This place is terrible, and I dont know how they are still in business. I dropped my computer off with them in mid-November, and I just got it back a week ago (mid-February). It took them 3 MONTHS to decide that they cant fix my computer. My computer had a cracked screen. When I dropped it off, the computer was entirely functional, beside the fact that the bottom half of the screen was black. I was using it up until the day I brought it to them. When I picked it up, the screen was still broken, but now the motherboard was burnt out too. When I dropped it off, the guy said it would be fixed by the end of the day, and hed give me a call. I called him 2 days later, and he said that the computer was no longer functional, and he had to order some more parts. He said it would be done in a week. I called back a little more than a week later, and he said basically the same thing: Its not done yet, but he has to order a part and itll be done in a week. This went on for 3 months. I called every 1-2 weeks, and every time they said "were ordering a new part, and itll be done in a week." Finally, my boyfriend (whos not so much of a pushover as I am...) said thats enough, and went to the store to pick up my computer. They had lots of excuses for why the computer wasnt done and why they kept telling me they had ordered parts (even though they had to date ordered NO parts for my computer and done nothing). In summary: I advise you all to stay away from this place. They say theyre not always this terrible blahblahblah, but as far as Im concerned its way too much talking and excuses and nothing gets done. Go to a professional instead.

I was skeptical about Somerville Computers especially since its a small shop with no website in Somerville. However, the owner, Mario is very courteous and quick to explain in a polite way the work that he is going to do on your computer. My case today was a minor one - Id stripped the screw of my new samsung laptop as I tried to upgrade the memory and couldnt get the damn thing out. Even though the laptop is in warranty, sending it back to Samsung was going to be more of a hassle and time I didnt want to go through (warranty does not cover shipping laptop to Samsung in Texas) So I decided to give Somerville computers a chance. Mario tried to remove it immediately but couldnt. He had a lot of customers waiting in line so he asked me to leave it behind and hed try later on. I was skeptical that he was going to make it seem like it took forever to fix. However, 2hrs later he called me back and let me know my laptop was ready. On getting there, he only charged me $5 and as a courtesy replaced my screw with a new one. Note: that he usually charges a $35 diagnostic fee. Its nice to know that there are still some honest small businesses out there in Somerville and thats why Im writing this review. Hope it helps others out there.

I have taken my computers here 3 times to have them serviced over the last year. I do my IT for our company, and when Im stumped I bring our computers in. In all occasions, Mario has given me great service at a very reasonable price. I have recommended him to the other businesses in our building when they have had a problem. I dont write many reviews, but having a local business that gives good service at a reasonable price is worth writing about.

Very happy with their service! and Mario is a extraordinary computer technician! Ive ordered some computer case fans for an incredibly cheap price. Ordered on Wednesday. Order was sent to me on Monday and received same day. Maybe that is slow, but it was quick enough for me since my payment was not cleared until Thu anyway. Communication was decent. I was satisfied with my purchase.

Ive used them for a number of years and theyre easy to talk to and generally pretty helpful with my Macs. I imagine Id get better service at the Apple Store, know their work would be fantastic, pay 3 times as much and talk with a stranger every time. I like this better.

Guy ripped me off, charged me $80.00 for a laptop power cord that i later found on Amazon for $9.95. I would have gladly paid $40.00 for his service and convenience but he price gouged.

I have had two terrific experiences at Somerville Computer--all problems resolved; very professional and friendly service; job completed in a very short time.
