I went to Banville Optical to order frames and lenses. I already had my prescription. They were overbearing with their "help" and I got the feeling that they were concerned that I would steal a pair of their designer frames. The associate kept bringing me frame after frame, saying "here try these" even after I expressed to her that I just wanted to look around. Then when I would try them on, she would say, "oh yeah, those look nice"---every time, which wasnt solicited or helpful. So, I spent several hours there because the associate slowed down the process and because they were very busy, AND because after I spoke up and said that I would need to be leaving they acted like they didnt know I was sitting there because I wanted to place my order! THEN- after I placed my order with them I called back a few days later and asked them for my "Pupil Distance". They asked why I wanted to know. I told them that I was looking at ordering a pair of fashion glasses online. They denied the measurement and told me it would be a $40.00 fee if I wanted the measurement. I preceded to call the doctor that gave me the eye exam to ask for my Pupil Distance measurement, and she said I could come in any time and she would measure it free of charge. I was just very frustrated and unsatisfied with Banville Opticals service.

I have been going here since I was 11 years old, the staff can be helpful, only if youre buying from them, on many separate occasions when me and many people I know have asked for a copy of our prescription were told "No we dont have to give you that" or "Were not required to give out that information..." and were given attitude when we didnt want to buy our glasses from their business. The places we were going to buy them from only asked for the prescription. I dont understand any eye doctor/business refusing to give a patient their own eye prescription...its ludicrous and they are extremely rude. Will no longer be going to them in the future... and I dont recommend them.

The other two reviews are both accurate. However, I went with a new prescription and asked them to put new lenses in my old frames (which I had bought at Banville). While putting the new lenses in my frame, they broke my frame. While I waited - my old lenses were put in another frame and they called other optical stores to find a similar frame to replace the broken ones. A few weeks later I was shown three other frames and my new lenses were put in the frames of my choice. Two new frames - no change, and yes, folks tripping over themselves to help me - Kudos to Banville! Sonnie

I had a very great experience at Banville Optical! I ended up spending two hours there taking selfies and trying on frame after frame and they very patiently not only endured me, but even assisted and encouraged me in finding more frames that I might like. Even after two hours. at which point they should have been kicking me out, they didnt seem the slightest bit impatient or annoyed. They even pulled out some legit antique frames that got me so excited! I definitely recommend going there!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Completely screwed up my prescription they magnified the wrong eye on the glasses,this is after i paid 270.00 dollars of my own money 533.33 with insurance..DO NOT go to this place ...I will be notifying the Massachusetts Optometrist Board...

My experience at Banville was very positive. This was my first set of glasses and they set me at ease from reception to the final fitting. I asked for my prescription and they willing gave it to me. I would highly recommend them to my friends and family.

Ive been going to Banville for more than 10 years. Great down to earth place. Helpful particularly with repairs and adjustments. It may be cheaper to buy glasses on line but who is going to help you down the road with adjustments, repairs, etc???

Very friendly and patient as I tried on every frame in the store... never felt like I was being a pain even though I most definitely was! Once I chose the frame they were on my face in less than 2 weeks. Thanks Banville!
