our options with our income and credit. When we started our initial application the vehicle was listed online for a price, but as we were filling out the application we overheard Mike talking to someone about it being listed wrong and it needing to be fixed. He then came over and explained that there had been an error and the price needed to be increased by several hundred dollars, but because we were filling out the papers we could have it for a little less than the new price. Having been the victims of a bait and switch before it felt very odd, but we wanted to believe that it was an honest mistake and accepted. Mike and the finance manager worked VERY hard to get us approved for a loan that we could afford! Our credit made it very difficult, so we were very grateful for all of the extra effort that went into the process. Our big hiccup came when we signed the papers, paid the majority of our down payment, and left with the vehicle just needing to be detailed. We were guaranteed that it would be ready for pickup in just a few days. During detailing a small mechanical problem was noticed, so it was sent to service for a quick repair, stalling our pick up a few more days. Then the call came that the vehicle had irreparable damage and would not be sold. We were devastated! We were now out a large chunk of money for the down payment, had no car to show for it, and had to wait for Mike to find us another vehicle with similar miles for about the same price. Due to distrust from previous dealerships, I was convinced something fishy was going on. We considered several times demanding our money back and going elsewhere. I AM GLAD THAT I DIDNT! I instead contacted Sales Manager Steve Gabbara and left a message detailing my concerns and explaining how upset we both were. He IMMEDIATELY called me back and apologized profusely. He said that he would personally oversee finding us a new vehicle and finishing out the process. Steve made good on his word and found us a fantastic Ford Flex with less miles and more features (hello sunroof!) very quickly. After just a few more days it was ours. We are in love with our new vehicle and will NEVER go to a rinky-dink dealership again! The entire process was not smooth, but I do think that it was an isolated incident and it was handled in a very professional manner. Things do not always go the way they are supposed to, but the team at Szott pulled it together and we ended up with a great vehicle and a new dealership. I cant give 5 stars in good faith because it was not a perfect experience, but I have high hopes for the next one!

In April of this year I purchased a beautiful 2004 Ford F250 with 91,000 miles from Szott Ford in Holly. When we came to look at the truck it looked great. Among the other things that we looked for when we checked the vehicle over, we noticed that the under body was spotless. We were told that the truck was mechanically sound. The morning after we purchased the truck things went south quickly. Jim, the driver of the truck, was approaching the vehicle when he noticed puddles under the truck. Upon closer inspection he realized that the truck was leaking oil everywhere. Since this problem was clearly present before we purchased the vehicle and obviously must have been noticed by the staff we feel that we should have been informed of it. Instead, we feel that we were misled and that the vehicle was misrepresented. A truck with an obvious oil leak is not worth the price that we paid. While I completely understand that a dealership is not responsible for any future problems with an “as-is” vehicle that may arise after purchase, I do believe that they are responsible for problems that were previously existing and that were, at best, not brought to our attention, and, at worst, actively covered up for the purpose of selling a broken truck at a "great condition" price. We contacted the dealership about the issue, and brought the truck in to have it looked over by their mechanics who determined that there were leaking gaskets on the engine. We were told that they would look into the issue and get back to us about the potential of fixing the problems. We never heard back from them, and when we called back several times were told that they were still looking into the issue. It is now July, and I have accepted that they plan to do nothing to resolve this issue for us. We could have purchased the same truck from a private seller for a much lower price, but decided to purchase from Szott because they had this to say about their used vehicles: “Subjected to our rigid inspections and our equally stringent standards, these pre-owned vehicles are ready to run for miles to come.” Next time, I’ll take my chances with the guy selling the truck on the side of the road.

Ive driven foreign all of my adult life and decided it was time to drive American and time to try leasing. Szott had some great on-line deals. Even though they are a 40 mile drive from home, the saleswoman I reached on the phone sounded so pleasant, I had to meet her. Not sure what to expect, I brought the contents on my car in a bag and entered the easy to find Szott dealership...to meet Stacie. Her smile is as BRIGHT as her voice and her personality and professionalism were far above what Ive ever experienced at dealerships. I was prepared to walk away without a car, and get back in my 12 year old wheels, defeated...but Stacie and her manager kept pushing for my trade in price to get to where it needed to be so that I could afford my monthly payments. I didnt have to beg or plead, they did all the work. Stacie made my experience easy because she is a working mom like me, drove the Escape that I wanted to lease, and spoke to me in relatable terms. I loved my test drive with the Escape and felt it safe for my family. In addition, I loved the look, the feel, and the features. Mostly, I loved how literally everything was done for me. All I had to do was listen, learn, ask, listen more, sign paperwork, and drive off in my beautiful new car. The best part was Stacie synching my phone to my car and giving me her cell number. She said to call / text her anytime because shes THERE FOR ME. That is something I wasnt used to hearing, but that made me feel SAFE. A sign that I had made the right decision. I was referred to Szott by a friend, interested in a deal I saw on the internet, and won over by Stacie and her manager. I look forward to a lifetime relationship with Szott Ford. You really are the best of the best. Thank you for making a tough year end on a high note!
