So when I started my day I hadnt intended on purchasing a 2013 Dodge Avenger. That may be the only half ways decent thing I got out of Dan Deery, which was where I started my experience. The first thing I told the salesman at Dan Deery when I walked through the door was that my credit was bad and I didnt have time to waste if it wasnt going to work out. I had an emergency situation as Id recently lost two cars in two weeks and needed something reliable to come back home (130 miles one way) on the weekends to see my Daughter... who was with us by the way. After reassuring me things would be fine, the salesman got my credit score, went through a lot of paperwork, then proceeded to start showing me vehicles... most of which I had no interest in, especially considering the prices. After spending a significant amount of time looking I finally found one, that according to him met the criteria needed for the banks to give me a loan (you know, new, expensive, low miles,a warranty). It was a Dodge Avenger, completely loaded. So now we have the vehicle and were back at his cubicle waiting for final approval. Mind you its been about six hours. After more waiting the salesman calls me back to his manager office, where the manager shakes my hand right before informing me the banks will not finance the Dodge Avenger, they will however finance a brand new overpriced car I have no interest in. So I quickly stand up, tell him thanks for your time and start walking away as the manager asks if everything is o.k ? Yeah, everything is great. I have one day to find a car, my Daughter has been restless in the car with her Aunt for six hours and youve just wasted every ones time. Ill let you imagine the other thoughts I was having about the Dan Deery dealership at that moment. So a little angry and frustrated... ... ... Pat Mcgrath. This is what buying a car should feel like every time. No sleazy sales man trying to B.S me like I cant see through the persona, just good people trying to sell you a good car that meets your needs. Our salesman was Josh Baker, and though he was relatively new, he did a great job making the experience a good one. I told him my credit score and he said no problem. He asked me what I wanted in a car, instead of telling me what I should get. Car salesman aside, he seemed like a very genuine guy. Give this man a raise. Speaking of raises I sure hope Tammy Roberts makes her weights worth in gold. Not only did she get me financed, but she recently called to tell me she found a better lender and that my interest was going to drop by 7.65 %. If you have not so good credit, you can understand how much that really is. Everyone was very friendly and stayed well after they should have been at home with their families to help me out. They even managed to find my Dodge Avenger there, and although not loaded like the other I still love it. Its the perfect new car to go with my new job and new place. Pat Mcgrath has made a loyal customer for life. Now what to do about these other so called dealerships...

I went to Westdale today just to do some research into a car I want, since Im not sure exactly what I want to do. A sales associate who I believe said his name was Jaime came out to meet us as we were parking so we could walk around. Im driving somebody elses truck right now, and Im used to driving a sedan, so its an adjustment and I havent quite mastered parking yet in a large vehicle. So, I park around the back of the building so I dont have the possibility of hitting any cars or upsetting anyone with the parking. Jaime waited for us to park. We walked straight to the cars, and he yelled at us "Do you have an appointment?" I told him no, and we kept walking. He started following us, asking what we were looking for. I told him we were really just looking, and Id let him know if we needed anything. He snapped "Okay." and walked away with his hands on his hips, obviously irritated. We walked around without him bothering us, and finally I saw a car I liked. It happened to be unlocked, so I opened it and sat in it, keeping the door open. He walked up to the back of the car, leaned against the trunk, and said "Well these arent supposed to be unlocked." I told him that it was already unlocked, and I really just wanted to sit in it and see how it felt. He continued to stay there, and basically just stared down my boyfriend. I got out of the car, told my boyfriend I wanted to leave because I dont like being stalked around the lot, and started walking away. Jaime said "Well, if you dont want to talk to someone, come back on Sunday." I commented to my boyfriend about how unprofessional that statement was, and Jaime yelled back "We require a 20% down payment!" like I couldnt afford the car I was looking at. This is not the first time an employee has made assumptions about us, as an associate approached me in my car once and, after telling him I was doing research and wasnt looking to buy today, he said "So I assume were going to shoot for financing?" McGrath is not a bad dealership, but the employees at Westdale Used Car Superstore are pushy and wildly unprofessional. I assume theyve had their $2000 for your trade deal going on for over a year now because its the only thing bringing in customers. Their customer service certainly isnt doing that for them, so I guess they need some other gimmick to bring people in. I will not be giving them my money, thats for sure.

I am new to town and went to them to see about purchasing my vehicle and possible buying something else. I was asked to come down and bring my truck so they could appraise it and give me a "great price." After spending 3 hours there I was told that the guy that could do the appraisal wasnt there and that " he wasnt answering his cell phone." This morning I get a call from someone I spoke only briefly with yesterday (Mr.Tobin), telling me that there was a recall on my truck and there was "no fix." This was not only untrue, but he used this as a way to try and lo-ball me on my vehicle. I called the manufacturer and was told that there is a recall on the takata air bag, and there is a fix, and the part is on auto replenish with their affiliate dealership Pat McGraths Dodge dealership, and that if they didnt have the part that Chrysler would overnight them the parts needed. A truck one year older than mine with twice the mileage is selling for 22k and one a year younger than mine is selling for 29k, and both have the same recall, yet he used this as a way to basically tell me my truck wasnt worthy. He offered me 10k less than what my vehicle is actually worth. I have all service records on my truck, it has brand new tires, a brand new A/C system. custom stereo and many added features, yet this guy was trying to tell me my truck was substandard. This is no way to do business and if anything they made sure I wouldnt be buying anything from them ever. I do business with McGrath Indian and they service my motorcycle, and they have always been very nice to me, but I am just stunned at how rude and offensive this guy was. I told him I would call Dodge and provide him with the details of what I found out....of course when I call back he is unavailable and hasnt returned my call. buyers beware.
