This little establishment is always brimming with activity whenever I go in and the staff is super friendly. The interiour is cozy, especially with the new cushioned seats added and there is free wi-fi for customers. Usually the wait for a latte is only a few minutes - the time it takes to make a fresh batch of espresso and steam the milk. Also, the drinks tend to be very good and Im always keeping an eye out for their tiramisu, which is out of this world if they have it. As far as wi-fi policy, I just want to state that Ive been at the Java Haute (JH) when Baskin Robins was next door and had personally seen many occasions when a group of people would buy icecream or milkshakes and then come into the coffee shop to sit in the comfortable chairs and use the wi-fi, so its totally understandable that JH enforces a customers-only requirement.

The coffee here is certainly better than average but I wouldnt recommend this place unless you lived next door. You can get better coffee that is worth a drive and you wont have to deal with the very rude owner. Having said that though, rudeness is at least a characteristic I can understand if not deal with but the owner seems to be beyond that. Not only has she been openly rude to her employees and customers but even when she is being nice she is very condescending. My wife and I were appalled to see her sarcastically criticize an employee. It was uncomfortable to be in the room. The drinks are certainly ok but not worth it with the tense atmosphere the owner creates.

I was the "other client" mentioned in the reveiw above. The lady who didnt buy a drink was the one who raised her voice, not the store owner. They enforce the drink required for internet access rule for everyone. In fact, after the incident above, they put up even larger signs starting this. I think internet access with purchase of a beverage is fair, espically since some big chain coffee shops charge for acess.

Ive been going to Java haute for 5 years now and I continue to love everything they do. While in college this was a great study space and after graduating a great place to grab a coffee and a quick bite to eat. Theyve got some good coffee selections and the space provides plenty of room for studying or getting work done in a comfortable atmosphere. Definitely my favorite coffee place in Terre Haute.

Loved this little coffee shop so much that we visited it twice on vacation. It has art local artist on the walls. The coffee was good, and the deserts and scones we had were delightfully delicious. The staff was friendly, patient, polite and courteous. I wish we had a coffee place like this in my home town!

Java Haute has a wide selection of fresh brewed drinks and is half the price of Starbucks. The environment is newly renovated as of mid 2012 and is 3 times the size of any Starbucks in the area. Free Wi-Fi, large patio, ample parking, Open 24 hours, great service, creative environment!

I walked in here for the first time and immediately loved the atmosphere of the place. The creative paintings on the walls, the cozy arrangements of the furniture, and the relaxed patrol s gave this place the feeling that Starbucks was tying to go for but is too corporate to achieve

This is my go-to coffee shop in Terre Haute and a great story of a local shop becoming a lasting success. Its a little out of the way for most, but well worth it if youre headed to Terre Haute North HS or Rose-Hulman, or if youre staying in town for awhile. Come check it out!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff except for a horrible Owner who is very condescending to her Staff and the tightest Penny pincher in the Business. Stopped going there after her Rudeness was just overwhelming. Bless the sweet Souls that work for this business.

I enjoy this establishment! The customer service is superb, the food is high quality and very tasty, and the atmosphere is positive and conducive to fellowship AND productivity. The only improvement that I recommend brighter lights over the tables.

Stopped in while on a road trip and was pleasantly surprised! Great coffee and the prices are decent as well. The staff was friendly and the PB mousse brownie was delicious. Would definitely recommend this to anyone in the Terre Haute area!

This is a local coffee shop with an inviting atmosphere. The coffee selection is varied, the menu includes breakfast and lunch, as well as bakery items. The staff is friendly. They have 24 hour service at the drive through window.

Had a great cappuccino and pastry the first time I was here back in Aug 2015, then yesterday morning Jan 10, the cappuccino was poorly made. Milk was way over steamed which is the most common mistake when making espresso drinks.

Awesome local coffee shop with great breakfast and lunch options. Love working on my writing projects in one of the booths. Also live their homemade pumpkin muffins and iced tea as Im not a coffee drinker :)

This place offers quick service. The atmosphere is loud if you are trying to study. Comfortable vibe. One of the only no conglomerate coffee shops in Terre Haute.

Skip right over Starbucks and head for Java Haute. The coffee is tastefully brewed and the muffins are to die for. We are glad we travelled through Terra Haute.

The products they served were great and the employees were great but the owner is a horrible person. I have many reasons. This place is no longer worth the time

I paid $4.76 for a cup of slightly bitter milk masquerading as a latte. Just go to Starbucks if you dont want a 50% chance of your coffee being undrinkable.

I wont go out of my way to purchase my drinks at Java Haute. Overall not that great of service...very slow. Not a lot of seating so get your drink to go!

Drinks are good but food always takes 10 to 15min. Its good. Its just unreasonably slow. NEVER go if you have somewhere to be on the next hour.

The staff was extremely friendly, the drinks are amazing, and the food is to die for. What else could you want in a nice relaxing coffee shop?
