I went to Merlin motors just Ive a year ago in April of 2015. Me and my fiancée wanted to buy her dream car a Mini Cooper. I found this little dealership in Portland and thought car is fairly priced and not bad shape. Called asked if I could come get it tonight. The owner said yes I came to the dealership with cash and hand to buy this car. When we drove a hour to come get it I found out it wasnt stickered and it had to be worked on so he said you can pick it up tomorrow. I was frustrated but its only a day. We got the car the next day and loved it had a few dings and scratches but its a used car. We were told we needed a new sunroof put on because old one didnt work. He called me about two or three weeks later and we scheduled a day for it to be put in. I got it put in no problem our car was all fixed felt great. We noticed if it was really hot out the motor wouldnt put sunroofs all way open without you helping so we brought in they shot it with some lube and we went on our way. We noticed a small leak and brought car back. We looked it over with owner and I said I would try some black silicone and go over the edging crack around car incase that had come out and water was leaking there. He said there was a drain there form the sunroof he put in and said brig it back if it continues. We did silicone and kept car in garage when we lived far away so it never got rained on. We moved to westbrook and didnt have a garage during winter. Never noticed a thing because no rain just snow. About two months ago February and March when it stated to rain we noticed the leaking was back and now without a garage was happening every time and made the car smell like mildew. I had car brought to a official Mini Cooper dealer they said sun roof is put in wrong and we should get it fixed but dealership that put it in. Called Merlin went in he asked me why I waited so long and that he would look at it when he has time. I made apt for about two weeks out for when my fiancée and I had a day off together. Today bring 75 degrees I said why not open sunroof for first time this year. When I hit the switch it made a bad grinding sound so I went to put it down and it got stuck one side up one side down. I called and said Im coming over now just to get it down because its going to rain for three days and I cant have sunroof stuck open for that time. I was told nothing he can do he can try tomorrow It got a little heated we exchanged words and I asked if he would back up his work. He laughed said for a used car like it was a joke for me to ask. I am disgusted by his customer service for him to put in a sunroof and in a year it be leaking and now broken to laugh when I ask if he will back up his work. I heard bad stories from friends and co workers about his dealership but said this car is perfect but finding its becoming a nightmare. I will not take my business or let anyone I care about think about going to a dealership that cars that much about their work.

I recently stopped at Merlin Motors to check out a 7-passenger SUV for my stepson and family. Maria was very helpful and not at all pushy. She encouraged me to take the car to my own mechanic to have it inspected if I wished, which I did. My mechanic found some issues typical of a car with 91,000 miles and gave me a quote to fix them, about $1,500. He said with the repairs made, it would be a great car. When I showed the results to Maria, she responded that they would make the repairs and I could take the car back to my mechanic for another check afterwards. Although I love the look of the car and great style and condition of the body, in the end I decided to go with an older mini-van for less money. Even though I didnt make a purchase, I came away feeling that Merlin Motors is a good company to do business with, and I would certainly purchase a car from them in the future. The owner, Natik (sp?), conducts himself professionally, and graciously offered to back my own car out of a tight parking space for me when I was leaving. I was impressed that he was still thinking of "the customer," even though he didnt make a sale.

Last year I wanted to get an SUV and get rid of my FWD car because of long Maine winters so I was looking around to see how much I could get for my FWD car. The quotes that I was getting around Portland area were ridiculous! One day I was passing by Merlin Motors when I noticed a beautiful SUV so I stopped by. The mechanic/owner let me drive it without questions and I liked how I was treated. Very quickly he gave me a minimum price for the SUV and also the highest (by far) trade-in offer for my FWD car. It did not take me a long time to make a decision. The folks at Merlin motors are fair and have an excellent service. I also have to mention that their shop hourly rate is one of the lowest in the city (around $55/h if I remember correctly). I have had my SUV for about one year now and I still love it! I will be using their services in the future for sure. Give them a try! Happy customer

After a month of searching for a Ram 1500 at a reasonable price, I was pleasantly surprised when I found it online at Merlin Motors. There was no pressure to buy and the owner Natik and saleswoman Casey were very friendly and helpful. Natik took special attention to ensure that the truck was in top shape by going above and beyond to inspect any worn or faulty parts and replace them. He worked within my schedule and came in on a Sunday to ensure that the vehicle was ready for me. Out of several experiences at other car dealers and dealerships, I found Merlin Motors to exhibit HONESTY and INTEGRITY, a quality that left me feeling good from the start. Also noteworthy is their onsite garage where their rates beat most places in Portland. I would highly recommend Merlin Motors to my family, friends, and those with whom I do business.

Just bought a 2006 Scion TC for our daughter which Natik was selling for a friend on his lot. They were very accommodating adjusting the price and throwing in extras. Natik handled the deal from start to finish and when we ran into an issue w/the battery, he didnt hesitate to replace it w/a new one free of charge. His staff was very friendly and helpful. It was an excellent experience from start to finish and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend buying a car from him. In fact, our second daughter will be driving soon and we will definitely check out Merlin Motors when it comes to buying a car for her. Thanks Natik. Joe & Michele
