The review is more for the store credit card company, Comenity, but a portion will regard this location and its employees. On 07/14/17 I signed up for a Meijer store credit card and in the initial email I received was advised I could use a temporary shopping pass until my physical card arrived. The first time I used the temporary pass there was not a bump or issue with completing the steps needed. During the process the system requires myself and the cashier to confirm the address on file. The address that appeared was correct and with an apartment number. A week later I still did not receive the card and went to Meijer, did my regular weekly shopping and when the cashier finished ringing my items, I requested to use the temporary pass because I had not received a physical card. The cashier looked at me like I had blown her mind with the statement. She advised she didnt know what that was and couldnt do that. I asked if she could have someone come over and assist, to which she replied there was no one around to help her. I used my debit card and paid for my items. I went to the customer service desk and asked if the items I purchased could be moved from my debit card to the Meijer credit card. The male at the customer service desk advised they could, but would need to return all the items and rescan each item. I advised if he didnt mind doing that I would greatly appreciate this. He did just that and was done within a few minutes. Weeks later I receive an email that the company received returned mail and to log into my account to update my address. First, to log into an account one needs to have a physical card in hand to register. Second, there was no phone number listed for the company. After searching through Google, I found a customer service number and gave it a ring. The female who answered, Angie, was completely unhelpful and unfriendly. She states that I forgot to add my apartment number when I initially signed up. This statement was repeated numerous times to me, Im assuming to make her feel better about herself. I disagreed because I used the shopping pass prior and the apartment number was listed. Finally, Angie states that she can update my address, because you left out your apartment number and resend the welcome information. I asked if this welcome information has the physical card since I have yet to receive it. She then questioned why I didnt get the card. I ignored the question and asked if the card could be resent. Angie advised it would be a standard 7-10 business days before my card would arrive. I received no sliver of empathy, no glimmer of compassion. Instead I was told again, you forgot to enter your apartment number. If and when I do receive my physical card I will pay off what I used and cut the card up. Ill update once I receive the physical card for reference how long it took. Meijer isnt a great store to shop at anyway. If youre an mPerks member you receive $2 for every $100 spent, which is only a 0.02% return. Meijer wants its customer to believe this is a savings and a reason to shop for all ones needs only at their stores. I think its time I take all of my business to Target.

I agree with the other reviewers that the service at this store has really gone downhill! I went to the Carmel Meijer to return a toy that my mother purchased my son for his birthday. She lost the receipt but I told her not to worry about it as Meijer is usually great with returns. Ive spent hundreds of dollars a week at Meijer. It is a very convenient location for me and I frequent it several times a week on my lunch breaks. The lady behind the counter, upon entering my drivers license info, said she couldnt take it back because I was told in December that I wouldnt be allowed to do another return without receipt. I told her that is absolutely not true - I think I would remember being told that! I did make a return in December but was told no such thing - hence me telling my mother that it wouldnt be a problem. I figured I would get store credit which was fine by me since I shop so much there. Well no more! My plan was to do some shopping after making the return, but I was so upset by being accused of lying, that Ive decided that I will be doing my shopping elsewhere. I write this from the Kroger parking lot, in fact. And shopping there was an amazingly pleasant experience with very similar prices. Bye Meijer - sorry you will be losing my business over a silly toy! You might want to train your Customer Service staff at your Carmel store to be a little friendlier and not accuse frequent customers of lying (Ive also had experience with this particular lady when Ive shipped packages from there and shes not the most pleasant to deal with anyway!)

While they may have good prices, their customer service is lacking. Most of the time, when you call in with a question, the automated system puts you on hold, you wait 15-20 min. on the line, then it hangs up on you. When you call back, you get the same result. In addition, I have two children who have worked there and the oldest says the store is poorly managed, with one manager telling you to do one thing, and another coming right behind to tell you to do something else. No matter which you choose to do, the other manager will say you should have followed their orders. When she left, they asked her to come back next summer, during her college summer break. She has told me she would never go back. Shed rather work at McDonalds. The other child tried to call in sick on the call in line, and could not get through, so I called in and was put on hold over 4 telephone calls a total of more than 1.5 hours. I finally got a live person, who transferred me to the manager. This kind of procedure guarantees that the employee cannot reach someone in the case of emergency. I find the customer service and the employee services sadly lacking. Otherwise, this would be a pretty decent store. I do my shopping elsewhere.

I love the remodel of this Meijer. Its much more spacious and brighter. I buy all my wine here and Jane is the Wine Steward and she is AMAZING!! She knows so much about wine, beer, and liquor and is always extremely helpful when I am looking for something specific or comparing several items. I just tell her the events and/or the meal Im preparing and she gives me spot-on recommendations as to what type of spirits I would enjoy. She remembered me after the first time I stopped in for some wine and every time I go into the wine section she is helping someone and we all start talking then.... shes such a wonderful person and the best thing to happen to wine and Meijer in a long time! Thanks Jane!!

Since their "remolding", this store has become a total joke. If you need to make a quick stop in the morning, dont be surprised if they have blocked half of the grocery isles, or that the selves are not stocked, or they might lock the East door clos Since their "remolding", this store has become a total joke. If you need to make a quick stop in the morning, dont be surprised if they have blocked half of the grocery aisles, or that the selves are not stocked, or they might lock the East door closest to the grocery section and make you walk all the way across the store. Even though they are the closest to my work, I will drive 10 minutes to go to either Kroger, Marsh or Walmart.
