I entered a checkout marked "speedy" checkout for 29 or less items. The person in front of me was an employee who just got off and was making a purchase. She had 6 bags of items and when the cashier gave her a total she began to argue about the amount of her employee discount. He cashier had to call a manager who was not responding. She left her register to go find a manager. When she finally got done the cashier began to check me out, she did not say hello, how are you , not a word!! When she got done, she handed me my change and did not say thank you, have a good night , sorry for the delay, nothing!!! It is the cashiers place to tell a customer that they need to go to another check out because they have too many items, especially when the customer is an employee!!! Great customer service!!!

Place is a dump. employees smoking outside the entrance to the store. Produce is just terrible , Deli counter employees are very slow and spend most of the time complaining about management and other employees. Your lucky to get 2 days out of the lunch meat before it ends up in the trash. 80 percent of the time not enough cashiers and the one they do have are extremely slow. We have been in this area for 15 years and every since the change to a super Walmart it has just gone down hill. We use this store for convenience and cost but at the end of the day I would rather drive an hour out of my way and spend a couple more more dollars then go into this store.

Pharmacy and checkout has always been wal mart acceptable to me. Used the auto department for the first time and it was total nonsense. Asking me to move my truck twice each time less then like 15 feet. Wanting me to stand there and giving exaggerated timeframe obviously not wanting the work. Mt. Airy wal mart has always been amazing though. You park, tell them what you want, take your key, and give you a timeframe. Unless you got a bunch of time to spare dont come here for vehicle anything.

My call to this Walmart to have tires installed "I have new tires however the sidewall is one size larger" they said "thats fine, one size larger on the sidewall wont effect performance or safety" so I confirmed my appointment, when I got there the tech told me after waiting 20 minutes that he cant put the tires on. This was on a Friday before winter weather and all other shops were booked. I recommend using a knowledagle tire shop that wont cross information to a customer.

Just like most Walmarts. Never enough registers open and the staff is either rude, unattentive, or absent. Sometimes you get lucky and can get in and get back out through the self check out and not have to interact with the employees, but when you do you can expect your greeting or other kindness/decency to go unreciprocated, or they will just blatantly treat you as nothing but bothersome. In the end, you can expect the expected... Its Walmart.

I shop here a lot later at night and usually have an overall good experience. Staff is usually friendly and greets you if youre shopping while theyre working in an aisle. Ive noticed inventory fluctuates quite a bit no matter which hours I shop as items that I come to the store for are not in stock quite often. Online inventory system differs from that of store quite often as well. Good experience here and very friendly place.

I love walmart in general ! But dealing with the customer service desk is a nightmare. Ive tried calling multiple times and they tell me to hold but hang up. So I called again , same thing. I dont know whats worse the poor communication skills they have or the indecency to say mam we are really busy at the moment hold.

Its Walmart. Also, they dont offer the variety they used to. Theyve gone from yucky, cause its walmart, to YUCKY, its starting to seriously suck. But most of the people are pretty friendly. Please just remember theyre human, too. Of course the prices are the big thing. Theyre probably the cheapest around.

Never enough registers open. At 9:45 pm on a Friday they closed all but one register. Loads of people waiting to get out. Then they close half of the self checkouts. Why? A little employee planning would avoid this but every weekend its the same thing. I think I will pay more to shop elsewhere.

The Hampstead MD WalMart has far too many empty products on its shelves. Too often the freezer area where ice cream is located has frost and ice on the frozen ice cream products. I never buy ice cream at this store. I will often travel to Hanover PA to avoid the Hampstead MD WalMart.

Its your typical Walmart. Biggest problems: waited 20 minutes for assistance in electronics and taking about 20 minutes to pay at the checkout with a credit card only to have to get cash out of the ATM because their system was "upgraded" and having issues.

There is a lot of stuff here but the problem is that they dont keep the shelves stocked and they are ALWAYS out of something. It is not unusual to run in for something on consecutive days ant they are out for a week or more. Orderig system is horrible.

Clean store, easily navigable, mostly friendly staff, although youll get the dead eyes of an occasional disenfranchised employee now and again. So much better than Westminster that youd drive the extra miles just to keep your sanity.

Had to stop here for emergency tire replacements, on a Sunday. I was able to get two new front tires on my car in less than an hour. And my car was being worked on in less than 15 minutes. Great friendly service at the tire center.

need to expand grocery side - compared to other walmart super centers it seems like they just have bare minimum selection and on many items they only carry the name brand when I know there is a GV alternative available.

Im not normally a walmart customer, however I love the Hampstead walmart. They have a friendly staff who helps their customers, and the store is very well maintained. Racks are almost always full and the store is clean.

This walmart is always awesome, customer service is a plus never a long line, and they always eager to help. I live in Taneytown, but refuse to go to the Westminster Walmart, Hampstead picked up their slack

Excellent and HONEST service at the Tire and Lube. Wait time is not an issue for me but when its not busy, the oil changes are quick! Unlike the rip offs at Mr. Tire that try to upsell unneeded services

It really is a Super Wal-Mart. Never had a problem here... They have everything you need and lots of things you dont. But you know exactly what to expect from a Wal-Mart. Yes its there go to it.

The store is very large and clean. The employees are friendly. They have a bakery, a produce department and a full grocery section. My favorite local Walmart.

Fantastic. We live equal distance from 2 Walmarts but we always use the Hampstead Walmart. Joan is absolutely amazing. We cant say enough great things :)
