Yeahhhh, not so much. There were so many little annoying things, mediocre food and drink, and an extra ingredient in my sandwich--I hope I didnt have to pay extra for the hair. I have no way of knowing, however, because the menu doesnt have prices. Booo booo boooo. Nice space and seating. But no free WiFi? Good grief. I came partially to see if that was true because I couldnt believe it after reading the reviews. I mean, not having WiFi at all, okay, I can see that, you dont want to encourage people sitting around all day and dont want to deal with the hassle of installing it and keeping it running. But going the trouble of having two different WiFi networks and making them paid? Please. The lime rickey was fine, took a couple of tries to make it without ice as ordered, and when it came it wasnt pretty with the ingredients separated. The sandwich had nice, fresh ingredients, but was blah, I make a better turkey sandwich. Its more like a lettuce sandwich with a little turkey. I saw cheese, but I didnt taste it, it was some bland white stuff. The bread was nice tasting, although not very sturdy. There are lots of other options, so Ill take a hard pass on this place. Maybe Id come back to try the coffee but thats about it.

I dropped my car off at Goodyear to have my tires replaced and I decided to grab a bite, I noticed this little jem an decided to walk in. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked if I needed any help, I let the gentleman in front of the cash register know it was my first time and I wasnt sure what to get. He was polite enough to tell me the most popular items and what they have to offer. I decided on the turkey Alvarado sandwich which was spectacular. The food was very fresh and I only waited a few minutes to receive it. One thing I noticed that I didnt like was that as my sandwich was being made when it was finished the lady used a knife to cut it and then grabbed what looked like a rag to wipe the knife off and then tossed the rag to the side.

This place has potential... I hate that! I want it to be awesome now! The owners of Bloc 11 also own Diesel cafe (Davis) and Forge baking co (Somerville Ave). I have to say that I love the other two places so much better than this one. The food at Bloc 11 is very questionable. They sandwiches are very mediocre, and Ill have to wait a very long time before trying again. Other than the questionable food, I have to say that the coffee is excellent, atmosphere is great (beautiful renovated old bank), and the outdoor space is the best patio in Union Sq (dare I say all of Somerville?), I love spending time there. Please, spice up the food somehow!

Their Ham & Cheese Croissants are the best, especially when they are heated. Bloc 11 has a easy, relaxed atmosphere. I dont feel bombarded with noise or loud music, which makes it easier to hear the person or people to whom one is talking. Also, there is room to move around and you dont feel like you are sitting on top of someone. There is extra room in the back as well as the Vault for additional seating. It is a great place to go to meet a friend, have an event or a company meeting, or just chill by oneself with a Soy Chai Latte.

All summer I looked forward to coming here since it looks so cool and hip from the outside but it turns out they dont have free wireless internet! As hard as one tries to support the local coffee shops little things like these are why Starbucks is such a popular choice. For what is worth, the place has a variety of hot and cold drinks as well as decent food (judging by the menu I didnt eat anything). In short, sounds like a good place to come with someone you can chat or bring a book as you wont be able to do anything on a computer...

Please note, this is hipster hang-out central. I got a mint hot chocolate... there was a leaf design in the cream which was creepy and cool. The beverage was a little too minty for my liking but overall the experience was great. Floors were a little dusty. The environment is cool and it was large on the inside. The cashier was all raz-mataz. He flipped my debt card around like a magician with a playing card. Would definitely go back to see the raz-mataz cashier with the blue dodgers cap.

Enjoyed the coffee and the tea over the summer, but regularly noticed flies landing on the baked goods set out in the front case. The service can be a bit smart mouthed and short if you ask questions. I will say the inside is nicely laid out And there are some games in the back area. In general though, I avoid it as a cafe spot bc on top of the flies, they charge outrageously for an hour of wireless internet....isnt free wifi a given in any decent coffee shop!?

I cant believe they charge for wifi. Their free 45 min didnt even work past 15 for me, while 2 cups of coffee was $6 and funny thing is I would have spent 20+$ more on lunch for me and my husband to get a couple hours of work done. They have a huge dining room that could accommodate a few computers. Also their coffee is burnt. Their staff does not care about customer experience or feedback at all. Never coming back. Nearby many many other choices.

This place really makes a Saturday or Sunday morning in my neighborhood feel like it should. The decor is interesting being a refitted bank, complete with vault you can drink your coffee in if you hate the sun. Outside they have a nice yard to chill in with your amazing, fresh brewed coffee and your favorite book or magazine. Sandwiches are really tasty albeit messy. Tip: Get the breakfast egg & cheese sandwich on a croissant rather than a bagel.

The food is all pretty good. Deliveries are fresh every day and the selection is always slightly varied. Anytime Im heading on a weekend roadtrip with my friends, I always stop there for a quick coffee, tea, and a road snack. They have ample seating and a nice open-format eating area... you can see the entire kitchen, which just always makes you a little more confident in the quality and delivery of the food.

The vibe was great but food questionable. I have to say the sandwiches were delicious when they were fresh, but as I kept eating, the bread got really hard and crunchy, becoming quite difficult to eat. The eggs I got on the side were also rubbery and almost like airplane food. I really like the environment so I really wanted to like the food hut maybe Ill stick to only the coffee and tea in the future.

Great coffee, good baked goods, excellent sandwiches. Atmosphere is lovely and the outdoor seating in warmer weather is a huge plus. I just love this coffee shop. Its wonderfully neighborhoody with lots of lovely places to sit. Plus, the staff is really friendly and efficient. Wonderful local place that adds so much to Union Square. FYI: Get the Pallet Sandwich. Also the Lattes are fantastic!

I"m addicted to their caramel lattes (caramel made from scratch, milk from a local dairy farm & the best espresso ever!). I am also a little more than obsessed (Ive tried to make it at home) with the house dressing that they toss side greens in -- its perfect. Food is yummy & atmosphere & warm/welcoming & cool. It used to be an old bank & they repurposed many of the architectural features.
