Very upset with my experience, I was tattooed by an older artist, Doc is his name I believe. Read the rave reviews and decided to get my third tattoo here, but left extremely unsatisfied for several reasons: 1. My tattoo is of the DC flag, a very simple design (three stars and two stripes). The stripes of the flag are totally crooked. The stars are disproportionate and misshapen, although the artist used a stencil. The artist in fact did not even finish the coloration and design of the flag on the part of my arm that it is harder for me to see. My friend got a similar tattoo, and this was similarly terrible. Uneven lines, etc. I believed this was because it was his first tattoo and thought he might have just been moving around a lot, but I was wrong. Both of our tattoos undoubtedly need to have corrections made to them, but in no way am I even considering returning to Capitol Tattoo, as I cannot express how infuriated I am by my experience there. 2. I paid $240 for this tattoo. In total the flag may be four inches long and three inches high. I decided to spring for it because I believe you get what you pay for, but in no way did I get what I paid for. I dont understand how I this happened. The artist (Doc) said that he has been tattooing for 40 years, and indeed had news articles posted in his shop about him tattooing when he was much younger. I dont understand how you can totally botch such a simple design, or why the reviews for this place are so positive. Two huge thumbs down.

I was at Capital Tattoo on Monday with my friend who wanted to get a tattoo to cover up her scar. We had the pleasure of speaking with Nick who worked diligently to create the perfect design for my "very picky" friend. After placing the stencil, my friend absolutely loved the tattoo and got it done on the spot. I was so impressed with Nicks professionalism, passion and his work, that I returned yesterday to get my own tattoo. I had a combination of design ideas for my tattoo, and Nick put them all together seamlessly. My tattoo looks absolutely amazing. The best part besides the amazing work is that I hardly felt any pain at all. That is major for me because I have an extremely low tolerance for pain. My much smaller and less detailed tattoos I got somewhere else hurt more than this piece by Nick. The only bad part is that tattoos are completely addicting and I already have my next idea in hand, and I will be returning to Nick at Capital Tattoo to get it done. Thank you so much Nick!!

I am Extremely Pleased with my experience. Im new the area and had no idea where to go for my VHA piercing so I researched piercing parlors online and found Capitol Tattoo. I was super nervous and apprehensive about having this particular piercing done,so I called first. Just my luck I spoke with Tommy(my piercer) whom walked me through the entire process of what I could expect by the time I had asked all my questions, he asked for my name and offered to schedule me an appt. This made me feel better about choosing CT Inc. for my next piercing. I went the next day and Tommy basically held my hand the entire process esp. when I almost kicked him in the genitals!!! He even informed me about one of my current piercings that needed to be closed and reopened. I am EXTREMELY PLEASED and will refer anyone that I know whos looking for a clean, knowledgeable,and professional facility for any of their piercings. I will also be going back for a tattoo shortly. #ilovetommy #mypiercer

I had the best experience at Capital Tattoo getting my bottom lip peirced. It was my first body mod experience and I was so nervous. Walking in, the environment was so clean and peaceful. I was greeted by the piercer, Tom, and he immediately settled my nerves by cracking jokes. When he got down to business, he explained everything and even told me which piece of jewelery would make the piercing easiest to heal. The piercing process was so quick and barely painful that I quickly realized Id hyped myself up for nothing. Tom even took the time to take into account my beauty mark in the placing of my piercing because, and I quote "we want it to look cute dont we?". Overall, I would recommend anyone to Capital tattoo for a piercing from Tom. I plan to go back for another piercing in a couple of months.

Man, let me tell you something. Capitol Tattoos are the absolute BEST!! The people who work there are so nice, friendly & really funny. The artist have crazy skills & I love my new tattoo. My man Mark aka Meatwad took care of me. Dude is really really good. The whole time when he was doing my tatt we were just hanging around, laughing, cracking jokes just kicking it, I felt like I was at home. Mark & Thomas are some funny characters man LOL. Im so glad I decided to go to them because they made my 2nd experience there fun & something I wont forget. They also have reasonable prices so if anyone wants a tattoo I would recommend that you go to Capitol Tattoo and ask for Meatwad. Im DEFINITELY going back for my next tatt.

Tommy is absolutely AMAZING! If you want someone who knows what they are doing you MUST see him, he is all about doing his work the right way. He let me ask as many questions as I needed to, helped me figure out what it is that I wanted and he was over all a great. Very clean and you can honestly tell that he is there to be a professional, he cleaned up right in front of me, sanitized and everything, showed me what he was going to be doing so there were never any surprises, and the best part was that I didnt feel any pain, it was quick and smooth and nothing went wrong...which by the way has happened to me before (not at capital tattoo) so this was a plus for me. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND Tommy!

Went and got a tattoo this morning from a buddy of mine, Mark Wright. This is the only tattoo shop Ive ever trusted and gone to for almost 6 years, and I had some custom additions made to my mother/music themed sleeve that I am in the process of completing. Everything was perfect, the attention to detail, shading and management of the time involved (I had a lot done and it looks as if I was sitting for about 3-4 hours.. it took about two and a half) and the customer service these guys exhibit is spectacular, as it has always been. Definitely frequent this place if you are an existing tattoo-haver, or even if youre a first timer.

Best prices in town, no doubt! My roommate and I searched for about 30 mins looking for a place that wouldnt butt rape us on a price and came up with Capital Tattoo in Silver Spring. The staff, Tom and Meatwad, were very welcoming and did their best to accomodate us. Tom, who did our piercings, was extremely knowlegeble and schooled us big time on proper care. Ive been pierced 19 times and still managed to learn something new. These guys are awesome at what they do no doubt and I will be back! -Very pleased customer

Ive been coming to this shop for about four years now and every time i come in the shop is clean, and the staff jokes around and have fun, but never a redneck for any type of body modification i highly recommend stopping in for at least a chat and a quote let them talk to you and figure out exactly what you trying to get done the more you talk the better the artist understands what you want for the rest of your life. Just remember a cheap tattoo isnt good and a good tattoo isnt cheap. sparky
