I have never done business with Harpswell auto sales . Never bought a vehicle or any service work or any other business here . Harpswell auto sales mistakenly went to the wrong location and towed a similar vehicle to the one they were actually supposed to be picking up . Right make and model , right color , wrong location , wrong vin number . Unfortunately ,they hauled my vehicle directly to the junk yard where it was destroyed . After two weeks of Harpswell auto sales and the owner denying any wrong doing and ultimately calling me a liar , they accepted fault but still refused to pay full value for my vehicle . After 6 weeks of arguing with the owner of Harpswell auto sales directly ,and getting endless excuses I finally received payment for my vehicle . I filed my complaint against Harpswell auto sales with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU , where the owner has tried down playing this entire case and making him self look like the victim . I posted my complaint on the Harpswell auto sales Facebook page . They only deleted my posting ,but then private messaged me in response to my posting . The owner was upset that my comments on his public Facebook page may cause him poor publicity , he was correct . I only wanted to be paid what I was owed because of his mistake , any negativity is on the owner . If he had just resolved this issue weeks ago like any real business owner , all of this could have been avoided . I have video surveillance of the Harpswell auto sales car carrier hauling my vehicle away ,and I have vin number verification where Harpswell auto sales sold my vehicle at the junkyard and was paid for it . They wanted to reimburse me for junk value of the vehicle , unfortunately , my vehicle was not a " junk vehicle " . Any body that would like to see the pictures or the documentation , or the screen shot of the private message from Harpswell auto sales owner to me ,where he admits guilt of his wrong doing ,but only whines and furthers his excuses of why I havent been paid , please feel free to contact me John Donovan . I would give a zero star rating on business ethics for Harpswell auto sales

They make it pretty easy to buy a vehicle, but use Credit Acceptance, literally the worst financing company in existence. I had a few problems with the vehicle that I brought up right away before purchasing, and they promised me they would take care of it. I tried to get in there a few times to get that fixed but they never gave me a time to come. Just kept saying maybe next week over and over again. They told me that based on my credit I only qualified for one car on the lot. I didnt like it at at all, and they had to "pull a few strings" to get me into something a little better. Good thing because they had a whiteboard in the office and written right on there was the car they wanted to put me in and it said "DOESNT RUN, AND NEEDS BATTERY" They offer free inspection stickers for life as an incentive for purchasing the vehicle, but only do inspections "off the books" before and after business hours.. which is incredibly sketchy. Drove an hour to get a free sticker after my first year and they said "today isnt a good day" and turned me away. So I just completely gave up on that. Its very clear that they focus more on Trucks and truck sales. So dont go there for a car or SUV. Or anything, for that matter.

Lied to. Mis informed , cheated. Was told the vehicle I was getting had a 5.3, it did not. Was told the chip in the WInshield was just filled by Safelite, who has not done business with them in 3 years as I called the Main office because the windshield split 3 days after the purchase. Faulty wiring replacement caused my marker lights to stop working. After I test drive I was told the brakes would be replaced after purchase. They replaced the front pads an did no more, the rear brakes looked like they had been grinding for some time. They denied the back brakes needed replacing, when I brought in the chewed shoes an drums they shrugged it off an offered nothing. Ive seen many vehicles come out of here in horrid shape. This is the second vehicle Ive gotten from them the first only lasted 8 months. The second Ive had to double my initial investment in the first year just to keep it road worthy. Better off buying from the junk yard imo.

When I thought all hope was lost, these guys got me in a TRUCK! Not a pos car or minivan when thats what all of the other places wanted to do. A TRUCK! I cant believe Im finally the proud owner of a Chevy pick-up. I even got a warranty and GAP insurance. Im beside myself still and I really have the faith that theyve given me to help build my credit. Besides that (no pun intended), they were super easy to deal with and really seemed like normal people that didnt look down on me. Amazing experience, hands down! THANK YOU HARPSWELL AUTO SALES!!!!
