7/22 paid this store a visit terrible selection even worse employees. Kid working here was hellbent on organizing section "M" while I was browsing. Almost took my fingers off while I was looking in section L when he slammed 10 records into the M section 1 inch from my fingers. Walked up to the register to spend over $100 kid working counter didnt even greet me. No thank you for shopping here or anything handed bag for the most unprofessional transaction I have experienced. Done with this place. half the experience in wasting all this money collecting vinyl is the connecting with local stores and cool people. This place sucked true collectors dont waste your time unless you want to see a terrible selection compared what one would find at a good will.

I visited the Record Exchange to sell some of my old records, a very eclectic collection from the 60s, 70s and early 80s. I had been to another used record store with some other records, they barely glanced at my stuff and just offered my pocket change to take it. But the guy at The Record Exchange greeted me as I walked in, told me it would take about a half-hour to review my collection, then looked through each one carefully. He ended up taking most of them and offered me a more-than-fair price, either in cash or store credit (I took the cash). I didnt buy anything there but they had a good collection of records, CDs and DVDs. Overall, I was very happy with my experience there.

Yeah, its just okay -- at least the record selection. The prices were average for a retail brick and mortar store. I was disappointed with the selection of new recent release vinyl. I also overheard another conversation between a customer and employee. He was saying that they do not special order or source vinyl for you. What they have is what they have. Okay...I suppose. But, if you are a "record exchange"....I would hope there would be more focus on the record inventory (current and vintage). Overall, it was an average shop. I would not drive out of my way to come here in hopes of finding something in particular.

Hum. I always try to keep my business locally owner or operated, and support only small businesses like an auto detail certificate instead of Regal Cinemas. Had a great experience with the owner years back. No warm and fuzzy with the young gal on the phone today and sadly they lost my business. Called Game Stop (cant believe there are THREE in the city) and Ethan there was super in the customer service department. Neither could give out prices but he explained supply and demand and how the process works instead of getting defensive and petty. #bummedaboutpoorcustomerservice

Its very hard to go to The Record Exchange and not leave with something in your hands. This is a wonderland for music and games lovers. Still has the feel and the aura record stores had back in the 80s and 90s. Always great stuff. CDs, Vinyl, Games. This is a great place to spend some time looking at stuff. Staff is great. Great location. What more can you ask for?

This shop is fantastic. A great addition to downtown Frederick and the cultural scene. Sam has great prices and a huge selection. He is quick with a suggestion for recommended listening, as well. The store supports local bands and events, hosting shows in the shop on busy days to get exposure for a band. Highly recommended.

I luckily stumbled into this place, and was very happy to see everything video game and physical music related here. I wish it were bigger, but they really do pack everything into every inch of this store. Definitely a highlight of Frederick!

Owner, employees, are super nice and helpful. It is like a party when you walk in the door, or similar to the movie High Fidelity without the snobby remarks! One of the best stores and selection I have seen while traveling the country!

Great selection of new and used vinyl, cds, cassette tapes, movies, and games. Will special order any new vinyl you want. Great staff who are knowlegable. I also like to hit the bargain CD section for great deals.
