Like others, I had a horrible experience. I bought a pair of rain boots at the outlet store- one boot was considerably more discolored and it was the last pair they had in my size. The lady assured me that with the cleaner and buffer it would look good as new. Well it didnt. I tried several times with the recommended cleaner I bought from them as well as trying other Google recommendations. Nothing worked, so I took them back. And like others, they gave only a store credit. Funny thing, the owner was in the shop the night I bought the shoes- we talked, seemed nice and mentioned he had other stores. But when I returned the boots, it was a different story. Only store credit is given. I said no, these were defective boots- I want my money back. The owner says our machines dont have a credit function on it. And when I kept insisting he says "I just work here, I dont set the policy." Such a liar! So now I have a credit. Ive been in to a couple stores now to use my credit. Employees are so flippin rude! I came in close to closing one night and wanted to try a shoe on. He asks "Well, are you going to buy it?" I couldnt believe it. I said "well I want to try it on to make sure I like it first." So he reluctantly brought me my size. And another pair I wanted to try on he said I had to go downstairs. The next day I was walking by and walked downstairs there were no womens shoes to be seen down there. Another liar! Then, I was looking at another pair of shoes but they didnt have my size. I asked if they could call another store he says "I dont think our other store carries those". Im guessing they dont get commission if I get it from another store so he didnt even try. I dont even want to buy anything from there- but I have to use my credit! This place is ridiculous. Stay far away!! Unless you like lazy, lying sales people.

If there is zero star I can choose, I would definitely choose zero. This store is not even worth one star. I experienced the worst customer service in Boston! I: I need to return the shoes I bought this morning. And I gave him the box of shoes. Clerk: We only do exchange or store credit. Which one you want? I: (I was surprised.) But, I dont like either. Clerk: Then take the shoes back, those are your shoes, not mine. ( The clerk tried to open my bag "on my hand" to put shoes in!!! ) I: (My wallet and other things are in my bag too. How can I let a stranger to grab the bag on my hand. I step back automatically.) What are you doing!? Clerk: ( He wasnt able to stock the shoe in my back. Then he trow my shoes to the chair.) These are your shoes, not my, take it back! I have customer to serve now. I: (I was too shock to say anything for 2 seconds.) You lie! You were standing here not serve anyone. And you are so rude! Clerk: Hush! You are annoyed to other customers. Here are your shoes. I hand it to you nicely this time. I : I dont want it. I did not know there is no return policy. Clerk: Hahaha. You know now. I am asking you the last time: do you want store credit or not. I: I dont want to shop at the crappy store ever again. Why I want store credit? Clerk: There is another The Tannery Store 3 blocks away. You can use it there. I: ( I couldnt stand this outlet store anymore. I am so tired to talked to the clerk who even tried to open my bag. I just want to leave. ) I will take store credit.

i live in southern new hampshire and i was interested in buying a pair of boots that were sold there because i could not find them out here. So i called them up and the man on the phone was very un-knowledgeable and did not want to help me. I told him the style and and said do you have the black and the brown colors? in a rush, he said yes yes we have both colors. i tried to ask what sizes, but i could tell he did not want to be on the phone and he just hung up before i could ask. so i drove 1 hour to Back Bay from NH, paid for parking, and walked in the cold to get there. upon arrival, i saw the boot i was looking for, but asked to see the brown pair, which was what i really wanted. he then stated he didnt think they had any brown which was opposite of what he said on the phone. i had to bug him to go in the back and look and after waiting a while he finally came back and said he only had one pair, a size 8, and that wouldnt fit me. uhhh...you think you could have told me that on the phone before i drove all the way there from freakin new hampshire!!! what a waste of a trip - ILL NEVER patronize this business again and i urge anyone reading this to avoid at all costs. my rating: ZERO stars out of 5 (because google wont let me give less than 1 star)

I agree with all the sentiments about the horrific service in this store, and will NEVER purchase from them again. Heres my story: The company policy states that items can be exchanged or store credit given within 2 weeks of purchase. I went to a different location from the one at which I purchased items (went to Boston; purchase in Cambridge). Before I could explain that I wished to exchange the item for another one in the store, the manager interrupted me. He was EXTREMELY rude in his demeanor, tone, and language. He interrupted me, insulted me, went off on unrelated tangents, told me that he did not care that I was a customer who had spent money in his store, told me to tell my friends not to come to his store. This was by far the worst treatment I have ever received from a vendor. He essentially drove me out of the store, before Id even said more than a few sentences to him. I went in there in good spirits, to inquire about an exchange. He behaved unnecessarily inhospitably. There were no other customers in the store, and there were 3 staff and one delivery person (UPS), all of whom heard his rant at me. All in all, his behavior was outrageous, and completely out of context for my approach and inquiry.

This is my first review on Google. I feel compelled to inform whoever is reading these reviews. ( had I read them I would not have stepped in the store. ) Went to their shoe store closer to Boston commons. Managed to offend the same guy who says he is from Lebanon( read previous reviews), still not sure how I offended him? He was extremely rude, loud, offensive. Has no concept about respect for humanity, forget customer service. He asked me multiple times about my nationality, origins and ancestry. He went yelling on about his religion and his ancestry, how successful he is in his business and how my sale would not make any difference to him. At this point I stepped out of the store, leaving the yelling man behind. I have lived in Boston for more than 8 years and hands down this would be my worst experience in a shop. I was with my wife and young son and my wife had to get him out of the store in a rush. All of us came out of the store disturbed, and did spend a couple of hours feeling down about what had just happened. I dont recommend anyone who is having a fun time in Boston to got to this store, and if you do go, definitely dont go with your family.
