We had an appointment at lots for tots recently and were very unimpressed with their services. I have been going there for awhile now, working on two years and I feel like every time I go back there service is worse and worse. From the snotty people who work there, to their sneaky back room unfair practices, it is not worth my time anymore. I never had an issue with them before, and enjoyed selling to/buying from them. However, im not sure what has happened to their business/customer service lately. Their system is you make an appointment, go in with your things and they take your items/bins to their back room and say you can look around or come back later, they go through it take what they want, make a mess of the rest of your bin, and then have you come in from walking around their store or what not, show you a pile on the table of things they want and say a low to minimal offer. I was never really turned off by their offers even when I felt they were low because I figured I dont want the stuff any way so something is better then nothing. But, at my most recent appointment, I brought in a standard sized tote half full of nicely FOLDED clothes, so a reasonable amount, a remote control car, a child carrier, a bath spout thingy, a batman cave wheelie track with two wheelies, and child size hello kitty suit case and a few other things. So, when I went in she wanted the suit case, wheelie set, bath spout cover, remote control car, and clothes....from what I saw. So, I accepted the offer of $15 because even though it was low to me, I understand its a business. So, I get home and start going through my messy bin of unwanted items only to find a single, about 6 inch stack of clothes of about 8-10 items among the other unwanted stuff. Like I said before the bin was HALF FULL ACROSS THE WHOLE BOTTOM when I brought it in. From what I have left, to what was visible to me on the table...do not match what I had brought to them!!! I feel VERY ripped off and a little betrayed. I dont understand how they can continuously do this to people and still maintain a good reputation. I feel disappointed I even had to feel the need to write this about them because I have been a loyal customer for the last 2 years, but I dont think it is fair for them to do this to people and get away with it. It is one thing to give people low offers because it is the customers choice to accept it or not, but another to be deceitful to customers.

This place needs better communication and management! I had an appointment to drop off clothes and when I was there asked if I could make an appointment to bring a bassinet I needed to sell also. The women told me if it was just a bassinet I could just stop by with it any time before 3pm. The next day I called and was ready to bring it over with my moms truck and the women said it was way too crazy that day. Fine. So I arranged with my mom to use her truck a couple days later. I called that day and the woman I spoke to said I really needed an appointment! I explained to her that I was there that past Friday and was told I did NOT need an appointment if it was just a bassinet. She replied "no, you really do need an appointment and we are booked today." This is after I made arrangements twice to get it there. I am a busy mom- my time and schedule is very important to me. You would think they could squeeze me in after telling me I did not need an appointment in the first place. I will take my business elsewhere next time.

Thought since most of these reviews were older I would give selling to Lots for Tots a try. Dont do it. They are still just as bad as previous reviews said. They take your stuff to a room and I should have backed out then. They took way more than they told me, I had a pair of new snow boots in the bag and they tried to take them without paying me but when they told me what they wanted and I said "so you dont want the snow boots?" She got this look on her face and said "Oh, yeah, we took those too. Hold on just a second." and came back with a (very slightly) higher offer then what she had just told me. Ahh well. So I wouldnt recommend selling to them. I could probably reconcile the low offers for my stuff but them lying and taking stuff is just out right wrong.

I absolutely love shopping here, I think their prices are perfect. However, I hate bringing clothes here. I think they are too selective and really dont give you the money youd expect. I could show up wiht a trash bag full of clothes and only get $5 and all the clothes back.... Example: I want to buy onsie pajamas with footies so I go there and might find 1 pair in the right size, I know lots of people are bringing them in but they pass over them unless they are name-brands. Personally I dont care about the brands, I just want onsie pajamas! That being said Id never buy toys, strollers, accessories, etc anywhere else, their selection is great for these items!

Ive never sold clothes/stuff to Lots for Tots, so cant comment on that. But, I *love* shopping here! They always have clean, cute clothing at reasonable prices. You can even find brands like Janie & Jack here, without having to spend an arm and a leg. Also, their babywearing selection is usually very good - I was able to try on several slings and wraps here when my daughter was an infant in order to find one that worked well for us. Easy return policy too. Its also a great place to pick up a Halloween costume or dress-up clothes for cheap.

I got there, they had me bring everything in( a lot of stuff!) one women started going through things took them into another room where I wasnt allowed I was told I could look around or come back later. She took about 15mins took out maybe a couple of items clothing a new knock off purse and sports equipment retail worth over $300 and offered me $20 for it. Not worth the gas for the drive out there. I have 2 kids and will never go there again.

Return policy not as represented. I was told 30 days. When I returned the stroller they informed me it was 2 weeks! I could get store credit. As it was purchased for my granddaughters visit and was too small for her store credit was not terribly beneficial. In addition to the fact they misrepresented the policy. I am donating the stroller to Goodwill. I will not returning to the store and do not recommend it.

The prices that they give you for your items maybe a tad low, but its a quick and easy way to sell your stuff and put a little extra cash in your pocket. The money that I might lose selling to them versus arranging a private sale is made up for the time that I save I just bringing my stuff there. I sold to them several times and will continue to do so.
