As an Oak Square resident, the combination of convenience and selection available in bfresh is unrivaled by other nearby markets. It occupies the space previously filled by the Beacon Hill Athletic Club but the interior is a swift departure from its roots. The space is clean, organized and well lit. The layout mimics what you would expect in a large grocery store albeit, on a smaller scale. Produce, baked goods and prepared meals greeting you as you walk in, freezer goods in the rear and non-perishables and home goods line aisles near the checkout. One criterion which I weight heavily in my evaluation of grocery store quality is the freshness of produce. bfresh is true to their name on this metric as all of the produce I have purchased has been great. Ive never had to spend much time to sort through a bin of fruits and vegetables in order to find items that arent underripe, overripe, bruised or actively spoiling. For its size, there is a comparatively large selection of organic/vegan options and there is an entire wall of dispenser for bulk goods like nuts, seeds, dried fruit, candy and coffee. Its great for those health/environmentally conscious individuals on the go. The pricing seems on par with local grocery stores. Ive found that meat, seafood and produce is either the same or cheaper than some local stores. Bread, nuts and cheese can be found elsewhere for lower prices. Ive rated it 4 stars instead of 5 as it isnt a substitute for grocery stores on the level of Star Market, Stop & Shop (corporate owner of bfresh), Whole Foods or Wegmans but for the niche it serves, it is a fantastic option.

My first trip to a bfresh was a few weeks ago. The concept of this supermarket in a compact space was very well laid out. Great selection and incredibly helpful and nice employees. A few more gluten free options in the prepared food section would be nice- like sushi with tamari soy sauce instead of the regular kind containing wheat. Looking forward to my next time here!

A little cheaper than whole foods, but with some specialty foods and prepared lunch buffet.. And a guy who can make you fresh sushi rolls! Seems like a good place for a quick lunch! Way quieter than whole foods too so you dont have to compete with other customers for aisle space

Run out of something? Need it in a hurry. This conveniently located mini Stop and Shop has everything that its parent store has but in limited quantities. Produce not as fresh as expected but its better than shopping at a corner store.

Pretty solid selection of products. Produce has been fresh every time I go, and the deli meats and cheeses are also phenomenal. Above all, the staff has been superb on every encounter. Will be returning every time I visit Boston!

It is really nice to have a grocery store in Brighton Center. For its size, it has a good selection of groceries. The coupons they regularly mail out help save on the cost of shopping.
