This company is beyond the worst of the worst. I usually do not write reviews, but I had to with this company. I brought my computer a few weeks ago to this place but before doing so..I called them and asked if they would work on it and if they can figure it out. The guy on the phone said "of course we never let anything walk out without fixing it". I was thinking, wow this is great then.. In the afternoon I went to drop of the computer with the intentions of them abviously fixing it.. I came and and the guy at the desk asked for $50.00 and some questions. I gave the $50.00 and signed the stupid paper work. I asked if the problem would be fixed and diagnosed and his response, "we have a A+++ certified technician in the office, he will def be able to fix this issue as it is minor im sure". Great? right? No.... The same day someone called me they couldnt login...I explained how to use windows 7. The next morning I did not hear from them, so I called. They stated they have not looked at it yet. The same afternoon I called again the guy said he turned it on and will look at it. No news that night.. Two days later now I called in morning guy said he is working on it with no news. Nothing on that day to inform I guess. Three days after I brought it still not one time has anyone called me. I decided to call again in the morning and the guy said there is no technician available today so maybe he will look at it Thursday or Friday. Now I dropped this thing of on Monday morning.... Friday comes around I called they said they are not sure whats wrong and cant fix it. The issue was simple I thought - DRIVER ISSUES installed or not installed to get the audio working on the newly built pc....simple right? I guess not for this company who has a A+++++ technician who couldnt even diagnose the issue or explain what was wrong with it! I went to pick up the computer that Friday afternoon, the person at the desk was anything but knowledgable. He didnt know anything about computers nor about customer service. While there, there was another customer who was not happy about a issue he had with his cell phone. Something with a phone jack or the phone not charging..They also couldnt help him and tried to get him to buy a home charger for 18.99! LMAO! these chargers sell for pennies online and work just the same. The guy laughed at this company while walking out and also said they are WACK! They charged me $50.00 for nothing! They didnt even look at it I am sure. Low and behold - got the machine back home fixed the issue within 10 minutes. Drivers correctly not installed with windows 7. Re-installed the audio drivers to the current ones for windows 7 and everything worked after reboot. This company is complete garbage! BEWARE DO NOT GO HERE. I am a real customer not a fictitious customer as they are stating below others are.

Four months ago I had my laptop repaired because there was a short where I plug in the power cord. This is a fairly common problem and once every year or so the problem re-appears. (Previously, I had this repair done by another company, a company I will now use again.) So, when the same problem appeared to come up six months earlier than usual, I was less than happy. I say "appeared," because while the power supply jack didnt appear shorted, I kept getting a message saying that the internal battery wasnt charging. In any event, I went back to Gadget Guru and the gentleman behind the counter did his triage, told me I was one month out of the companys warranty and it appeared that the same repair, the one they did just four months earlier would have to be done again. I paid the $50 deposit so that they could look at my computer, but I specifically told them that if the $50 didnt cover it, I didnt want them working on my computer. Two weeks later, after not hearing from them I called. I was told the computer was repaired and the bill would be $100. I explained the situation to the person who picked up the phone and he gave me back my attitude and then some. He asked me, point blank, did I want them to un-do the repair. I told him I would take care of it when I picked up the computer. I picked up the computer, reminded the same cashier of what I had previously discussed with him (that I didnt want him to work on the computer if the cost was more than my $50 deposit) and I went home, glad to have my computer back. Once I got home I plugged in the computer and the same "battery not charging" issue showed up on the screen. I brought the computer back. This time I was "under warranty." Five days later, after I didnt hear from the store, I called in. The problem was fixed. Apparently, the battery wasnt pushed in all the way and thats why there was a problem. So, I asked, when I picked up the computer, if the problem was caused by my failure to push my battery all the way in, why did I have to pay $100 for this repair. Apparently, my $100 fixed the issue and then when I went home and immediately plugged in my power supply, I somehow caused the problem to magically re-appear again. Obviously I will never use this place again.

I came into the store to repair a sim tray that was stuck in the phone. they said it would cost 50 dollars to repair the phone and I paid the money and went back the next day to pick the phone up. when I got the phone they said it was an additional 150 dollars to repair the the micro sd card slot. They said that they would call me after the fifty dollars and tell me if the phone needed any extra repair. the phone worked fine after the fifty dollars just the micro sd card slot didnt work. They decided to go ahead and fix the micro sd card slot without telling me which they said they would call me about and then charged me an extra 150 dollars. the phone worked fine without the micro sd card. They were a bunch of disgusting people looking to sucker you out of your money. We all work had barley making it by . I I WILL NEVER GO BACK. RESPONSE TO WNER: the store stated that there would be a 50 dollar down fee and then they would tell me if the phone needed any additional repair. The store did not contact me and proceeded to repair the sd card slot which I did not repaired. instead they demanded another 150 dollars after they decided to repair it without telling me. I did not demand to go half way but I suggested that we split the cost when the owner says I knew about the repair that is false no one ever told me that they were going to repair something that I didnt want repaired. The owner said it took him 2 hours to repair when in fact he spent around 15 minutes on the phone when I went in to pick it up.

Took my Iphone 4s on a kayaking trip and of course despite my best intentions, it got wet. After days sitting in rice it still wouldnt turn on. I started looking into replacing through Sprint, my carrier, and because I don’t have the Apple Care protection it would have been a $650 replacement. Then I started looking at used phone on Ebay and found them to be in the $400-$450 range for a 4s. Then I thought of Gadget Guru, I drive by their store almost every day. I can’t say enough good things about the service. I walked in at about 5:15 on a Tuesday. Ken, the owner, took my phone into the back and had me wait in the lobby. While I was there a steady stream of people came in and picked up fixed phones, fixed gaming consoles, etc. Their lobby was comfortable, with free coffee, water and a nice flat screen TV and magazines. It was very comfortable place to wait and the employees were very nice and courteous as they helped other people. Right before 6pm, less than an hour after bringing in the phone, a technician emerged from the back with my phone, magically working again. The bill was less than $40. They saved me a lot of money and a lot of time. I have recommended their service to several friends and family members, and have gotten glowing feedback from one that brought in a phone with a broken screen. I think they have a great concept and the execution couldn’t have been better, I’ll continue to use and recommend Gadget Guru.
