The coffee is fantastic - some of the best Ive ever had, in fact. Everything from specialty drinks to regular ol joe on tap is phenomenal. Refills on in-house regular brews are free, and the in-house brews are a tad cheaper than at other shops in the area. Customers can donate coffee to our servicemen and women overseas. This is a great initiative and the servicemen and women have expressed appreciation for Hansas customeres generosity and partnership with them. Everybody wins. The only drawbacks to Hansa (Libertyville) are that it can be quite busy, and if you are meeting someone or want to grab a seat, it can be difficult during peak hours. The WiFi is spotty, too. For example, it died while I was in the middle of writing this review and I had to repost. But the fact that I and a lot of people are still here should only reinforce for you, reader, how good this place is. I am moving out west soon and plan to order Hansa coffee to share with the office at my new place of employment. That should tell you something, too.

To all who venture in Hansa, you will most likely be welcomed by James, the Italian, whose modest genius of all things "coffee" greeted us with the warmth equivalent to the drinks served by Ted the barista. The fresh roasted beans wafted through the kitschy cafe, adorned with repurposed furniture and books to borrow...just enough to focus on the amazing product behind the bar, Coffee! My journey in Hansa began with the smoothest, sweetest cold pour that awakens the palette with robust flavor. That same night while enjoying dinner at Bottaio up the street, I found my way back to Hansa for an after dinner 1/2 caff Americano, with just a shot of refreshing peppermint! My 5 stars for this cafe is given with the upmost honesty and I recommend you pay a visit and enjoy a fantastic cuppa Joe!

In my book, Hansa and Conscious Cup would place one and two as best coffee roaster in the Chicagoland suburban area. Espresso quality of a coffee roaster is typically the foremost indicator I use to evaluate a shop, and Hansas is outstanding. Always a good pull, full of flavor, with delicious crema—appropriately served with sparkling water. The accessory products curated here are also worth noting. Take a seat inside during pleasant weather and the garage doors will be open.

Hansa has phenomenal coffee that has some of the highest caffeine content ever... seriously, it might be laced with heroin. It comes out a beautiful amber color, very deep and rich, and the taste is strong and pungent in all the best ways. The only problem: horrible study space as it is quite often full on weekends and theres not many outlets for your laptop. Its in a garage so great to sit in the summer, but too industrial to get anything done.

I just finished meeting here with a business associate, he had suggested we meet at this particular coffee place. I really liked how they had this pour over method of brewing coffee which I had never seen before, way different than your average Starbucks. I really liked the coffee and atmosphere.

Best coffee I have ever had. They have some of the nicest employees I have ever met as well. I spilled a little bit of coffee on one of the chairs inside and they were really appreciative when I asked for a wet rag to clean it up. This place is definitely a hidden gem worth trying.

I have met with prospective clients here in the past. I like the coffee a lot; the service is also excellent, and it is a different, warm, roomy atmosphere when compared to the chains. Definately would go back. (As I did this past Friday, for another great experience.)

Great little hipster-ish coffee place. If you need to get some work done and want some coffee, this is where to go. The coffee is a little expensive, but for the quality you get and the fact that its a local business, you shouldnt really mind. Free Wi-Fi as well.

Truly excellent coffee, tea, espresso, cold brew, and bottled drinks. Looks and feels like hipster central without the snotty attitude. Truly awesome peeps. Good for hanging out, meeting people, dates, reading a book or just soaking in the vibe.

So everyone knows Hansa has the best coffee around, but did you know that their hot chocolate is to die for!!! Enjoy a Hansa hot chocolate along with a Lee donut apple fritter, that Hansa carries, and your day will start out perfectly.

Spectacular coffee, spectacular atmosphere. The workers all want to interact with their customers and start good conversation. They try to have a relationship with each customer and remember them between visits. Great place.

Great atmosphere to grab the coffee of your choice and relax in the open garage-door patio. Artistic and inspiring. Let your worries drift away like the steam from your coffee. Just relax and enjoy the breeze.

Best coffee in the area. Never bitter, no matter if its cold, hot or unsweetened. Great staff and atmosphere. A true original. The only other coffee house that compares is all the way in New Orleans.

A nice hangout place with really good coffee. Down the street from the main street, just off Metra, lots of parking, and for those who like nature hikes, its close to the Des Plaines river trail.

After being a stubborn Starbucks coffee drinker for years, Hansa was a refreshing eye opener (figuratively and literally). I feel like I have been missing out. Definitely coming back.

Great employees, great customer service, amazing coffee! Referred a friend and her first thoughts were "Hansa is magical. They must be putting some kind of fairy dust in their coffee."

Their coffee is decent and they really have a great atmosphere. The kicker is that I can literally cross the railroad tracks and pay $.50 less for the same coffee sized serving :(.
