About a month ago, I had my first Second Chance experience and was overwhelmed in a positive light with both the idea of the business and the customer service. I bought a few items that day, including a photograph that was an impulse buy, when I saw it hanging behind the counter. A young man named Chris was extremely kind and sparked great conversation with me as the customer. He made sure that I was taken care of and I would not have to carry a thing. When I got home that day, I realized that this picture of mine had not made it in to my car (my fault). So, I called back and spoke with the same young man at the counter (under the chandelier). Chris said he would take a look around, but I never heard back from him since he did not have my number. Last weekend, I brought a friend of mine to Second Chance with me and when I went to the register to check out, this same young man recognized me immediately and said, "Ive got your picture for you." Chris had held it in the back for over a month. Not only was this above and beyond the call of duty, he proceeded to be just as helpful and kind as my first interaction with him. Overall a great place and a great experience!

I have been there about 30 times. Generally dont buy because they dont have what I want. But I do acquaint myself with what they do have. So when I need it or my friends need it we race down and get it. Also I just like to cruise around, chat it up and learn about the folks and the program. You need door knobs? Light fixtures? Hate the big box stores? Try theses people. Someone made a wise-crack that that the staff isnt all that friendly. He doesnt know what these people are doing. He should have the moxie they do. Go. Learn. Watch. This place is fine - (Im no flaming liberal either . . .

Unprofessional and unreliable organization for donation. I contacted Cari from the donations department months in advance of my kitchen remodel. She said they would be happy to take my kitchen cabinets/countertops that are in good shape and would send a truck to pick it up. After the kitchen was removed and placed in the garage, Second Chance now says they changed their mind and won’t pick it up. Unfortunately, I now have to scramble to find some other org to pick it up or pay someone to haul it away. I will not deal with this charity again; there are much better organizations in the Baltimore area.

Items are not priced to move. More of a museum than a place to find recycled building material. Everything they get is donated to them for free, yet they price everything so high it discourages using recycled material. Even items in poor condition are priced very high. I suspect they could make more money as a company if they priced items to move off the shelf. I am rooting for them to get their business straight because they could be a great resource to the community while still making a profit.

Really Piss Poor Customer Service... as a customer that has spent lots of money in this location over the years as well as given your information to tons of potential cliets... for you to give me piss poor customer service is totally out of line ... I simply called in to ask about office chairs.. my question was if they could send ne a few photis of the diffrent office chairs that they have in stock..... the young lady that answered the phone was rude and lazy, to say the least.

Eye candy for the soul. I love Second Chances mission. All who visit should read about this place first before leaving a CONSTRUCTIVE review. Youd be contributing to the cause and feel good that there are people out there who want to help other while providing ideas and opportunities for you to create beautiful spaces. Love the staff. I purchase and donate to Second Chance.

Appreciated the courtesy of Kerri and her donation team. They personally reached out to me and scheduled a donation pick up the next day. I have donated to Second Chance in the past and had a seamless experience then as well. I love their mission and am happy to support this organization in any way I can. Thank you Second Chance! Keep up the good work!

I must say that this organization is absolutely amazing! They have anything from flooring to furniture to....Ok just about everything! Not only do they help with work force developement they helped me get a job when i was very discouraged to not be able to find one. They literally give people second chances, cause in fact people do change!!

A lot of pretty nice things but the prices are outrageous . If these things were donated you would expect them to have a reasonable price on them . I have never seen a non profit retail antique store before. They have the best of both worlds, get it free and charge retail, hope the profits from the non profit are going to good causes.

I cant get enough of "second chance". Every time I go I find something amazing. If you own an older home in Bmore and you want to keep it true to history there is no better place. They will also take your older hardware you cant use gratefully. Help preserve awesome Bmore historic architectural detail and support this amazing place!

This place is the definition of a hidden treasure, assuming youe into vintage, baltimore history, modern, contemporary, and everything else for bldg materials to full brand new kitchens. Im still on the fence regarding pricing. Can anyone confirm, say the price for granite @ $15/square foot --- is that a good deal?

I use to like this place a lot. Its been a hit or miss for the past year. Prices are varied... Some insane $$$ others amazing! This comparing the **selling prices** between antique stores, eBay, etsy and boutiques. (Note I said selling not asking). Plenty of doors and windows kitchen cabinets and fireplace mantles.

Amazing selection. Things Ive seen there: art, theater sets, movie paraphernalia, cabinets, office supplies, crown molding, antiques, keys, tubs with legs, windows, tile, pianos, comics, mirrors, bedroom sets, laundry machines, vintage stove, etc. Reasonable prices but not cheap.

$40 for a scrached up used door. That they didnt even wipe the dirt off of. I can go to hd and get it new. or restore for cheaper than that. Nice stuff but its not worth what there asking. Thumbs down, and head up ass....... $40 for a used 27" door. Put the pipe down price man.

The items are cool, but the prices are astronomical. This is not an antique shop, but prices are in line with one. Not sure who does the pricing... Do not donate items here- they mark the items SKY high after looking at similar items on sites like 1stdibs. Total joke.

Absolutely wonderful. The staff makes the whole experience easy and great. One of the staff members literally spent 15 minutes helping us load our couch onto our car because we clearly had no idea what we were doing. I didnt catch the gentlemans name, but thank you.

Not very organized--but an amazing place! My sister was looking for a kitchen counter for her club basement and found one in almost mint condition for a shamefully low price! I liked their customer service personnel.
