I am not one to complain or write to customer service, however, I had a very bad experience in one of your stores, and I would like to bring it to your attention. On Sunday morning, November 7, 2010 at about 11.00 a.m. I visited the Advanced Auto Parts Store located at 6435 Dobbin Road in Columbia, Maryland. I had gone to collect items that I had ordered online. I approached an employee named Garry and had to excuse myself three times before I could get his attention. He did not have any other customer with him at that time. As he went to complete the transaction, I let him know that I was still missing some of the items that I had ordered online. After he got all the items, I pulled a shopping basket to put all the things that I was buying. In a rude manner, Garry commented that he was going to bag the items, so I did not need a basket. As I was putting back the basket, his colleague who was running the register next to Garrys (I believe his name was Reynold) made a remark "you get to see all kind of crazies" and Garry responded, "I tell you" referring to my getting a basket instead of waiting for Gary to bag them. At that point, I let Garry know that I did not appreciate them referring to me as crazy. Instead of apologizing or providing an explanation, Garry rudely remarked, "OK". I felt very hurt and offended. Needless to say, I will not be returning to that store.

I have never experienced such disrespect from any cooperation as I have with this one. The employee Tony has no respect and absolutely no customer service skills. I have tried 3 times to purchase and have my battery installed and Tony replies they are unable to install it due to short staffing. Meanwhile, the other representative is outside installing another customers battery. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. The level of unprofessionalism and disrespect I have experienced is unbelievable and unbearable. I will NEVER step foot in another Advanced Auto Parts as long as you have rude workers like Tony. I wish I could rate this place with zero stars.

Ive been here alot for parts and such. While I usually find what I need, most of the employees dont know much about cars or tools. For instance, I asked for a spring compressor, and they didnt know what one was, and after I explained it, she said we dont have that. Luckily, another customer showed me where they had them. Another time I asked for a cabin air filter for my car, and they tried to recommend the K&N drop in intake filter, after much explaining, they realized they did not have one in stock.

Terrible customer service. Advertise free battery checks and free installation of battery. Showed up and my battery failed the test bought a replacement battery and the man says your going to have to install on your own. He stated there were too many harnesses on my battery when it only really was 2 bolts to come off. It wasnt hard to do but the staff at this location are very lazy and dont assist customers as they advertise they do.

I came to this location to buy front pads and rotors for my 2011 Kia. Upon taking the old parts off the car, I realized the store had given me rear pads and rotors. It took me another two hours and three different stores to finally exchange for all the right parts. This is not the first time Advance Auto Parts has given me the wrong pads and rotors for a brake job. This should be a simple purchase!

Definately one of the worst automotive stores in the area. If you need help or advice dont come here. From the times I have gone there the management has been more concerned with getting people in and out as quickly as possible. The last time I was there the Manager handed me the phone because he could not be bothered to ask another store if they had a part. Avoid if at all possible

The people working at this location obviously do not know what they are doing. I tried to have this old, Santa-Claus looking guy help me find some axle sockets. This guy not only didnt help me, he didnt even look at me. This place sucks. Every time I go there, my experience is sub-par. I certainly do not recommend anyone to go here. Drive a few more miles to go somewhere else.

The shop is located in a typical Columbia Md shopping center, that means the parking lot is a night mare to get in and out of. The shops website parts and what is available in the store do not match and the staff really has no idea what they are talking about when it comes to parts and what parts are available.

Ive had many great experiences getting help here. The last time I came I was convinced I needed a new battery when I found it dead one morning. They tested for free and found no problem. The battery I have has been fine since then. Theres folks there are helpful and knowledgeable.

Took 20 minutes for someone to talk to me. The guy behind the counter wasnt helpful at all and he was talking down to me...Went to the one in Ellicott city and its way better staff there helped me out in seconds of entering the building.

The Grumpy Old Guy With a Beard who mans the counter at this Advance Auto Parts is a chore to deal with. I avoid this store if I can, as I do not relish the prospect of dealing with his attitude. The rest of the crew is no picnic either.

The sales associate behind the register was very rude. Just so happened to see him laughing with another customer when I walked out the door after I asked for help and did not receive any. Wouldnt dream of coming back to this store.

I only needed break lights for my Honda. I called ahead to make sure they had the parts - got there, no line, paid for my parts and that was it. The attendants were very professional and knowledgeable. GREAT experience!

This place is terrible no wonder people go online for prices and to save time. One guy working the counter 7 people in line and no help to be found. Piss poor planning and management. Rock auto here I come.
