I have been living in Central Sq., Cambridge for ten years... I have always found what I needed here and always had smiling cheerful service! The staff comes up to you always and asks you if you need help finding something... Once they didnt have something in stock (a table) and they had it shipped promptly from another store... when it arrived they called us to let us know that we could pick it up. A store clerk helped with getting it into our SUV. Economy True Value has always been our favorite hardware store.

While the store has an amazing assortment of products for such a small space their customer service is literally the WORST on Mass Ave. The other day I was simply BROWSING for a Christmas tree and because I was not satisfied with any of their products, hence leading the store without purchasing something the cashier literally glared at me, shook his head, and rolled his eyes as I left. Its abosuletly so unprofessional to expect every customer to purchase something when entering the store.

This is a good, clean location in a pretty easy to access spot. This spot is a little small, and tends both to be more cramped than other locations and sometimes more dominated by home goods (not surprising given that Cambridge has a lot of rental housing, but not the top thing I look for at a hardware store). However, as usual the service is good, and I can usually find what I need so long as its not particularly unusual.

Terrible customer service very rude and not helpful. Me and my mother needed a certain screwdriver when we asked the guy for help he pointed when I asked him if he could show us where they were he rolled his eyes, sighed and walked down aisle with an attitude and still pointed . He totally refused to help us find the right screwdriver !!! U need to train your male employees to respect woman and learn customer service

Moved in this past September and come here all the time for basic needs. Small hardware/tool selection but everything I need for my basic house projects. I mainly go for kitchen and bathroom and cleaning stuff and staff always helps me out if I have a question. Dont know why the guy below said theyre expensive - most of their stuff is the same price if not cheaper than the big stores nearby.

Absolutely horrible.the red headed manager not only told me they didnt have what I was looking for....he was very very rude about it. I found my part, (yes the one he told me they didnt have) and as I was leaving he had some rude comments to add. I have never witnessed a manager act so unprofessional and knowledge lacking. I will never shop here again. EVER

Love this place - Not only is it a pretty good hardware store, but they have a lot of great home furnishings in a very convenient location. Ive bought some really high quality furniture here (from their unfinished line) as well as the little things like picnic coolers, etc.

Great location in central carrying most tools, hardware, and home goods. They can copy keys and they have a great selection of organizational products. Staff knows where everything is and is very helpful. It is a little bit more expensive than your bigger chain.

As someone living nearby, its well located and has a pretty good selection, considering the size of the store. Prices are a little higher than Id expect, but not unreasonably so. Good for a quick stop after work if you need something.

Absolutely horrible service. Was openly mocked of the phone when I couldnt pick something up the day that it arrived in store. Was then also left to wait for an extended period in store when I arrived to pick it up. Awfull.

I was very surprised that this store got bad reviews. I have been going there for 3+ years now and am extremely glad that they exist. The people are really nice and you can find there a lot of useful stuff for the house.

The staff is always very knowledgeable and they always have everything that I want. Some of the furniture breaks down easy and the craftsmanship is sometimes somewhat poor and frustrating... but it is ECONOMY hardware.

Definitely pricey, but the selection is pretty good for a neighborhood hardware store. They are closed for renovations right now, and Im missing them - so I guess thats a good sign.

A lot of stuff in one small space! Staff always greets me and asks if I have any questions. Sometimes theres a cute dog in there to pet. What more could you ask for?

Ok if you need household items, not if you require actual hardware (they didnt have regular electrical wire).

If you dont have a car to get out to Ikea, Home Depot, Target, etc. then you dont have much choice.

Google has the weekday closing time wrong, they close at 7 PM. Good store for basic household needs.
