I have never had my character assaulted or been dishonored to the extent that I was with Good Car Company. I purchased a GMC Envoy with an extended warranty in December. I asked upon purchase that a few things be fixed and they did agree to do that. One of those things was taken care of, the other 2 were not. Within the first 2 days of purchase I noticed a sound that freaked me out. It ended up being the wheel bearing, and they said theyd take care of it. Days were passing and they werent telling me when theyd do the work, meanwhile the sound was getting louder and, having my 3 kids with me all the time, I was getting really worried. I finally called and told them I would just bring it up there that day. They scrambled and set an appointment for me the next day. The gentleman on the phone told me theyd give me their Buick terraza to drive for the day. Sounded great. When I got there, they told me Id be driving this other van. I wish I could upload pictures here because I took them. That day I had to go to several meetings and all my friends and family got to see how I was treated. This van, an old ford minivan, had a shattered rear view mirror, the check engine light was on, the low tire pressure signal was on, the power locks wouldnt work, and it had less than a quarter tank of gas. It didnt feel or sound safe, and I had my kids with me all day, but I felt like I had no other option since they were doing the repair on my SUV. After that day, I hoped Id never have to see them again. The other repairs that hadnt been done I just told them to ship me the parts and Id have my mechanic take care of it. But then, 30 days after Id purchased the envoy, my power steering blew. I managed to get it in to my mechanic and called up the warranty company. They said they had nothing on file under my name or my VIN number. After calls back and forth to Good Car Company and the warranty company for 3 days, finally I got news that the warranty wouldnt cover my power steering lines anyways, and its a $630 repair. So at that point I felt really scammed. Id been out a vehicle for nearly the whole week, with the weekend approaching when nobody would be available, and my warranty didnt seem to be valid though Id paid $230 for it. It had only been a month since Id purchased the vehicle and things had been so awful. I called Good Car Company to see if they were going to try to make things right, but instead, the guy who answered the phone, Thom, called me a b*tch and a "crazy broad" to the owner of the company. Then the owner, Joe, talked to me personally and continued to bully me by claiming I should have called sooner (Id been calling endlessly that week), should have given them an estimate (they never asked me for one), and he had no interest in the fact that theyd not completed what theyd said theyd do, that his employee had just slandered me horribly, or that they had treated me and my children poorly with their "auction van" loaned to me for the day. He claimed he saw my vehicles and that because I live on a dirt road, he wasnt going to put me in an $8000 vehicle. It was one day (and we do all live in Michigan)! So to sum it up, I bought a vehicle that had hidden problems that Good Car Company didnt want to deal with. They gave me worse than poor customer service, they hurt me personally and shamed me. Please beware, the prices may look good but it is SO not worth the disappointment later. They are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau, or any other accrediting organizations.

This google review is a little overdue, but I recently bought a Mazda CX-7 from the Good Car Co. This was after my previous car had been totaled out in an accident I was not at fault for, so the way this company took care of my needs was really helpful and eased my nerves. Im a 22 year old female and my dad was with me when purchasing the vehicle. Tom was very hospitable and fun to talk to, not at all the typical condescending sexist attitude towards me that I generally expect from car guys... He made sure all of our questions about the car and price were answered thoroughly. After I took the car home, my battery unexpectedly died (there was no way to tell how old it was) and Mike personally picked me up and bought me a new battery (and wiper blades) on a weeknight. Even though I had one more problem with my air conditioning unit after that, the company took care of it right away and made taking care of the problem as easy as possible for me. These guys are definitely trustworthy and go WAY above and beyond to make sure you are driving away with a reliable vehicle. I enjoy my car very much now! I hopefully wont be buying another car for a long time, but I would tell all of my friends on the East side of Michigan to look for their next vehicle here!

I have been buying cars from Mike at Goodcar Company since 1995. I have probably purchased 10-12 cars myself and recommended friends and family to Mike as well. I have never been disappointed or gotten a bad car. I tell people that Mike has x-ray eyes when he looks at cars. He can spot a problem from 50 ft away that I could not see if I was sitting on top of the car. I trust Mike enough that I have bought cars from him over the phone without seeing them. Recently I decided to was time to replace a Pontiac Montana that I had purchased from Mike 8 years ago. I told him I wanted an inexpensive commuter car. A few weeks later he called me and said he had found a car he thought was perfect for me but but that he hoped the age of the vehicle wouldnt scare me off. Long story short I am now driving a 21 year old Nissan Altima that has zero rust and only $59,000 miles. When I ask people what year they think it is they have guessed it was a 2005 or 2006. You can deal with Goodcar Company with confidence.

My experience at The Good Car Co prove that they are only "good", "honest", and "trustworthy" on their terms. My car required over $2000 worth of repairs in the first 2 months of owning. About 1/3 were due to old age, and I expected that. However, one problem in particular arose as a fault of the mechanics the Good Car Co uses. I took the car to one of the service places on the warranty. They told me the problem was too invasive for them and to take it to the dealership. The dealership that the previous work on the car was not done in a quality manner. When I contacted the Good Car Co, they said that they would only help if I drove over an hour and had their mechanics, the ones who messed up in the first place, fix it. That is not honesty or integrity.

The Good Car Company in Fenton is run by great guys, who have a nack for finding quality used cars. I was not sure which vehicle would best suit my needs and after searching the internet, to the point of information overload, consulted with Mike at Good Car. He helped me narrow my focus by weighing the pros and cons of multiple vehicles. Once I decided on a Ford Escape, he worked diligently to find a mint condition vehicle. My 2004 looks brand new and still has the new car smell! Mike is ethical, honest and very patient; qualities which I tested thoroughly through out the car buying process. The guys (especially Mike) at the Good Car turned a stressful decision, into an enjoyable experience! I highly recommend the Good Car Company!!
