I was surprised by the $10 "membership" fee. I think it should be noted more prominently both on their website and at the store entrance. I was surprised when the cashier wanted $11 for my $1 purchase. I live 18 miles from their location and this was a wasted trip for me. Im sure there are some gems but you have to go through a lot of beat up product before you would find it. Pretty hit or miss on the flooring ... there are not enough of items that are attractive to complete a project but they have plenty of the ugly stuff.

I have been going to this place for many years, I am suprised at the people who complain about prices here. I have bought many boards (even got a super deal on some poplar boards ( 1" X 10" in 6 to 8 ) they cost me less than what I would have paid for one board at Lowes of Home Depot. I have spent (maybe ) $75 there in three or 4 years......the materials I have gotten would have cost me probably at least $400 or $500

I have done so much with the products from the Loading Dock. I remodeled my bathroom, kitchen. I installed new hardwood floors. I used many items for craft projects. There is even a stop for free items such a broken tiles that I have taken advantage of. This is the creative persons dream warehouse. I highly recommend having a look here when starting a new renovation project, youll save a load of money.

Amazing things to be found! While you may have to look through many items to find the perfect fit, The Loading Dock has a whole lot of very great stuff. I found a great lighting fixture, fabulous tile and even a banister salvaged from a big old house. The pricing is excellent. Be prepared to carry your treasures right out of there, though. The best items (including the new or barely used) are gone quickly.

Came to find ceramic tile for a bathroom project and EVERYBODY was helpful! They all pointed me to AL who must have been the main tile guy. He helped my uncle and me figure out how much tile we needed for the job and was honest when I asked what he thought about coordinating the different tile options! Very knowledgeable! The folks at the cashier showed customer service too! Definitely going back!

A great place. A true salvage yard and not a place for TV shows to buy over priced set pieces. I come to places like this in order to save money not spend money. The staff is great, especially the charming cashier. Its nice to support a well run place like this that lets you save money while supporting a good cause.

You cant return something that proves to be defective. They refuse to let you pay for an item and hold it while you get a large enough truck to take it away. Counter help is rude and the office manager is worse. Go to Second Chance or one of the places in DC that values their customers.

I have been going to the Loading Dock for years. I have found many great deals there. I now realize that it was most surely the location of 2 different debit and credit cards getting pinched. If I find I have no chose but to go there. I will only use cash. Buyer beware.

Worst company to work for they bunch of user & Bad Management and kinda racist they will have you clean up a whole section and then tell you they dont need you nomore, they fired the ones who work hard but keep the guy that go on 10 smoke break a shift smh

Awesome place to get building materials. Seems like a "bad" part of town but dont let that deter you from the great deals you can find. Only a $10 fee per year and you dont have to pay it until you are going to actually buy something.

Its hit or miss, depending on whats been donated, but this place should definitely be on your list for materials for projects-check what they have before heading to a retail place.
