I really love this place. I live near towson, so its quite a hike-- but if I want anything beyond weekly crickets, I go to them. We found them when shopping for a leopard gecko, and they offer many different kind of pets. They were careful to keep their baby leos on reptile carpet. They have many animals on display in their store-- lots of snakes, and Ive always thought it a good sign when a store is happily willing to show off its snakes. They also have a number of their own personal reptiles on display, which are not for sale, including an iguana and several different sets of beardies. Their reptile products (which is all we were really looking for) is competitive with other small pet stores in this area, and slightly cheaper then petsmart in MOST things. They get their reptiles from breeders, and have several different morphs of leos available. All the staff I spoke to were perfectly willing to entertain my questions for over an hour, and even pick up one of the geckos to show me how to hold it. They advised me of potential issues keeping reptiles, and when we went back the second day to pick up the gecko I bought, I saw them in the process of cage cleaning-- which I see as another good sign. I like it when a pet store cleans their cages in view of clients, it lets us know that they keep their animals well. They sell their crickets already gutloaded, because they feed them to the animals in the store. I bought my gecko from them a little over a month ago, and since then hes thrived. Hes been easy to handle since I brought him home, adjusted to his new home quickly and is eating fine, and has doubled in size since we got him. Very very pleased with this store.

My fiance and I had high hopes for this place, driving nearly 45 minutes to find it, but were disappointed when we walked in. First of all, the place stinks to high heaven, making me think they dont clean their reptiles tanks as often as they should. Also, they had a fairly small and hodge-podge selection of animals. The place was small and cramped, so much so that I would be cautious of taking small children there. When it was obvious that we couldnt find what we were looking for, after spending several minutes in the store and not once being asked if we needed any help, my fiance and I decided to look at water testing kits for our fish tank. It wasnt what we came for, but we needed one and may as well look. They were charging $25 for a kit that might be worth $15 at the most. Make sure you know how much what youre looking for is worth before you go in, thats for sure. And you might want to bring a carbon filter mask for the smell.

My husband loves this store but after being the one to go buy our crickets and pinkies the last several times, I have to say I am not impressed with the customer service. Its very close to us which makes it convenient but if its not the owner working, I get slow and rude service especially from the older female employee. Shes "helped" me three times and this last time I nearly walked out since she preferred to have a blantant, non-business related conversation after saying she would be back with what I needed. She makes snide comments if I happen to have my kids with me (sometimes, that cannot be helped no matter how much I dread taking them somewhere theyre clearly not welcome) even if she is not the person ringing up my purchase. Her attitude is seriously enough that I will probably not return to make my weekly purchases. I dislike Petsmart but at least they smile and help you when they offer to.

I just had an awful experience. I went in an asked for a couple rat pinks and explained that I am waiting on a snake to be delivered from one of the best Brazilian rainbow boa breeders around, Living Gems Reptiles. And whoever was behind the register began lecturing me about, (because I didnt know what size pinks and wasnt told an exact size yet), how the breeder didnt know what he was talking about and how he would never buy from him, how the breeder wasnt feeding his snakes right and a bunch of other crap...I didnt ask for all that and it was just plain rude and embarrassing. This happened in front of other customers. Then he said he would bring a couple sizes out to show me and then I waited around twiddling my thumbs for 10-15 mins and he never helped me, so I left. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service. Just wow.

This place is gross, smelled terrible, too many animals in small inadequate housing, dirty snake tanks with no water. I picked out what I wanted and was told it was wrong, they tried to sell me things I didnt need, I was treated like I was stupid. Ive owned many exotic pets, have had a very healthy and happy ball python for the years and they made me out to be an idiot about things that I wasnt even asking about. My bedding was wrong, my food was wrong, and apparently I dont even know how big my own snake is!? I spent a couple hundred dollars which I regret, Ive never experienced such horrible customer service from people who didnt even take good care of their own animals. Had to beg for service just to be treated badly. Never going back.
