If youre looking for art supplies, Blick probably has it, and has lots of it. When you walk in the store youre instantly overwhelmed by the amount of product they have, which is great unless youre a new student, or buying a gift, or have never been there before. Youll find lots of Blick name brand products like canvas and frames, but theyre often unclear if theyre archival, or what company originally makes them. However, they DO have almost anything you could possibly think of, and more. This store is awesome, but location seriously kills the experience. When you look for the store its pretty easy to find, but parking is TERRIBLE. Theyre located on Fenway which is easy to find but good luck getting there without a lot of traffic (FORGET IT if theres a Red Sox game), and finding a place to park isnt easy or free. It cost me $15 for parking, and an extra $25 to purchase their membership, on top of the art supplies I bought. If youre a student looking to get art supplies for school, be careful how much you purchase because they dont have shopping carts and youll have to lug it all back to your car, which is probably parked a good distance away. I have no idea how people get drafting tables out of the store. It didnt seem like there was a whole lot of help except for cashiers when I visited. Overall, Blick has great prices (with membership) and a huge selection, but parking and traffic make me second guess my future purchases.

Ive spent a lot of time at Blick over the years buying art supplies. The positive side is that they have a lot of merchandise. The negative side is that the line to check out is often ridiculously long and the staff, though generally sufficient, is not particularly helpful nor knowledgable about the inventory. I find Utrecht to generally be a better shopping experience however their inventory is much more limited. So its a trade-off really. Go early in the morning if you can on a weekday. Almost never a line. If you have a choice dont go in the afternoon or weekends for the first couple weeks after the local art and design schools start the new semesters. The lines are ridiculously long with all the students.

If you have more than one discounts, the staff there will only give you one discount. They will act like they have gave you all the discounts, or tell you. They think customers wont find out what they do, unfortunately we do. We just didnt care much about 2,3 dollars. But its been annoy they do that every time I shop there when I have multi discounts, which they think they r smart but also shows how stupid they are "fooling" customers as they think.

kind of like too expensive it is supposed to be a place for struggling artists or artists are supposed to be struggling because hey they were too lazy to study programming now they will be programmed. i am not interested in this high end art supplies. they have many sizes of canvasses and paint brushes. i should be commissioned to do artwork because now that engineering doesnt pay i should paint murals and think big. i have a cartoon show coming

Thanks probably my favorite art store in Boston. Its a huge store, which is rare to find in the city, but its still very easy to get to either by driving or by the T (green line). They have a wide selection of all kinds of art supplies, as well as journals, writing utensils, fun office supplies and little trinkets.

Blick is my first stop for art supplies. Their staff is always helpful when I need help finding anything. They have a good variety of everything Ive ever needed to get for various projects ranging from book making to painting and drawing to creating a claymation. And they frequently have sales throughout the store.

A whole other world. What Michaels would be like if it werent a huge chain. The have really basic art supplies and all kinds of specialized Blick Art Materials stuff like things that go with model trains and little dowels and pieces of wood to make stuff out of. I bought a simple word burning tool.

I could spend hours browsing in this store. Their selection is ample. I stopped in for a few project essentials and left with those and a few treasures as well. I am also a fan of the sales that involve discounts for bulk purchases.

Super friendly staff. We went in after hours (doors were still open but registers closed) and face a friendly young man that briefly took us through all promotions. I am definitely visit this place for some art supplies.
