This pet store stands out on two aspects - the quality of product and the quality of service. The supplies sold by Leash on Life are, indeed, quality. They are also affordable, so that you dont have to choose between your accessories and your pets. The products supplied by the store are selected by the store owners...not just warehoused in as a part of a marketing scheme like with some large, conglomerate pet supply places. Most of all, the owners really go out of their way to buy local. If you cant find something, they will do their best to order it in. Treats, toys, books, and more are rotated through, so its not the same old, same old. The service is remarkable. Fun, friendly, and knowledgable, the ladies who own the store, and their staff, are amazing individuals. Theres the fun photo-crammed pin-up board with their customers, a leash holder (you are invited to bring your pet with you to the store), and, lastly, the pet portraiture. That was wonderful for us, as our sons pet was dying, and I wanted a nice photo shoot with him and the animal. Amazing quality, and all at a very reasonable price. Do you, and your pet, a favor and stop by Leash on Life. Youll be amazed that such a specialty store is special because they are not gouging you, and because they genuinely care!

Leash on Life is the perfect mold of how small business should be molded after. They are not only willing to help you with your questions but they offer other options that I might not have thought of. They also help inform people to make the best educated purchases, without showing any personal bias (unless asked lol.) I like that, I like making educated decisions then once I believe I have picked the right one I like to ask their opinion. I have 2 dogs with sensitive stomachs and I have a lower budget but still needed quality food, I struggled for almost a year trying to find the best dog food for my dogs, then I found Leash on Life. They understood my low budget and didnt try to push me into buying the more expensive dog food. They now order in a variety of dog food for me that they dont carry on their shelf. Not only that but they order it automatically for me so I dont have to remember to call every 2 weeks to order it. I 100% only have good things to say about Leash on Life!!!

Amazing business, competitive prices and fantastic staff! Ive only shopped here several of times but my girlfriend always comes here to buy her food. Whats so amazing about this place is the staff genuinely care about you and your four legged family members. The owners get to know you and Ive only been here several of times and they already know my name which is astonishing and that just makes you wanna keep coming back. What really done it for me thou was the last time I was here they didnt have the food I was looking for in stock. So they ordered the food no charge and it came within 2 day. Lastly the owners gave me some sample packets of the food to get me by. I would rate this place A++ the staff really go above and beyond!!

Love this place! They only carry brands that they can stand behind, which in a world of constantly recalled dog food is comforting. The staff also knows all of the equipment and food really well. I have asked about food brands I hadnt heard of and was able to learn a lot. If you bring your pet in the staff is great about helping you try and test out different products with them. The staff is also great with dogs (I assume cats as well, but I dont have any!). They are really friendly, but only reward when the dog is being well behaved and they ask before giving your dog a treat. My pup that isnt a big fan of people fell in love with a staff member and started following her around. Could not recommend either location more!

My Fiance and I have been looking for healthy grain free and low carb. food for our two fur children. Its been a struggle to find decent food in the quad city area. So we decided to expand our search and we happened to come across " Leash on Life". We made the whole hour and 16 minute long journey to the store to check out the options.....and we were not disappointed. The staff was beyond friendly and knowledgeable. Any questions we had were easily answered and you could tell the staff had a genuine understanding of the products and were happy to offer insight. A effin plus we rate this place!

I love this place. The owner and the employees care about every single customer and pup that walks through the door. They are very kind to all the pups and offer great suggestions and allow you to try products on in the store. They are all very knowledgable about the dog scene around Iowa City and surrounding areas. The best part of shopping here is supporting a local business. The prices are very fair and I would say are on par or less expensive than Petco a chain store. They offer only the highest quality items. We love Leash On Life!

The staff are always very helpful. The owners are even more helpful. They will even adjust their usual stock if you tell them you will be buying a lot of something on a regular basis. The products they are sell high quality. My pets eat like royalty on grain-free food from Leash on Life. The only thing I would prefer they change is to be open at least one evening past 5:00. I can only shop on weekends because my work hours are longer than the store hours. That means I really have to pay attention to when I am getting low on pet food.

Leash on Life is dog-centric, as the stores name suggests, but its cat toy selection is better than pet stores 100 times its size and it carries a wonderful array of natural treats: freeze-dried shrimp and flaked whitefish, for example, in addition to the more commonplace Feline Greenies. The Leash on Life staff has been unfailingly helpful in finding toys and treats our fussy cats will love!

I recently went in search of a new food for my cats. The staff was very helpful in making a selection and even offered up several samples. They have a well organized and well stocked store. Many foods, treats and toys you wont find in other stores. I will definitely be making this my regular stop for all things Kitty.

This is a wonderful, locally owned store. There are many unique items for dogs (and some for cats too) -- treats, toys, coats, and anything else you could want. You can bring you dog and get her fitted for a coat or a harness. The women who own and work there will help you find what you need, and couldnt be nicer.

This place has some great toys that my cat loves. I hope they never run out of these little mice that they sell, because she loves them more than any other mouse toy out there. Also got a cat tunnel that has held up through her constant abuse of it.

Every experience has been good. The only problem I have is the hours. I cant seem to make it there . I dont live In iowa city. I work nights. So hanging out in iowa city from 7am to 10 am or 12 is not very convenient to me.
