I went into this “business” to get a new battery and a link removed for a fairly inexpensive watch. I was greeted by an attitude filled woman who told me that the service would cost $25 and take a week. I reluctantly left my watch with them. That same day I contacted about five other local jewelers who all gave me prices that were half as much and said that it would take 2 days. About a half hour after I dropped off my watch, I went back to Wilmette Jewelers to pick it up. I very politely told the woman that I was going to get my watch repaired elsewhere. I waited ten minutes while they hunted my watch down. I honestly cannot understand how Wilmette Jewelers could be in business. And I was treated differently because I did not have a Rolex or a Cartier. I will never conduct any sort of business with Wilmette Jewelers Again May 4, 2009 I would first like to say that although my above comments are rather strong, they were my thoughts of Wilmette Jewelers at the time of my visit. Sometime later I received a very apologetic letter from Gayle with the invitation to meet with her. The gesture is very polite and I will reconsider my decision to not do business with Wilmette Jewelers.

I have found the owner and staff of Wilmette Jewelers to be unfailingly courteous and helpful. Most of my purchases have been small: watch battery replacements, watch repair and small gift items. But that hasnt diminished the service. I was especially impressed with their work in replacing a watchband for a 25 year-old watch. The original band was no longer in production. It was an unusual band, and the staff, including the watchmaker, devoted a lot of time to find good replacement options. We found a good one and replaced the band. It was not a big sale, but they all worked like it was. They care about their customers and it shows.

I needed a family heirloom repaired and, frankly, didnt trust any other jewelers to handle the ring--the 45 minute drive from the city is well worth the peace of mind. Gayle showed me the unique characteristics of my ring, walked me through what would need to be done and, under the outstanding handling of Howard, all of the repairs were completed in three days. The results are beautiful and I have never been treated better or more warmly by another store, let alone jeweler. Ive only had work done on rings at Wilmette, but I would certainly recommend them for anything! Simply a pleasure doing business with them.

With Autism Awareness month coming up, I was on the lookout for something nice I could wear to help me share the story of our on the Spectrum grandson. Finding nothing, I turned to Wilmette Jewelers where Gayle immediately ran with what I had in mind. In less than a month, I had a beautiful sterling puzzle-piece pendant etched with a photo of my grandson, putting a face to autism----exactly what I had in mind! Thank you Gayle!!

Super friendly staff. Very helpful. Always get my wives rings cleaned there and they are very reasonable. The other day I got my sons watch strap fixed while I waited at no cost which was nice. They also have a really comfie rocking chair to enjoy while you wait :o)
