Im so in love with Literati. Heres what I want in a bookstore... I want to be able to slowly walk around a selection of great books. I want the people who work there to be knowledgeable and friendly, but also let me just stroll around slowly. I want high ceilings and aesthetically pleasing decorations so I feel comfortable. Finally, I want to feel good supporting the place when I buy books. Slowly walk with great books? Check. Perfect staff? Check. Nice environment? Check. Run by good people? Check. So I love it. Walking in here feels good. The books are respected and treated well, the staff has placed hand-written info cards next to the books theyve loved and recommend, and local writers books can be found here. And so buying stuff here feels good. Among other reasons, like supporting the written word on the printed page, they have a rewards club! Such a needed and welcome addition to Ann Arbor!

I always really enjoy visiting here! The typewriter they have downstairs is really a unique touch and its fun to write a little message. It is always so pretty inside too, they had book Christmas trees around the holidays. I wish it were a little bigger, but I have to say that if I ever cant find a book, the staff is always so happy to order it. They also have fun bookish gifts too, like their Out of Print tee-shirts. I feel like this bookstore does such a beautiful job with their book selections too. For instance, I bought a book of letters to Santa Claus for my mom for Christmas that I never would have thought to buy but it jumped out at me while I was browsing.

This is a cute little bookstore in downtown Ann Arbor. They have a variety of selections of books with suggestions from the people that worked there. I probably couldve spent a couple hours there if it wasnt so crowded. It was hard to just stand and try to find a good book because people were alway trying to get through not actually looking at the books but rather being social in a bookstore. The basement of nonfiction was great because no one was down there. The bookstore also has a coffee shop upstairs with limited seating. Overall I walked away with some great new reads.

The selection was really disappointing. It was mostly best sellers and liberal books. I read everything--I am currently listening to Carl Sagans Cosmos on Audible. But I want a bookstore to be relatively neutral in selection. This stores selection is clearly ideologically slanted, and very limited. (For example, their "religion section" is a single shelf that didnt have a bible) There arent very many classics or older books either.

In a era of digital downloads, Literati takes you back in time and makes you wonder why we stopped going to the bookstore in the first place. A well known and written about local favorite, their staff selections are one of the highlights when it comes to picking your next book companion for hours of reading. Literati coffee (upstairs) and the cozy basement setting makes you want to move in and never leave.

Cool bookstore in the basement and main floor, with a cafe and small events space on the second floor. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and small stationary items and quirky books are found throughout. Ive never been to any of their events, but I heard they vary widely as it depends on the speaker or book author. Definitely a nice place to check out if youre in the area.

I can always find the new releases I want to read, but the staff is the real draw here - they can recommend the hidden gems in your preferred genre. I live in DC but visit every time Im in Michigan. I think at least half of my Literati bought books are currently on loan to DC coworkers and friends because I cant resist sharing such good reads.

My girlfriend and I came in here for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved the store was very quaint and very well put together I love the organization and I love the selection highly recommend checking this out if you like books at all and honestly if youre from out of town I would recommend coming out and looking at it still.

This place has a very limited selection and everything tends to have a "progressive" political slant. Few classics, little in terms of "how to" or practical application books, and their stocks of any one particular book are not very high. It is a cute little store, with coffee upstairs, but I cant recommend it based on its content.

Ooh my gosh I can not over emphasize my find for this petite bookstore. The interior design, the atmosphere, the cool book review notes from staff... everything is ecstatic for am old fashioned book lover like me! Recommend everyone to take a look when leisure, and grab a drink upstairs at its café. Life is good.

Ive never been so excited to read books in a stores basement! This has to be the best assortment of new titles in the area, and Id recommend it to anyone. The kids section is very cute; I respect their push for offering diverse, educational reads from a young age.

Its exactly what bookstores used to be, and still should be. Charming and comfortable, while not compromising on selection - and the workers have posted reviews and recommendations on some selections. Loved it there, wish I lived closer, Id go there all the time!

Very cool spot for meeting, a good coffee and reading. If you dont eat gluten, sugar or dairy, there arent any food choices, but being surrounded by books always brings me joy. Seating was a bit limited when I was there. But I love the character of the place.

All new books at this store, unlike some of the used book stores in the area. The employee reviews on the books are a nice touch and the selection was plentiful. A nice atmosphere and espresso bar on the second floor make this a nice local business to visit.

A very nice curated selection! Strong in books for young adults, but also lots of great staff picks to give you insight into what might be worth a read. I particularly like browsing the books that are showcased along the staircase leading to the basement!

This is a super fun place to visit and one of my favorites in Ann Arbor. Really neat selection of books and staff picks are great for discovering new things to read. Plus they have cool events going on almost every day and a great coffee shop upstairs.

This place was a life saver. They had all the school books I needed, the staff were very kind and helped me right away, and it was very clean and roomy unlike some older book stores. I would shop here anytime I need a book

This is a really cute bookstore. They have very helpful cards giving you some background on many of the books, a pleasant layout, maybe a little cramped. Also, there is a coffee bar upstairs, that is a nice touch.

Its so nice to have a real bookstore, with recommendations posted by real readers, and helpful displays. Many signed copies of books, coffee and kids section upstairs. Convenient, walkable location downtown.

Good selection, very organized, coffee upstairs, a little tidy and organized for my taste, lol. Just new books, and new book prices. You dont get the never ending story feel, but you do get good books!
