This issue began with lack of clarity around Kroger policy for digital coupons and quickly degenerated into the most unbelievably ridiculous consumer experience. Policy issue: There is no indication that the e-coupons are sometimes manufacturer coupons. I am not a coupon person, but given the ease of e-coupons, and Krogers ambitious advertising, I decided to try it. Much to my dismay, after over 2 hours in the store, attempting to determine which items were correct, I rang up all my groceries, and was informed that roughly half of the coupons “don’t work.” The cashier told me there was a code that said the coupon had already been used. As I’d obviously never used the coupons before, I asked politely but directly for a store manager. She was a startling disappointment. I was informed that e-coupons WERE manufacturer coupons, and couldnt be combined. Believing there must be a computer error, as this conflict wasn’t noted ANYWHERE on the website, print out, or multitude of advertisements. I was informed it was on the paperwork... she was also unable to find any indication. At that point the store manager informed me I was welcome to log a complaint on-line. After two hours, and absolutely poor customer service from the highest store management, I was no longer interested in patronizing this Kroger. I asked for my coupons back, and began to remove the personal reusable shopping bags that I’d brought. The cashier, who had been making disparaging comments throughout, immediately became Extremely vocal. Including comments like, “You know I’m going to be the one that has to put all of this away!!” I replied that after two hours of wasted time in the grocery, that really wasn’t my concern. At that point, the cashier picked up all of my coupons and threw them into the air exclaiming, “YOU can pick those up!” Next, he threw my personal belongings on the floor behind him and used his body to block me from picking them up. When I pushed past him to rescue my belongings, he exclaimed, “That’s ASSAULT!! YOU JUST ASSAULTED ME!! I’m calling the police!” This is surreal. I left the store to find the cashier STILL harassing me, and following me to my vehicle. He was attempting to intimidate me, and it was working. There is obviously a chemical or mental imbalance to account for this behavior. I called 911 hoping that knowing he had an audience would moderate his behavior. It didn’t seem to make an impact at all. At this point, another store employee, Jarold (I believe) came outside, and bodily pulled the cashier(whom he referred to as Cody) back into the building. I obviously will never ever return to Kroger. I will do everything within my power to share this experience as widely and publically as possible to encourage others to make an educated decision. Intimidation and harassment is never okay, particularly from a grocery chain.

I have life-threatening chronic auto-immune condition which causes me not to sleep much most nights. I went into local Kroger at about 2:30 am this morning (January 6, 2016) and I had spent over a half hour shopping and got to register---no cashier was visible anywhere while I was working to scan the items at the register. The screen on register was not responding well to all of my touch strokes. It froze up when I was trying to look up the code/price for bananas and the screen would not respond to anything. I waited for cashier to show up, thinking the freeze of the register would have notified her. Absolutely nothing happened. I stated loudly, "I need a cashier" while looking directly at an old man working as a security guard in the front who was about twenty feet or so away from me. (Also, there was a young guy mopping/sweeping the floor in the front of the line of resisters.) No one responded so I put my arms up in the air so maybe the cashier would be able to see me. Still no response from anyone resembling a cashier. Finally, I then yelled even louder so maybe the cashier would hear me, "Cashier, cashier, cashier, I need a cashier, cashier, cashier". A lady came from down an aisle and stated: "You do not have to have that attitude". I told her I was not upset I just needed a cashier so I was yelling out for one, then she stated it was not appropriate to be yelling which I then stated I was just yelling out loudly so the cashier on duty who I could not see would hear me. She stated I should have gone down any aisle to ask the employee to find the cashier---there was no sign stating to do this so I did not know to do this. (At this Kroger overnight every time I have been there in the past, there has ALWAYS been a cashier within in view of the registers.) The cashiers snotty, condescending attitude did not change by that point which at that point upset me so I told her I did not know to do this with a stern tone similar to hers. She told me she could have the security guard kick me out of the store due to my attitude which basically mirrored hers---this really offended me. I proceeded to immediately walk out for she was not backing her crass demeanor down to a more professional courteous one. I guess I will not shop here for the rest of my short life. (I have shopped at this Kroger for years but I might be forced to reluctantly go to Marsh.)

Bad experience with the store manager on duty!... My negligence - left my cash back money at a self-checkout register. I come back as the staff to review the camera footage, cameras say the lady behind me took it. Store Manager wouldnt support me even as all the evidence suggests she took it and KROGER had all her information, as shes a member and she used her membership card while checking out. I requested him to give her a polite call but he says he cant do anything about it (may be just because I look brown!) Police - After examining the footage, the police officer says You left something and she took it, I dont see any crime or theft here...LOL For GODs SAKE, She took something thats not hers or something that she didnt pay for..!! I am pissed at the loophole in the system where no one would take any kinda action even with all the evidence and all the information!

If you are a veteran and or support the military do not shop at this kroger!! We have a nonprofit 501c3 organization which we had to pay for a license to obtain to help out the local veterans. Kroger however is making it very difficult to set up to volunteer our time to help out the veterans. Walmart on the other hand, anyone that supports the military should shop at because all we have to do is show them proof of our 501license and they happily allow you to set up to help out our military serving to protect our country as well as all of our veterans that need our help!!! So thank you Walmart for making it easier to help out the veterans and soldiers but no thanks to you kroger! This is considered discrimination and maybe all the other organizations should come together that are licensed and get a class action lawsuit going on!

I live about a block from here and do all my grocery shopping here. Great location, vast selection of food. Everything here is very fresh, Ive never bought milk or produce only to get them home and find they were off. Their sushi is actually pretty good, at least its about the median of all sushis I had in my life, which for a grocery store is basically a 10/10. This location having six self-checkouts is the best thing ever. I used to work at a grocery store and frankly Im better at bagging my own groceries than some underpaid teenager who throws everything in the bags as fast as possible. Theres also some nights when I go right after work and Im tired and dont want to do the whole human interaction thing more than I have to.
