My Labrador pup went to the doggie day camp 4 times in the last couple of weeks. On the second occasion he was there he came out of the store with a limp in one leg like he had been hurt, we also paid for him to get an ice cream, he came back and vomited the moment we got home. On the third occasion I was told that he was mounting another dog and had been sent back to his kennel for the rest of the day. On the last occasion I was informed that they would no longer allow him into the hotel until I put him through training with them as he was not obeying commands. When we would bring him home from Petsmart he would show an aggression that is not natural to him I put him through 2 sessions at $45 each of training with the trainer there, they were a complete waste of time and I was told that I would need another six sessions before theyd let him back. At this point I realized that this is all a money making racket for the trainer. My puppy has been going regularly to day care at another place and has not been having any issues and gets along very well with the other dogs and the handlers. I feel he was being manhandled at petsmart by the handlers who wer obviously incapable of taking care of a large active puppy.

Do NOT come to this PetSmart for the Pet Hotel!! We planned a week-long vacation and decided to bring our 8-month old dog to stay here thinking it was a great place for him. We paid extra for him to have play time and walking. Our dog was always playful and social, so when we called to check on him and heard he was shy and not eating, we knew something was wrong. When we came to get him we saw these pets are NOT TREATED WELL!!! Its very dirty. The dogs in the "play area" were running around with poop on the floor, and it took at least 5 minutes for the worker in the room to even clean it up! The cages for the dogs were unclean and the whole area was just filthy. Our dog was dirty, smelled like poop and lost weight. He was extremely excited to see us, but unusually quiet. We tried to bathe him and found a large red bump above his eye. When we called to ask how this was possible, the associate on the phone said he may have bumped with another dog while playing!! This is not why we paid for this hotel!!! We wanted a healthy environment while we were away, not a safety hazard. Now our puppy has a cold and is not acting like himself, hes not eating or being playful. DO NOT COME TO THIS PETSMART DOG HOTEL!!!!

The writers of Monty Python’s classic “dead parrot” skit must have had a psychic future vision of the cynicism at this Petsmart. My daughter returned a very sick chinchilla that was dying in her arms. The store manager was defensive and argumentative. “We’ll give it some liquids and antibiotics,” he halfheartedly said before hustling the motionless animal to an unseen veterinarian supposedly in the back room. “Actually, I don’t think anyone here knows how to treat chinchillas,” he then confessed. My wife and crying daughter had the humiliation of waiting in line at the service counter with the dying animal, even though she had called ahead to say she was bringing a critically sick animal to see their vet. They got about as much compassion from Petsmart as you’d expect from returning a broken toaster to Wal-Mart. All the manager wanted to do was get the dying animal out of sight and do a hasty refund to get my family out of the store. This is sickening if it is representative of the Petsmart corporate culture. Their theme song should be from the Steve Miller Band’s: “Take the Money and Run.” Petsmart’s managers might do better being trained to sell vacuum cleaners, which already suck.

While the store had most of the items we were looking for, the staff was wholly unknowledgeable and unprepared to help us with our purchase. We were there to adopt two gerbils and buy the necessary habitat supplies. The first employee we spoke to called out the small animal "expert". This expert knew little to nothing about gerbils and was literally reading off of a pamphlet. He constantly recommended products designed for hamsters or rabbits, that were harmful to gerbils! He knew nothing about their selection of products and kept recommending the cheapest items, whether they were right for our pets or not. When it came time to pick out our two gerbils he mentioned that the only difference was color and that temperament didnt matter. he then proceeded to handle them without any care and terrify the poor gerbils! He threw them in a box and left to have them checked out at the register, forgetting to close the gerbil habitat! The rest of them could have easily jumped out! We would not recommend coming here for your pet purchase. If you must, make sure to do your own research prior to visiting!

I wish I could give this store 0 stars. I bought two chinchillas from this store. A week and a half later I found one of my poor babies dying on the bottom of the cage. He was hardly breathing and was limp. I called the store and they told me I needed to take him to the vet. I rushed him to their store so their vet could look at him. They made me wait in line at the vets desk with a dying animal in my arms. I was bawling my eyes out, they didnt even say they were sorry. They were only concerned about giving me my money back. They were rude and arrogant. They took back my living chinchilla and asked if he was the healthy one. I didnt want to keep him. If one was sick the other one probably was as well. I will never go to this store again. The managers did not care my baby was dying, they just wanted to get rid of me. Their animals are sick and they just dont care. They just want your money, and to shut you up when something goes wrong. The manager even said he didnt know if any of the vets there knew about chinchillas! I will never shop at this location again.

I was really excited when I found that PetSmart boards dogs for a reasonable fee. Well, you get what you pay for. I boarded my dog overnight and when I got him back it was obvious that he hadnt been taken out in many many hours. I dropped him of at 12pm on Saturday and picked him up at 12pm Sunday. When he came out he was urinating while walking. He then went outside and urinated heavily 3-4 times. Now Ive waited up to 8 hours to take my dog outside before and he has never had to pee that much. It was obvious that he probably hadnt been taken out in more than 12-14 hours. Then they gave me a "report card" that says he was the life of the party, he doesnt even play w/other dogs so that was inaccurate. I could tell they just check anything. When I asked them when was the last time he was taken out, I was told they didnt know, they dont write it down. He may not have ever been taken out at all. I dont reccommend taking your dog here. They will smile and cuddle him when you come in, but leave him to rot when you leave.
