Chantelle Rogers
Had a horrible experience today with this Cracker Barrel! I called in an order at 12:55 for a childs grilled tenders with green beans for the side, and a Smores dessert. I told the order taker that I was in a hurry and not far away, and was assured that this was something that would be ready very quickly as it was easy to plate. I arrived at the store, used the restroom after waiting behind a family that had the stalls filled up, looked atound, and then I paid at 1:24 expecting my meal to be at the counter waiting on me since the restroom took so long. It was not so my meal was called for. I waited...and waited...and waited. Finally my husvand came in to see what was taking so long, picked out a candy bar, and i paid for it and asked about my meal again. The charming cashier called back for my meal again. I waited...and waited..and waited. Finally I told the cashier that I just had a kids meal and a dessert and I was told it would be ready and that it had been 40 min since I called my order in. She called back to the kitchen again saying: and I quote "I need the order for Chantelle, Can anyone even hear me??" She finally got a reply that I couldnt hear and told me "they are putting your order together now" WHAT?!?!??!?!?! I had ordered it and paid for it long before and they were just now getting my small meal prepared?!?! Okay I understand its Saturday, theyre busy, and Im a small order, but at least my food will be hot and fresh...right?!?! NOPE. I finally have my meal brought out my ice is melted in my drink, my food is COLD in an undivided container so its a mixed pile of chicken strips and green beans with sweat all over the lid that its been sitting in, and my ice cream that came with my dessert is almost completely melted away and its in the same container as the hot cake and without a lid on it so the melted liquid is turning the graham cracker crust completely soggy!!! I saw the melted ice cream before I left and requested replacement ice cream and recieved it in a separate container with a lid. Which kept it cold while I ate my cold meal, and it took me about 15 min to eat and the ice cream was completely frozen still. So that should tell you how long my meal must have set while I stood around waiting for it to be brought out to me! When my replacement ice cream was brought out I also asked for some honey mustard for my tenders and was given this very rude reply "why dont you look through your bag and see if theres anything else you need so I dont have to make more trips" And this was obviously a manager in their business atire?!?!?! Seriously?!?! I am a Christian and kept a smile on my face the whole time and just said no mam thats all Im missing. I understood that they were busy on a weekend day and just left it alone. It wasnt until I got into my vehicle to eat and saw the state of my plate and the coldness of my food that I decided that a review was in order. I LOVE cracker Barrel and order to go often on road trips. I have had to wait longer than necessary a few times, but had hot food and it was understandable. This time it was just very poor management, and rudeness that was unnecessary in the face of the inconvenience I was experiencing as a customer. So I felt it was worthy of speaking up to have my voice heard so that hopefully no one else has the same experience.

I dont branch out much and try different foods, I normally stick to the same thing. So at Cracker Barrel it is either an omelette or rainbow trout. There is absolutely no consistency with the omelette size, way it is cooked, the consistency of the bacon or amount of cheese. However as long as the eggs are not undercooked Ive always enjoyed it. I normally love the hashbrown casserole, but from time to time you get the portion that is so burned/crunchy on the top that by the time you scrap it off you dont have much left. Their grits are always so runny and watery - sometime clumpy too. When the biscuits are fresh and not overcooked they are absolutely delicious. I love the trout and like the coleslaw. The waitress service varies so; Sometimes you cant get your water refilled and forget about getting an extra butter. But that is not the norm. They give you your ticket shortly after the food arrives - not crazy about that Their take out is also very inconsistent Sometimes they give you lemon with your trout, sometimes not Sometimes you get tartar sauce, sometimes not - even if you ask for it Sometimes you get everything you ordered, sometimes you dont. And they have the audacity to ask you if you want to come back and pick up the missing item - I just got home, it would 10 minutes there and 10 minutes back, everything would be cold. The customer service is not very good when that happens.

WORST experience EVER. First off, it took 10 minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge that we existed. At that point, she took our drink order, dropped off the drinks, and ran off without a word about taking our food order. She didnt come back by for another 15 minutes to take our order (we had to flag her down). We then proceeded to wait for our food, which didnt come to the table until we had been there for an hour and 15 minutes. We also went without refills from the time she took our order until the food came. At this point, we were all starving and dug into our less than mediocre dinners. As Im chowing down on my chicken and dumplings, I pull a piece of METAL out of my mouth that was in the chicken. When mentioned to the waitress, she just shrugged her shoulders and brought another plate. Why would I even trust eating more after that??? And, again, she never came back by until about an hour later to give us the check. Looked at our empty cups, and attempted to just walk away. We had to stop her to ask for more refills, which she only brought 2 of the 5 of us refills. This will be the last time I ever suggest to my family that we eat at this establishment. Im thoroughly disgusted with our experience.

Only giving this place 1 star because its required!!! Today it is 95° at the Cracker Barrel in Elizabeth town, Kentucky. There was a small dog tied to a car on the blacktop in the hot parking lot crying and panting excessively. A group of us went to the greeter at the front door and complained where she said "our manager said there is nothing we can do" we went to the counter where we were told to wait, we said we cant it is going to have heatstroke. When they did not want to announce the dog we told them we would go in the dining room and yell for the owner so they finally announced it. We got water for the dog and went outside where the manager followed us to the car. He then proceeded to tell the black man to leave because he upset people. That poor man did nothing wrong I was more vocal than he was. Then the owner said he would not come out. The police were called but we were told they were busy and it would be awhile. When the owner of the dog came out he said it was his dog and he would treat it the way he wanted. Today I saw #Crackerbarrelracism #Crackerbarelemployeesnotcaringaboutanimals and animal abuse.
