Model Hardware is as dedicated to getting YOUR project done. They will talk to you about your project and make sure that it gets done on budget and right. The owners are always around to ensure that the store is running efficiently and that there is always somebody who is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the products in the store and techniques for jobs etc. If you are in a rush, they will hurry you through. If you are confused, they will sit down and explain things to you. If you are not 100% confident in everything you are doing, these guys will give you the tools, parts and knowledge to get the job done right. Its also a great deal price wise, that really their best part! (LOL)

Amazing experience. I had to give up my "green" massachusetts plate, and when trying to attach the new front license plate discovered my car does not have the standard holes! I tried Home Depot first - 2 trips and I still didnt have the right hardware. Went here, the man who helped me walked out with me to my car, inspected the holes, went back, grabbed a couple of types of fasteners that he thought would be the right size, came back and attached my plate! So very helpful!

EDIT: Although I explained I needed a toilet auger, the employee let me buy a drain auger, that is not fit for the toilet: it has no rubber protection to avoid scratches on the porcelain. I discovered that only when I came back home and the augers are not exchangable. Therefore the help provided was not really professional. ORIGINAL: The employee brought me the the article I needed and stayed the whole time to answer all my questions, the service was excellent.

Over-and-above helpful staff. Went to exchange a power strip that didnt work, but I didnt have either the receipt or the packaging. Stephen helped me out by testing the power strip and verifying it didnt work, suggesting a better alternative since they were out of it, and just making the exchange without making me pay for the new product. Really helpful, really knowledgeable.

A *real* hardware store in the city! Much better stock (and knowledge to share) than Pil, Economy, and other Ace and True Value stores in Boston. This store is deceptively large -- roughly 4× the size of its competitors. Walk in, and youll wonder why youve been schlepping out to Home Cheapo, when theres a pretty good chance Model has what you need.

Super helpful staff (who know about their products and have used them) and reasonable prices. Ive been to every hardware store in the Brookline and Allston/Brighton area and this is by far my favorite when I need input on a project, even obscure ones. Thanks, guys!

Great old school style Model Hardware and paint store. That get big bonus points for carrying the line of Krypton Fusion spray paints which is a great product, but for some reason hard to find.
