I think Critter Corner needs to be more educated on the animals they sell. We have bought several animals from them, yes they all survived and we love them very much. Their knowledge was very limited thus, the tank size they told us was 30 gallons off, thank God we could afford to buy them a new one right away or we would of had a DEAD pet. When I did have a problem with my pet, it was very hard to get the owner to call back, made it a couple of days, after I could no longer return the pet, it cost me 100. at the vets for a problem he could of done for free..There are always dead fish in their tanks AND THE PLACE SMELLS. No reason for that other than not taking care of their animals. Will never go back.. Aquarium World in Lafayette is my answer, well worth the drive.. Critter Corner should be shut down until they have better building and know more about what they sell.. P.S. Some animals require permits that are unobtainable in the State of Indiana. Extremely big fines..

I actually worked here when I was in high school, it was awful. The place was always filthy, there are dead animals everywhere, fish, reptiles, rodents. The animals were hardly socialized. The owner is a real jerk. Not a nice guy at all. I saw the puppies come in one day, they were in a dirty van, in small cages, stacked up to the ceiling of the van, just packed in there. Clearly from puppy mills. The puppies were filthy, a white german shepherd came in, that wasnt even white. When I asked the owner if he would like me to give the pup a bath, he acted like it was a brand new idea. Many of the animals are sick, I never heard of anything being done to maintain the health of the animals, nothing at all. When I was little, it was my absolute favorite place to go into, it was hard to grow up and see the harsh reality. Ive hardly been back in since my employment ended there, and I most definetly would not pay the highly overpriced prices for anything from there.

Dont buy any salt water fish from this place unless if you plan on literally burning money if you want a coral tank. we got a royal gramma from there and it gave our fish ich and all the fish are dead now if you want to buy fish from there you will need to have a quarantine tank and medicate them with copper to get ride of the ich do not treat them in the tank you plan on putting your coral in or Ill your coral and invertebrates. Word of advice buy fish from pet stores that run copper in ther tank and have quarantined tanks. They have good selection of fish if you want a fish only tank but if you want a coral tank you might want to look else where. aquarium world in Lafayette is a Great place they have coral, fresh water fish, salt water, and everything you need to maintain a clean healthy tank. They people there have a lot of experience and know that they are doing. They also run copper in there tank and have quarantine tanks for the fish they receive.

My daughter got a baby turtle in Florida-it was in a tiny cage, so we went to Critter Corner to get a bigger home. The salesman suggested different food, a specific lamp, a certain size tank, a floating rock, etc., and then told us to put plenty of water in it, that the water would last longer, etc. We didnt know a thing about turtles, and are not looking forward to telling our daughter when she comes home from school that her baby turtle that survived a van ride for 40 hours with 8 other kids, drowned. I have since learned that that baby turtles arent supposed to be in deep water even if they have a rock platform to rest on too. My daughter will be crushed, and I too am pretty sad at drownding the poor little thing. If youre going to work in a pet store and give advice to new pet owners, you should know your stuff. Please be careful. :(

I only buy from them to rescue some of the reptiles. My Wife works with the small mammals and she was telling them how to take care of there degus and they were feeding them the wrong food and not giving them dust baths . Most of there reptiles are sick if you want a reptile drive to the indi reptile show and buy from a breeder , its cheeper and thats were the pet store gets them and jacks up the price . Most of the things in there have mouth rot , respretory infections, and other problem. I have kepted and bred reptiles for 23 years,and this is the worst place i have ever seen. I asked one of the workers weather a snake was male are female he said its a female because it dosent have the spurs... well only boas & pythons have spurs, this was a rat snake and they dont have them.... clearly dosent know what there talking about.

Critter Corner is a pet store nightmare! I had to buy crickets for my lizard because I was waiting for my other feeders that I bought online to come in. When you walk in, you are overwhelmed by the smell. It honestly smells like theyve never cleaned the place. The animals in there are in poor condition. They all look dirty and are kept in improper housing. I saw 3 adult bearded dragons being housed in a 20 gallon tank and a shi-tzu puppy and a yorkie puppy housed together in a breeder tank!! And thats just to name a few. I honestly hate that place and would love to see it close their doors. I dont know who inspects this place, but they are obviously not doing their job. Its just sad that these animals are in these conditions. Please do not buy from this store, please!!

NEVER purchase anything from this horrible company!! I have spent $1200. 00 for dogs from Critter Corner my last one cost me $600.00 just 16 days ago. I was told to take her to my Vet which I did -- only to find my little Sheltie had an eye infection, skin infection, worms and double dew claws on both feet (which my Vet said should have been removed by breeder)! When I called Pat (the owner) he informed me that this was my problem. I had my Vet treat the puppy only to find out that Critter Corner will not cover any of the additional costs so... my $600.00 puppy is now $ 800.00 and I still have to have the dew claws removed to protect her paws which will cost $250.00 to $350.00. I HAVE LEANED MY LESSON WELL THIS IS ONE COMPANY THAT SHOULD BE CLOSED.

We were in Critter Corner a couple months ago and our first experience was when the lady thats works during the day was helping us and the owner walked up and just started laying into her about nobody being up front. Very uncomfortable for us. I like the fish that this store carries but the prices are way out of line. I have been in the market for a 75 gallon tank and stand for a couple weeks now and want to support locally owned stores but a lesser quality stand and tank were about 90 dollars more than the chains. I ask if he could do better on the price to no avail. Even another locally owned pet store was 60 dollars cheaper on the tank alone. Now with Petsmart opening in Kokomo this summer her is gonna have to compete with yet another chain.
