Authentic Art is the best tattoo parlor and I highly recommend it. They are clean, professional, friendly, and understanding. I went there for my second tattoo but was a bit of a baby because of the experience of my first tattoo. While my first turned out beautiful (as did the 3 Ive gotten since here at Authentic Art), the personal service was terrible. They werent understanding of my fear of getting a tattoo for the first time and I was even told to shutup when I screamed a little. Totally different here! Jaison was very awesome about everything. He had me email him a picture of what I wanted so that when I arrived for my appointment, everything was printed out and the only thing we discussed was size and placement (I am very picky about size and placement and they were very understanding). Corey has done all three tattoos Ive gotten there, and he is the most amazing artist! He also make you feel unbelievably comfortable, playing whatever kind of pandora music you like and he even told me "if you have to scream, scream, and you have to cry, cry, and if you ever just need to take a break let me know." While getting a tattoo hurts regardless for me, because I dislike needles, he makes it a much easier process to go through. They all do! And they also explain aftercare very well! I highly recommend them as I plan to go back and get more. I almost dont trust anyone else but them!

I got my first tattoo here a few weeks ago and will definitely be going back if/when i want more. I was extremely nervous going in, but Cory was extremely relaxed and helped me a lot to feel comfortable and less nervous. He didnt seem rushed and was definitely okay with adjusting the placement of my stencil a few times so it looked just how i wanted it. Not only was the experience less painful than i expected (i got tattooed on the back/side of my ribs) but he kept me updated on where we were at and what he was doing through the whole process. My tattoo turned out just how I wanted, is healing well, and I havent had to get it retouched or anything, although Authentic offers that for free if needed. The studio is really clean and well lit and in a convenient location and the guy at the desk didnt push products on me, and talked me through the entire aftercare process to make sure i understood. Definitely a reasonable price for the amazing care and outcome of the tattoo! I love it!

I normally go to Name Brand around the corner but this particular piece was impulsive. You know the kind of pieces you think about forever and then the moment comes when you NEED and were meant to get them? It was a Friday evening and everyone had someone in their chair. The design was simple, Nitrogen from the periodic table, so I figured I would look at reviews of surounding shops. That is how I found this shop. The location is upstairs and tucked away, but that is not uncommon for A2. The staff was friendly and attentive from the moment I walked in. Jordan, my artist, was professional and accommodating. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to anyone. He repositioned my carbon a few times just to make sure it was right, even after I told him it was fine. My lines are clean, clear and it is healing nicely. All in all, a great little find. Lets just say, when I know Ill get an impulse to get that Hydogen box... I know exactly where I will go... and exactly who will be drilling on me.

HORRIBLE!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I was in there several days ago and have been so upset with the experience I had that I feel I should let others be aware of it. For a personal service business Im amazed at how rude the front desk person is and the lack of interest the artists that were there showed in any of the ideas I had. I guess Im not cool or trendy enough for this place. If that wasnt enough...the icing on the cake was when I realized that the same artist that had scarred up a tattoo on one of my friends and made inappropriate sexual advances while tattooing her is actively working there now. This guy is an absolute creep! Think twice before being fooled by this businesses other reviews as I was because Im sure a lot of them are fake and made up by their friends to get new business. No professional business would hire people like this. BEWARE.

I Got a Celtic design on my ribs from Cory a few weeks ago. He was very friendly and amazing at what he does. He took my picture that I brought in and did a great job working with me to give me something unique to me. The piece came out amazing. There were very clean lines and amazing detail in the tree, I couldnt have described what I was looking for better than what he came up with. The artwork on his walls show that he is amazing in many other styles as well. My tattoo is still in the healing process so I dont have a perfect picture of it yet, but as it is healing up it is still looking amazing. Without a doubt I will be returning for my future tattoos, and telling everyone to go here to get work done. Also, very reasonably priced compared to past experiences and research for this shop.

I just wanted to let people to know if your looking for a very good and clean shop you found it here,I was looking for a cover up and had been to several shops and nobody would touch me but Cory took a look and said he could do it but it would take a couple sittings and time it has taken about a year in a half but well worth it .He took a tribal piece that I couldnt stand and put a armored half sleeve on my right shoulder to my elbow and I love it, It was a very tough cover but he made it work all I need now is one last touch up will get some pics up soon and also had some lettering work done with Hilmar all I can say BADASS!!!.So if you need some work done or just need some good advice from a good dude give my man Cory a call highly recommend!!!

I recently graduated from the University of Michigan and wanted to get a tattoo to a symbolize my experience in Ann Arbor. I am familiar with the campus and have heard good things about Authentic Art from fellow students. It is a large shop that is clean, original, and active. I figured that since it was busy I would need to schedule an appointment. After I explained what I wanted, the manager Jordan informed me that there would be an artist available shortly if I was willing to be a little flexible and hang around for a minute. In about 20 mins I was able to speak to my Artist Jordan. Jordan was very friendly and knows his stuff. He was patient (Im super particular) and is very talented. I am extremely happy with my tattoo!!

After calling in to see if they accept walk-ins and being told to be there in 30 minutes for a simple tattoo, I found a babysitter, rushed downtown, paid for parking, and arrived at the place at the time that I should have arrived according to the woman on the phone. I walk in, mention our phone conversation, and am then informed that two women walked in before me so now I wont be able to be seen. Waste of a trip. Poor customer service. I wasnt offered an appointment for another day or an apology after trying to AVOID this type of situation by calling beforehand. The artwork may be beautiful, but I am appalled and hurt by how I was treated. Make sure to make an appointment and not trust in what you are told over the phone.
