The short version: Outstanding professional service, lightning-fast turnaround time, and very reasonable prices. Now that Ive found this place, I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else! The long version: I was one of many unfortunate souls who bought a particularly ill-designed laptop from HP. The manufacturer said they couldnt do anything about the overheating issues I was facing. Another tech store treated me like an idiot and told me to buy a cooling mat. Much like Star Treks U.S.S. Defiant, there was simply too much power under the hood - I was constantly living in fear of melting my components due to overheating. My laptop sounded like a jet engine when it idled, and would shut down due to heat on a daily basis. After reading some reviews online and a tip from a co-worker, I brought my computer to Tech Medic. I explained to Kyle what was going on and he seemed to already have an idea as to what the problem was. That very same day they called me back, and Kyle explained what, specifically, was wrong and how they planned to solve the overheating issues. Since I had also asked to have a new hard drive installed, he walked me through some options to make sure I got what I wanted, at the right price, without losing any of my data. I was able to pick up my laptop the day after I had brought it in, which saved me from a lot of stress! This laptop is like a completely new machine! It performs noticeably faster, hardly gets warm (even when Im putting it through its paces), and the fan no longer wakes the dead. On top of the great results, low prices and quick turnaround, I was impressed with how professional this place was. The store was super-clean. Kyle was very personable and was fun to visit with as I tested out the results in the store. I highly recommend Tech Medic!

My laptop attempted to take her own life in the recording studio one day (tried to pin it on the bass player by leaping from his rig at the moment he stepped on her power cord, shameless, I know) and when I took it back where I had bought it, they totally sucked. Im a pretty easy-going guy, so when I was at the point of threatening legal action, I knew it was time to try a different option. (Not gonna say the name of the place, but it rhymes with schmaptop schmexhange...) Anyway, a buddy at the Doo Wop Shop recommended I take it over to Tech Medic so I did. I was floored by how up-front and accurate they were with their time and cost estimates; right on the money. No B.S., no run-arounds, no high-falutin technical jargon design to belittle me into submission. Just straight-forward English explanations of what needed to be done and why. So my laptop being suicidal, she made another attempt recently by performing a self-lobotomy, so it was time for a new hard drive. The second trip in was even a better experience. It wasnt going to be cheap, I knew, but after doing the math in my head I knew I was getting a WAY better deal than if I went somewhere else or, god forbid, tried to do it on my own. But the best part was, they were able to recover 100% of the data from the dead drive, which I didnt even know was possible. So a couple years of business records were saved. Im still too stupid to back up my data but, I mean, what could possibly go wrong...? Anyhow, these guys are total ACES and I plug them everywhere every chance I get. Great fellas to work with and my laptop will go nowhere else.

My daughters iphone 5S went to the red and blue screen after trying to update and Apple said they could not do anything. We really needed the pictures off of it and found Tech Medic in the yellow pages and they said they would look at it. My husband took the phone in to them and it would charge and turn on and off but had a red and blue screen. We were informed they could not retrieve the pictures but could send it off to a third party which we declined because of cost. When the phone was picked up it no longer turned on and off and would not charge! My husband called them and they said to bring it back. They could not repair the "damage or whatever they did to make it quite charging and turn on and off". I am so mad to say the least, you dont take something and give it back in worse shape than you received it!! I called them after my husband brought the phone back the second time and it was still completely dead and the guy kept saying the "picture chip" is untouched and fine but I want the phone back in the same shape where it at least charges and turns on to the red and blue screen! The guy kept acting like it was no big deal that it wouldnt work at all now because the "picture chip" is fine so just take your phone which is now completely nonworking and basically too bad get over it. HOW IS SOMEONE ELSE SUPPOSE TO NOW LOOK AT THE PHONE SINCE YOU GAVE IT BACK TO ME LIKE THIS, UNABLE TO CHARGE AND TURN ON SO THEY CAN SEE IT!!!

Ok so here it is, last Friday I called Kyle at Tech Medic and he helped me in a pinch. I went to another "cell phone repair place" in Lexington, you all know who I am talking about, and they refused to help me because they were to busy but Kyle did it even last minute because I told him I am from out of town and was going back to Buffalo later that day. I bought a screen front for my sons iPhone 4s and Kyle and his tech guy showed me why this one was not a good choice for his phone being this was a cheap model and not even made for this newer model and it was for the regular iPhone 4, again I bought this from that other cell phone repair place in Lexington and had to return it. Kyle was even so kind to look at my phone and spent 30 mins of his time to help me with a problem I had with it at no charge. They also have the best geek stuff for all your computers and they have a collection of the coolest little gadgets to buy at the best prices. Dont go to a place just because they advertise more or come up first with a google search, read the reviews and you will see this is the best choice for cell phone and computer repairs and tech help. MY name is Johnnie Jones and one day I was at the Cricket store and I noticed that there was a computer store next to the store. I went in a few days later and brought my computer in and I have been coming back ever since. And the reason why that I have been coming back is because that Ive had some of the best experiences in the staff. Kyle has helped me to not only understand my computer but also has educated me with a lot of the things that I did not know that I had. And it is such an enjoyable experience that I will always come back for his help and not only working with my computer but also helping me to understand a lot of things that I did not know about the computer. It has been such an enjoyable experience. I would like to recommend this store to as many of my friends that needs help with what I need help in and getting their computer repaired. Thanks a lot.
