African Americans not welcome. They should get negative stars for their racist and discriminatory beliefs and actions. This is probably a great place to buy wine unless you are African American, this store treats African Americans like thieves and criminals. I had never been treated so poorly until this new ownership has come in. The people there dont even hide their racism as they are quite blatant in the way they follow and harass people of color once they enter the store. Two months ago I entered their store to buy some alcohol for friends that were coming into town for my wedding. the woman working their seemed unwilling or unable to answer my questions and kept brushing me off. I started to walk to the back of the store to browse and I turned to see her pointing me out to two men that had just come out of some back room. The men proceeded to follow me the rest of the time I was in the store, never more than ten feet away. On Sunday, September the 27th, 2015 my wife and I entered the store to purchase a bottle of wine to have with dinner and things went bad immediately. It ended with two people watching me from down two different aisles as I tried to shop. When I had had enough I confronted one of the men and asked him what his problem was with me and his response in extremely broken English was "I work here, I can follow you if I want" Fortunately my wife was there with me because she absolutely saved him from great bodily harm, high medical bills and the inability to eat solid food. I am surprised that the town of Brookline would allow a store to exist in its borders that treats a portion of the population so badly. All of my life I have dealt with racism, I didnt think that I would have to deal with it from people from a foreign country in the place that I live and then to have people in the community support them. The owners of this store are terrible people and it is my duty to let everyone know so that others arent harassed, insulted and hurt by them. Dont give them your money if they wont give you respect.

The store has a huge selection....thats the high point of the review. Most beer is very old, and a good amount of it has already expired. ALWAYS check dates if you are buying beer here. Everything from craft IPAs to Budweiser tends to be very old. The store is always a mess, and it seems they just keep buying more and more stock without selling or pitching the old stuff. There is also a case of nice import beer that sits in direct sunlight and is full of UV damaged beers. The owners do not know how to properly manage a beer store. It is also worth mentioning that there is always a worker in the beer section watching customers and getting in the way rather than providing assistance. The other store in Coolidge sells old beer too, so my best suggestion is to buy your beer elsewhere until one of the 2 stores in the neighborhood gets their act together.

This place has really gone downhill in the past 2 years. Im not the only one judging by these comments who watched this place fall out of favor as well. Large variety of beer, but most of it is expired. I remember seeing a Sam gingerbread in the middle of September from the previous year. If you are not buying beer this place is ok, but I dont trust the skunky beer they sell anymore which is overpriced too. The service is not there either. It used to be friendly but now they dont know what they are selling and price it higher than most places. You cant ask them about flavors anymore since they dont know. They point to the one that is more expensive every time.

Generally overpriced and Place is a mess but if you catch them on the right day they have some decently priced craft beer. Youd think they could post 12-pack prices near the beer but apparently they prefer everyone who comes in to ask "how much is this?" Slightly less sleezy than some other liquor stores in the area.

Somewhat expensive, but I guess thats the area for you. They had in stock cold Sapporo and Kirin beer when I went there, which is what I wanted to find. These stars are for the Japanese labels. It doesnt look like much but if you are in brookline its not a bad option. They also sell tobacco products.

In short the smell, price and courtesy. There is a persistent smell of wet dog, selection of wines is not so great and a bit overpriced (50-100% more expensive than Trader Joes just few blocks down Beacon St). There is a worker/assistant who does not assist at all but keep an eye on you!

Decent beer, wine, and liquor selection. Not a huge selection, but they have nearly everything covered. Fast service. Mostly importantly, only a few feet from my apartment!

This place is great. They put in a custom order just for me when they didnt have something in stock. That type of customer service....

Wanted to add this so google maps flags it as a liquor store; they sell beer and wine as well as spirits (hard stuff). Foob
