I usually enjoy my shopping experience at Castleton but the last few years have changed that drastically. Some of the shops set up in the middle of the mall encroach upon your personal space and pressure sell products onto you. While I am not against the tactic of pressure sales, while I am walking in the middle of the mall either window shopping or heading to a specific shop I do not enjoy being approached when I am not "in" a store. It gives me anxiety because a situation is created where they step out in front of you blocking your path to your destination attempting to drag you to their kiosk. I want to enjoy what Castleton has to offer but I have found myself avoiding this mall for no other reason than what Ive mentioned above. Holidays or weekends are more safe due to the large crowds make it more luck of the draw.

The mall used to be a very outstanding productive Mall. Now its being used by the community as a free babysitter for their children because the parents cant control or discipline their own children. The teenage violence is very disturbing when youre trying to go to a safe place to shop with the family when you see groups of teenagers having group fights and gunfights in parking lots it makes the place look ghetto unprofessional unapproachable something needs to be done something needs to be done to the parents not the children and its not their fault theyre being raised in talk the way they they are its the parents fault for raising them for the way they are.

While this mall has a LONG way to go before it gets ghetto, I HAVE noticed a slight decline in quality and increase in crime over the past year. I even witnessed someone snatching a small trinket from a kiosk around Christmas and bolting for the door. However, thats not why I dont come here as often; its the loss of Borders. Now, I only have Aeropostale, Asian Chao, and Frullati, which is always awesome if Im in the area, but its no longer a destination stop like Greenwood Park Mall, my new favorite mall after Castleton Square lost Borders. Oh, and I also wanted to add that the employees are fairly helpful, cheerful, welcoming, and engaging!

This mall has gone waaaaay downhill (much like Castleton itself). I stopped shopping here years ago but went with a friend recently. We saw not one, not two, but THREE separate people being detained for shoplifting. Cars are always getting broken into. If you have anything of value in your car, you should definitely lock it up in your trunk. Its a shame. This was the mall to shop at when I was a teenager and there was little to no crime in the area. Not now though. You can tell a lot by an area by the conditions of the roads and its pot hole city now. You couldnt pay me to shop at this mall or even live in the area. Go to Greenwood.

This is a very pleasant mall, kept for the most part very clean. I would have given four stars but the lack of disabled parking is concerning. Ive contacted the mall and SImon offices several times and get no response back. There is simply not enough disabled parking, especially if you want to only go into a certain section of the mall you may end up having to struggle and go farther than you really can. And the only other thing that falls short is the slim selection in the food court. Other than that the management does very well at keeping the teenage visitors under control even though they shouldnt be their babysitters.

I am not surprised but I am deeply saddened by the racial slurs and commentary that people have expressed in these reviews. To someone who is not from Indianapolis, you would think that Castleton Square Mall is only for white people. 82nd St & Allisonville Rd is not a restricted area. Diversity is something that Simon malls strive for but they will fight an uphill battle if some patrons dont realize that they dont live in a world of one race. People should see CHARACTER first, then assemble all other stereotypes and attributes later. Happy Holidays for those who love all humanity.

I am from California and this mall reminds me of the Ontario Mills Outlets. Indianapolis may be smaller than San Diego or Riverside, but after moving here, this is the only place I can go to and not feel homesick. I love almost all of the variety they have here as far as clothing and entertainment. Only thing this mall lacks is an actual food court. Overall, this is a great place to just come hang out on the weekends. Since AMC Theaters are located right next to the mall, it is convenient to have a nice shopping time and watch movies. NICE!

I like going to this mall because its matched up with Greenwood Park mall and it is what Lafayette Square used to be, but Im gonna be honest, I wish this mall was a melting pot. I wish it had a rainbow of people, its got too many young blacks and Im black myself. I dont wanna see too many white or too many black folks. I want to see people of all races, kinda like Circle Centre Mall. Please dont let this mall turn out to be Lafayette Square pt 2 because its been heading in that direction especially of late. Thats just how I feel.

The mall has quite a few great stores in it. People that say its going "ghetto" are slightly correct, but thats not the malls fault. Its not as bad as Circle Center Mall thats for sure. I will not be going to any mall in Indianapolis anymore due to the heat, or should I say, lack of A/C. In the summer, expect the temp to be about 78 degrees. If it wasnt for that, I would gladly keep going. If you are okay with being uncomfortably hot while shopping and trying on cloths, then you wont have problems.

A typical indoor mall with your typical indoor mall stores. It has your typical indoor mall food court none of which are what you would call "healthy choices". There is also a childrens play area but take some disinfecting wipes with you to wipe little hands when done. Traffic can be a challenge in her in and out. Avoid Friday and Saturday nights as it gets pretty rough when parents drop off their teens and results in high police activity.

Im sad about this mall. I still go here every once in a while because of the Lego store, and thats about it. The mall is entirely too ghetto feeling for me anymore. It just seems that its going downhill. Im not the only one who feels this way from the reviews either. Its not as bad as Circle Centre (Ill never go back there after our latest experience with the gang fights), but I absolutely wont be caught there after dark.

I go to Macys in Castleton for one reason and only one reason, the watch repair shop on the upper level hidden away in a remote corner. The lady that runs this leased department is awesome! She never fails to have an answer to my watch issues and has a delightful personality to match. Honestly, I find Macys to be cluttered and messy almost at any given time. Nearly unshoppable. Not the case at the watch repair...

If I could write a negative stars review, I would. There is a CHILDRENS PLAY AREA in the food court. There is a Lego Store and Build a Bear. The idea that a child molester, solicitor, and ABUSER would be employed in this establishment is beyond words. Even if the person has been terminated, as of May 3, 2017, their other address is still listed as the mall. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN AND TEENS SHOP HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
